Exploring this topic was interesting. Let me know if this is the way you have understood it, or if you have additional insights. I think this topic will prompt me to make other posts that detail related topics like Priesthood, the Holy Spirit, and others. Please realize that a proper understanding of the Priesthood and the Holy Spirit is required to fully grasp this topic of "Sealing".
This first post is the introduction. In the next post, I'll demonstrate that there are different levels to "Sealing" and they are related to portions of the Priesthood and levels of progression.
Meaning & Usage
There are several different words used to denote "sealing."

Here are examples of different levels of "sealing":
1. The first level is related to the temporal world and the Lesser portion of the Priesthood (aka Levitical).
It deals with temporal witnessing and recording of ordinances, IE "recording".
D&C 127:5-7
And again, I give unto you a word in relation to the baptism for your dead. Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you concerning your dead: When any of you are baptized for your dead, let there be a recorder, and let him be eye-witness of your baptisms; let him hear with his ears, that he may testify of a truth, saith the Lord; That in all your recordings it may be recorded in heaven; whatsoever you bind on earth, may be bound in heaven; whatsoever you loose on earth, may be loosed in heaven;
D&C 128: 12,14
12 Herein is glory and honor, and immortality and eternal life—The ordinance of baptism by water, to be immersed therein in order to answer to the likeness of the dead, that one principle might accord with the other; to be immersed in the water and come forth out of the water is in the likeness of the resurrection of the dead in coming forth out of their graves;
14 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy; and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as are the records on the earth in relation to your dead, which are truly made out, so also are the records in heaven. This, therefore, is the sealing and binding power, and, in one sense of the word, the keys of the kingdom, which consist in the key of knowledge.
2. The second level is related to the Spirit and a greater portion of the Priesthood that is administered by the Melchizedek Priesthood.
The Greater Priesthood holds keys to the Spirit. The Spirit is Priesthood Power, it is what bestows authority, testifies of that authority and provides the gifts of that authority.
D&C 84:19-24
19 And this greater priesthood administereth the gospel and holdeth the key of the mysteries of the kingdom, even the key of the knowledge of God.
20 Therefore, in the ordinances thereof, the power of godliness is manifest.
21 And without the ordinances thereof, and the authority of the priesthood, the power of godliness is not manifest unto men in the flesh;
22 For without this no man can see the face of God, even the Father, and live.
23 Now this Moses plainly taught to the children of Israel in the wilderness, and sought diligently to sanctify his people that they might behold the face of God;
24 But they hardened their hearts and could not endure his presence; therefore, the Lord in his wrath, for his anger was kindled against them, swore that they should not enter into his rest while in the wilderness, which rest is the fulness of his glory.
In this role the Spirit is rightly known as the Holy Spirit of Promise.
The Holy Spirit of Promise
Ephesians 1:13
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
D&C 76:53
And who overcome by faith, and are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, which the Father sheds forth upon all those who are just and true.
2 Corinthians 1:21-22
Now He who establisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God, who hath also put His seal upon us, and given us the pledge of the Spirit in our hearts.
Ephesians 4:29-30
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
3. A fulness of the Priesthood. Divine investiture by Divine manifestation.
Moses 6:34 (Enoch)
Behold my Spirit is upon you, wherefore all thy words will I justify; and the mountains shall flee before you, and the rivers shall turn from their course; and thou shalt abide in me, and I in you; therefore walk with me.
JST Genesis 14:26-32 (Melchizedek)
Now Melchizedek was a man of faith, who wrought righteousness...And thus, having been approved of God, he was ordained a high priest after the order of the covenant which God made with Enoch, It being after the order of the Son of God, which order came not by man, nor the will of man, neither by father nor mother, neither by beginning of days nor end of years, but of God. And it was delivered unto men by the calling of his own voice, according to his own will, unto as many as believed on his name--
For God, having sworn unto Enoch and unto his seed with an oath by himself that everyone being ordained after this order and calling should have power, by faith, to break mountains, to divide the seas, to dry up waters, to turn them out of their course, To put at defiance the armies of nations, to divide the earth, to break every band, to stand in the presence of God, to do all things according to his will, according to his command, subdue principalities and powers; and this by the will of the Son of God which was from before the foundation of the world. And men having this faith, coming up unto this order of God, were translated and taken up into heaven.
Moses 1:25 (Moses)
And calling upon the name of God, he beheld his glory again, for it was upon him; and he heard a voice, saying: Blessed art thou, Moses, for I, the Almighty, have chosen thee, and thou shalt be made stronger than many waters; for they shall obey thy command as if thou wert God.
Helaman 10:4-10 (Nephi son of Helaman)
Blessed art thou, Nephi, for those things which thou hast done; for I have beheld how thou hast with unwearyingness declared the word, which I have given unto thee, unto this people. And thou hast not feared them, and hast not sought thine own life, but hast sought my will, and to keep my commandments.
And now, because thou hast done this with such unwearyingness, behold, I will bless thee forever; and I will make thee mighty in word and in deed, in faith and in works; yea, even that all things shall be done unto thee according to thy word, for thou shalt not ask that which is contrary to my will.
Behold, thou art Nephi, and I am God. Behold, I declare it unto thee in the presence of mine angels, that ye shall have power over this people, and shall smite the earth with famine, and with pestilence, and destruction, according to the wickedness of this people.
Behold, I give unto you power, that whatsoever ye shall seal on earth shall be sealed in heaven; and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven; and thus shall ye have power among this people.
And thus, if ye shall say unto this temple it shall be rent in twain, it shall be done. And if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou cast down and become smooth, it shall be done. And behold, if ye shall say that God shall smite this people, it shall come to pass.

