It's unfortunate that other cultures and languages were so limited that someone couldn't find an alternative word which conveyed similar meanings to the original intent of the complex english words like "beehive" "maid" or "laurel".
Exactly. The whole "meh global church" excuse for dropping perfectly fine names was so stupid. As if, before they dropped the YW class names no one in Mexico or India or Japan had adapted any names for those classes. Those poor backwater saints just stared at each other awkwardly for a few minutes with no idea how to refer to these young women.
These kind of lame excuses for policies practically beg for people to read between the lines (like thinking it's really because they want to give women the priesthood).

Not exactly top class options, IMO. Only Strength of Youth has any heritage to it.
I've never received a church survey (I'm not important enough I guess). But I'd struggle with how to respond to this.
How does the church not come up with a better selection of names? I thought they had decent resources for this kind of thing.

Spiritman, thank you! I finally was able to get them posted. I find it weird that the members are helping choose these things. I thought the leaders were supposed to be receiving revelation for these changes.
I get A/B testing, but this is stupid. Basically it feels like someone with too much time and too much money on their hands. Think about how much money was spent on creating the questions, selecting the recipients, analyzing the results, putting them into a powerpoint presentation so that someone on the Q15 can see "oh survey says!!!!! this is what the new name of the program should be!!!!.
I don't particularly mind surveys in general-but if you are going to do a survey, make it important-not over silliness like "let's pick a name!!"
Because now you have to wonder...."if they send me this survey about picking a name for the youth program, are they sending a survey about picking YW class names, surveys about who should hold the priesthood", was 2-hour church changed based on a survey???
What else is a survey?

I think the problem goes much deeper than whether or not the classes have names. It's the franchise model and the modeled-after-school approach. They shouldn't be separating kids out by age group. That is so foolish. The kids should all be together, all ages in the same room, with their parents. It should always be, and should have always been, a family-centric approach. We just split them all up by age group because we're hopelessly retarded. "It's more efficient." If there's one thing kids need more of it's not more time with their immature peers, it's more time with mature parents who love them and who teach them the way to behave and live. Our wards should be smaller, too.
There should be 3 general meetings. Sacrament with families.
Scripture study group with families.
Priesthood.
Relief Society, the den of feminism and homosexuality-affirming nonsense it has become, should be disbanded and mothers and wives should focus on being mothers and wives again.
I'll add to my wish list more socials, but NOT always at the stale, mass produced feeling of the church basketball court. How about we go and do something as a ward family. Go to a Christian movie together. Have a sled ride in the snow. Anything less boring than sitting at a plastic table on the basketball court.
How about put our principles in action.
Does the Church ever hand out anti-abortion pamphlets?
Soup-kitchens?
nah....

I'm really sure it was. No source, but I am convinced it was.

Another reason for us to stop calling it a church anymore. It's the "Corporation of the President..." and this is what corporations do- they use polls to make managerial decisions on how to do their marketing.
