What are your thoughts on the Historical Monogamy Doctrine website? Do you know other members who have read it? What were their thoughts on it?
(A link if you've not read it — it needs to be read on PC as mobile doesn't work for it:

Is this the Jeremy Hoop project?
There are a ton of assumptions in that site and it really needs some better navigation or search.
1. Because Joseph and Hyrum denied it that means they were not guilty?
2. Because Nauvoo court cases were decided in their favor they were not guilty?
3. Because the scriptures teach against polygamy then Joseph didn't do it?
4. Because Brigham lied then Joseph didn't?
5. Because Brigham altered records then Joseph was clean?
6. Because polygamy flourished after Joseph then Brigham was the instigator?
I think the Joseph can do no wrong approach is just as bad as everything is Brigham's fault. Even if we ignore polygamy then why did Joseph go off the rails with the Endowment, the Second Anointing, or the Council of Fifty. Joseph was out of control in Nauvoo, and he was literally crowned as a king. He was told by God that he would have no power in temporal affairs, however after Kirtland that is all he did.
I don't think polygamy will ever really be decided, however I think Nauvoo is a perfect example of how the members were turned over to Satan because they rejected the higher law in Kirtland. If you remove polygamy then we really need to remove all the temple ordinances, and likely the entire temple as we know it. The Kirtland temple will again be used according to the original D&C 110 text and it has nothing like what we would expect in a modern LDS temple.
I don't think polygamy is of God and certainly don't want it to return. I do think however that we really need to look at the big picture. The church rejected the fulness of God and was sent back to the wilderness where we started believing in strange doctrines like polygamy. To return to God we really need a complete reset.

It's wild how I see the exact reverse.
Kirtland was lesser, Nauvoo higher.

I agree.
The members rejected consecration, going without purse or scrip, and seeking God with their might, mind, and strength. As a reward of ignoring God then God said, to hell with my previous commandments, I am going to reward you for seeking Babylon more than me. They even built a masonic lodge before the Nauvoo house or temple, yet somehow that was a good thing to God.
I don't think doctrinal differences like this really matter, as long as we are willing to sacrifice whatever we previously thought was true when God tells us it is not. Regardless of how convinced you or I are about anything, we are wrong about so many things. When God begins his final wrapping up then many things will change, and a lot of people will reject it because it didn't follow their preconceived notions of how things should be.

I think the website means to claim that there is another possible narrative than the official narrative, and that the other narrative for some has the better claim, for many reasons. What did you think about the last section points?

I am not sure what you mean. Certainly the official narrative is problematic, however polygamy has been hotly debated on both sides for a very long time. I think more information is certainly good, however there doesn't seem to be a smoking gun one way or the other.
The last point, asking people to pray about it, is certainly good. However we can very easily be swayed by our emotions and desires according to Ezekiel 14. God gives us what we need and then if that is rejected he will give us what we want.
I also think the anti-polygamy efforts have become a false god to many. That is all they consider and research. The Gospel is so much more rich than endless sex or the lack thereof.