The example of Jesus and His baptism
By "fullfilling all righteousness" Jesus received all three levels of the "Sealing" power at His baptism.
Matthew 3:16-17
And Jesus, when He had been baptized, went up straightway out of the water. And lo, the heavens were opened unto Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest upon Him. And lo, a voice came from Heaven, saying, “This Is My Beloved Son, In Whom I Am Well Pleased.”
1 - Baptism by water in front of witnesses it was recorded
2 - The sign of the Dove, for Jesus' baptism of fire
3 - The voice of God: divine manifestation (It is not a coincidence that Jesus began His miraculous works after proving Himself through His trials/temptations and His baptisms) - This level is associated with power over the elements, animals, etc.

"SEALED" is a term used because of the "efficacy" of the NAME/WORD. Here are the clues, or the explanation of it (a few examples).
IV Isaiah 29:15 (expanded Isaiah 29/JST)- "For the book shall be "SEALED" by the power of God [WORD/NAME] ...". 2nd Nephi (CoC-RLDS 11:130/ LDS 27:10)
IV Genesis 5:2 (JST) "in a firm decree [WORD/NAME], wherefore they must be fulfilled". LDS Moses 5:15
IV Genesis 5:44-45 (JST) "... thus the GOSPEL (compound word from God Spell aka the Divine NAME) began to be preached in the Beginning, being declared ... DECREE sent forth that IT should be in the world until the End ...". LDS PoGP Moses 5:58-59
Isaiah 55:11 "So shall my WORD (NAME) be shall go forth out of my mouth, it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper (be SEALED or fulfilled) in the thing (task whereto I sent it."
D&C (CoC-RLDS 2:8b/ LDS 1:38) "... my WORD(/NAME) shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled (SEALED) whether by mine own voice, or by the voice of my servants, it is the same."

