That was my situation right there.
And I'm hardly the only one. And it's the whole state, but most particularly the urban crowded areas.
It's reflected in the truck costs. That UHaul she was renting to drive to Tennessee probably will cost her $2,000 minimum. If you wanted to rent the UHaul from Tennessee to San Jose, the cost would probably be $300 or $400. They are constantly paying someone to drive the trucks back to California. Another fellow fled from California to Idaho. His truck cost $2,000. If he wanted to rent it and take it back to Calfornia from Idaho, they would have charged $250.00.

When I dropped my truck off, two truck rental employees had arrived in a "Truck Rental" car (logo on side) which they attached to one truck in tow, and each started driving a rental truck ... yes, south, toward Los Angeles. They have to pay people to take the trucks back to California.
