Bob,
Sorry to get off-thread, but how did your wife pass away? I'm looking at the possiblity of my wife with liver cancer, and a very short life span. Don't know yet, still more tests and a biopsy. But my question to you is how did you survive? I feel like I'm being turned inside out!
In a direct broadcast Stake Conference a few years ago, President Monson related the story of a child's prayer for an older woman in his Ward with advanced cancer. No one expected this good Sister to survive, but she did. President Monson emphasized the need for prayers of faith for our loved ones suffering from illness.

I agree, there were thousands of prayers for JoAnn, her name placed in the temple hundreds of times, blessings! It was her time!

How do I handle it? Anticipation! Like a 10 year old waiting on Christmas, my first deer hunt with a rifle, the chance to shake a prophets hand, the first time I talked with a prophet, our wedding day--and night! She's mine, we'll be together again, the quicker the better! But just like those times, I" must wait!

Bob: My heart goes out to you...I can surely empathize.

My sweet husband of 11 years, sealed to me in the temple,
passed away last Thanksgiving (Nov. 27th) after a long illness.

Yes, it's exciting indeed to have that special knowledge that
we'll be reunited again, and what a joyous reunion that will be!

But in the meantime, there's work to be done here, and I'm so
grateful to Pres. Packer for making the nature of that work
quite clear. :)

Best Regards,
Sharon in Mississippi