Excellent topic. Sealing is in my understanding to be promised a reward and have guaranteed (within some limits). This is the main task of the Holy Ghost. The HG has the sealing power given of the Father and the Son. It is called "Holy Spirit of Promise" at times others "comforter" or "second comforter". The HG has this power always. Sometimes he bestows power to mortal men to seal things up on this earth. That would be Elijah for sure, and we claim Joseph had it.
I don't want to confuse sealing power with authority to perform sealing ordinances or administer to ordinances that are later sealed by HSoP. I feel LDS leaders have this latter power, that is administration of ordinances. But that only the HG currently has the power to truly seal anyone up.
Also, I will say that I feel all rewards are possible and necessary to be sealed up. Baptism of water by baptism of fire or C&E, exaltation for both being endowed with powers of godliness and celestial marriage. Even getting into the telestial and terrestrial require being awarded or "sealed" up.
I feel the term "fullness of the priesthood" might be the realization of the full sealing power on this earth, like with Elijah. Personally, I have no evidence it exists on the earth today and everyone receiving their election needs it from the HG. So, I guess that would mean that I don't personally accept the concept of LDS second anointing as I read about it as it would assume the President has the full sealing powers.

I trust everyone can see the difference between what sealing is in the scriptures verses what sealing is in Nauvoo and the later BY additions to scripture.
In Nauvoo sealing became perverted to mean that being sealed to a righteous man pulled you into the Celestial Kingdom, even if you didn't merit it. A righteous male leader automatically pulled up anyone he was sealed to. This is why men were sealed to other men.
It was simply the carrot on the end of the polygamy stick. The lure to become an additional wife was the promise of guaranteed glory if you did.
Sealing people to people is the perversion that enabled a greater perversion.
It also allows current members to have some type of ecstatic cerebral fluid excretion every time their brain says the words, "We've been sealed".

Where is the Holy Spirit the Second Comforter?
I believe I understand why you relate the Holy Spirit to promises and guarantees the way you do, because that is the way I think that it has been taught. And I once thought that way too. But this is not right.
When we say the Holy Spirit of Promise, I think most people think that the Spirit is making a guarantee or ensuring a reward, as in the Holy Spirit that Promises. Makes sense?
But think of it as the Promised Spirit. In the New Testament (and throughout antiquity), 1860 (epaggelía meaning promise) is a legal term that refers to an officially sanctioned promise. "Almost every NT use of the word promise (epaggelia) points back to the OT" (Walter C. Kaiser, Jr., Back Toward the Future, Hints for Interpreting Bible Prophecy, 102).
Example Galatians 3. The Spirit is what has been promised. It's the baptism of the Spirit that is paramount here, that we may become sons of God through faith (there are many examples in the Scriptures, like Adam in Moses 6:64-68).
13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”— 14 in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles,
so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Now let's look at Ephesians 1:13-14
In Him, you also, after listening to the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation—
having also believed, you were
sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, unto the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.
4972 /sphragízō ("to seal") signifies ownership and the full security carried by the backing (full authority) of the owner. "Sealing" in the ancient world served as a "legal signature" which guaranteed the promise (contents) of what was sealed.
It is the Holy Spirit that has been pledged or promised!!!
In other words, the Spirit is the seal! See when we receive the Spirit and are truly born again the Spirit acts as a sign of approval and ownership by God. It's about us being sealed His. We only inherit by becoming co-inheritors in Christ Jesus. There is a lot more beauty to this, wow.

Sealing 06.jpg
makes sense to me. I am focusing on Joseph's terms and those used in modern canon and his sermons. Often he uses same terms and overloads them for convenience I guess as does the Lord. Then there are multiple valid meanings. In the D&C and PoGP the HSoP is HG vs. spirit of the Lord or spirit of Christ or literal spirit body of any of the gods. In LDS org it says HSoP that seals is the HG or comforter. the second comforter is also the HG but at another level, that of C&E made sure. All these definitions are good but the question for this OP was about sealing.
D&C 132 discusses JS having the sealing power, like Elijah. Seems later BY and even now if you buy the LDS second endowment, LDS say the same the about the President/Prophet. This is where I don't follow them, that is I feel the HG can give sealing power to a mortal, like Elijah but not to each and every PSR by way of each time ascending to position #1.

I don't see what you are seeing. I may have a disconnect from what I am guessing that you are saying.
Let me start with Gospel. The Greek word is euangelion meaning ‘good news’. In Latin it's bona annuntiatio or bonus nuntius meaning the same. Then in Old English they think it changed into good story aka gospel ("go" from good and "spel" relating to spell as in spelling, as in words or story)
So spell as in story not an incantation or invocation.
Additionally, Jesus being the Word has a lot of depth and levels to it. Including being the embodiment of God's counsel, His commandments, His everlasting covenant and so forth. From the beginning God's counsel was revealed to Adam and his posterity. This is the Gospel that was preached. From the Beginning Adam and Eve offered sacrifice in similitude of the Word fulfilling God's will as the Mediator.
Jesus called himself the Son of Man. What Man?
I think it was a shortening of these names for God.
Moses 7
35 Behold, I am God; Man of Holiness is my name; Man of Counsel is my name; and Endless and Eternal is my name, also.
Will let's just start with this.

My apologies, as to the delay, due to to-- T-Day holidays, being cut off internet (landline was dead for a few days), and being gone on a side project incurring loss of sleep.
First off, as I have just a few minutes before a break for Vitamin Zzzzzzz, I wanted to share another example of a compound word. I'll get back with more on the subject- Gospel derived from God Spell which meant "Divine Name", just as Logos meant "Divine Name".
Rocco A. Errico was an understudy for 10 years of the late George M. Lamsa a renown Aramaic scholar, born & raised in the Middle East, who produced the LT version of the Bible- Lamsa Translation from the Aramaic Peshitta (OT & NT) which he claimed there were sources (Peshitta) older than the Greek version of the NT. Errico in the rear of his 1985 book (my copy is a 2nd Print 1987 PB)- 'Let There Be Light: The Seven Keys', in chapter 9 "The Seven Keys and the New Testament", pp.141-156, he discusses seven items that unlock greater understanding of the NT.
The very first item he shares (on the first 3 pages of this chapter- pp.141-143) is the basis for the "compound noun" (a compound word)- HEAVEN which is SHMAYA in Aramaic. It is derived from SHEM ("NAME") and YAH (God) [which is a shortened form of YHWH/YHVH/IHVH, the Tetragrammaton]. So Heaven actually means "the Name of God". Of course, other definitions of it followed, such as meaning: sky, cosmos, or universe. So, in essence, all are correct definitions of this noun or word. However, one is the very root of its originality. The others are "tachyons" (which I refer to as "add-ons") in my slang. This meaning in a sense is very near in understanding that Jesus shared. God is not exactly in any place, but everywhere, as in this case- Heaven being the NAME of God.
Errico & Lamsa explain that in order to understand the texts, you have to understand the Aramaic views & culture to make sense of words & meanings. That is if you wish to be more correct of the actual conveyment. For instance, 'Mysticism" (the 3rd Key) is contained in the Bible (OT&NT combined) of over 40%. Examples Errico shares is that this encompasses dreams, visions, voices, healings, clairaudience (inner hearing), clairvoyance (inner sight), and bi-location (out of body Experiences) on pp. xvii-xviii.
Errico shares what his Seven Keys are on pp.xiii-xiv:
1) The Aramaic Language
2) The Idioms in the Bible
3) The Mysticism of the Near East
4) The Culture of the Near East
5) The Psychology of the Near East
6) The Symbolism of the Near East
7) Near Eastern Amplification

This is interesting. Have you done a comparison on any level between the Lamsa Translation from the Aramaic and the Greek derived translations? Any significant differences that might impact commonly-held interpretations of key passages, etc?

Actually, you might say I cheat on that. Let me explain. I have the 12 volume 'The Interpreter's Bible. It has the KJV aside with the RSV. But the notes below flag differences & such with Greek, English, and Hebrew. Then I also have a copy of the IV of CoC-RLDS (JST) as well as a copy of the CoC-RLDS 'Joseph Smith's "New Translation" of the Bible which compares the portions altered & found in the IV and the KJV equivalent. I also have a copy of the RSV (the older style) and bookoodles of other versions of the Bible. I even have the LDS Bible (KJV) with a huge Appendix. I have one Lamsa book that touches on certain items here & there OT & NT that he clarifies from the Aramaic understanding. I also have about 7 or more of Errico's books.
What occurs, is I get "prompted" in the sense that something is not reconciled or is in question, then I search out that query & usually am led to find out what I am to find. My friends & relatives know that I somehow "find" things.
You would be amazed as to comparing the IV to the KJV as to the items I have found, such as the Brother of Jared & Jared's name of the BoM in the Bible OT. BoJ = Peleg. Jared = Joktan. Joseph added a little to Peleg's description in the IV. These two went to the East, just as the BoM states. And their father was Eber (which is a form of Heber/Eber which our Hebrew nation was derived from & meant "to wander". Then there is the portion about not suffering a witch to live in the KJV. Well, you have to remember that King James kept an eye over his scholars, so they had to watch what they wrote. Joseph comes in & alters in the IV/JST to not suffer a murderer to live. However, from the Jewish Kabbalistic understanding, the words used there actually is describing not to allow a murdering sorcerer or sorceress to live. In other words both had a hint of the truth, but in researching it, the full truth comes out. Many do not realize that in Europe, many Jews helped those witches of Wicca and probably saved many from being tortured or killed, so that would have been contrary to the OT saying unless they knew the true understanding (not by way of the KJV.
Currently compiling the next post on GOSPEL. I pulled out the Compact OED. About to pull down the giant Webster's. In my Book notes I found one source (noted in 1993) but think there may be another one which I ran across recently & thought I jotted it down, but cannot seem to find it on U-6. I better go eat some supper before the night is over.

noted as of 12-2-23 Saturday
From my extra notes in the rear of my "Book Notes" notebook
dated 7-8-1993
Not sure if from TAMU or BPL library as I did not jot that down.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
NOTES
From: 'Encyclopedia of Religion and Ethics' [13 volume set] -ed. by James Hastings 1961 HB
Vol.6, p.333 --->>> "Gospel"- from "God Spell" meaning "Divine Word" or "God Story".
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
Interestingly, here I have noted "Word" not "Name", so I am thinking there is another source (or 2). Regardless, this source noted it as "Divine Word" which confirms the gist I was trying to get across. In simple terms, IT or the meat of the "story" is the NAME/GOSPEL/GOD SPELL/WORD/LOGOS/SHEM/SOUND/VIBRATION/SONIC/REVERBERATION/THE TRIPLE SHOUTS (Welsh)/THE MYSTERY OF THE 7 VOWELS (Gnostics), not the story of Jesus, as he came to represent the WORD/NAME in action.
++++++++++++++
++++++++++++++
snipped from Academy 100A (1-8-1998)---
Gospel is derived or comes from what is called a compound. This means that Gospel is originally from more than one word. In many larger dictionaries, it will say it came from "God Spell", but still say it means "good news". Now there has been some controversy as Plato tends to use "Good" instead of "God". But that is still not it.
In my Compact OED, which is about a 4"+ thick 9x12 version of the Oxford English Dictionary's 20 volume set, in full, but photo-reduced to 9 pages per one page and comes with a special magnifying glass, Gospel comes from "God Spell", which actually meant "Divine Name".
++++++++++++++
Also, I might add that my "Inner Director" seems to indicate or tell me that it might also be found in the 12 (2 in 1) [1983] or 24 [1970] volume set of 'Man, Myth & Magic' -ed. by Richard Cavendish. I can picture that awhile back, I see images that somewhere I jotted this down on computer as to the volume & page of the reference, but have not re-found it.
I even looked (as well as did "find" searches in my TEACHING book (2-1989 compilation of the NAME/WORD), but only found that Joseph's unique use of the "GOSPEL" preached thru the Son alerted to me that there was a reason he used this word. And I alluded to sharing more later, but a brief peruse resulted that I may not have elaborated more as I said I would, as if I still had not found what I was looking for [U2 song playing in the back ground here].
I was just up at the BPL library here in Bryan, Texas in September or October (2023) and I was over at the Reference Section & asked the clerk if I could look at the shelves near her desk & section, as most of the large reference sets seem to have been done away with. The area next to hers, used to have a table & multi-reference book sets on shelves around that room or area. Sadly, it seems they no longer have most of them. Computers are on the desks & the surrounding shelves have different items on them. In 1993, I may have had access to the above volume at either the TAMU or BPL library. While I did much research at the TAMU Library which had a set, I think so did the BPL. And in 1993, I had less time to peruse more at the TAMU library, but still did. I worked nearby & used a bicycle to get on campus easily. BPL also had at least one of the two sets of 'Man, Myth & Magic' back in the mid to late 1980s. If not, then I had access to each of the sets from both TAMU & BPL. I think BPL had the older set (1970) & TAMU had the newer set (1983). The notes say 1983 but does not note which library. Let me see if Book Notes might have that. BPL also had the 20+ volume set of the Oxford English Dictionary. I did not see it either the other day. I have the huge oversize version called the Compact OED (Oxford English Dictionary) photo-reduced 9 pages on 1 with a special optical viewing magnifying glass. Sadly libraries tend to get rid of books to make room for newer ones. I checked on one about the life of H.P.B. (Helena Petrovna Blavatsky), authored by Sylvia Cranston, one of the co-authors of 'Reincarnation: The Phoenix Fire Mystery', but the one on HPB was no longer on the shelf or found in computer reference. Rats, I was going to look it up today, but forgot to order a copy. It's very thick.
I feel lucky or blessed to have a few multi-volume reference sets here in my personal library. I got the Compact OED for $49.95 & shipping (total $56.94) for the intro joining the book club "Reader's Subscription". It came out in 1991 I think. Mine is a 1994 reprint that lists for $325 in mid 1995. The full 20 volume set was listed at $2500.
I bought a used set of 'The Interpreter's Bible (12 volumes) for $5.00 from LVA (Literacy Volunteers of America). My Mom worked for LVA for a few years & they allowed me to peruse thru some of the donated books & buy them before they went to storage until they had their book sales. I will also check it for the word- Gospel.
I have the 8 volume set of 'The Encyclopedia of Philosophy' but in a 2 in 1- 4 volume set reprint thru the Intro for BOMC (Book of the Month Club) for $24.95 Shipping (total $33.89).
I have a 26 volume "Science" set (used) that I bought in a set at an LVA Book Sale (probably $5 also). I bought a used set of 21 volumes titled 'The Supernatural' at an Austin, Texas Half Price Books for $20.00. I've got at least 7 sets of encyclopedias. I could not begin to tell you how many regular dictionaries, or different Bibles (versions), for that matter. So, while I have had access to the libraries, I also have access to my personal library (well over a 5000 volume count- each book counted as 1). Many other sets, as well.
I noted elsewhere (I think on a thread of "kirtland"'s) that one web publisher back in the late 1990s online noted me as a researcher on steroids. Recently ran across some printed papers that had that noted, as I had either forgotten or did not recall that statement. In the last 2.5 weeks, I have gotten over 12, perhaps 20 books added & 4 or 5 still coming.
Anyway, the point I'm trying to share, is that I take researching very serious. And I leave no stone unturned, unless I did not know about it. I have breezed thru the Compact OED on Gospel (God Spell), Spell, and Name, but plan to go back thru gospel again as I did not have good light & there are about 5 columns for Gospel. I jotted some notes, but want to go back thru it, as I have cited the Compact OED for it (the query finding). The Compact OED is actually 10.25" wide x 14.25" tall x 3" thick & comes with a Case cardboard box, Hard slip cover box, User's Guide booklet & a special raised magnifying glass. It will probably be next weekend before I get to look again over it.
I also looked for Gospel in my huge childhood red Websters dictionary that measures 9" wide x 11 3/8" tall & is 4 3/4" thick. My Mom bought it in 16 separate sections, as well as the side, front, back & 3 plastic fasteners which is from the 1960s. I think she would buy the sections weekly at Safeway grocery store in Townshire shopping center. She also bought an encyclopedia set there that way, as well as a 16 volume set of "World History". I still have all 3 of these sets from the 1960s. It had less than I would have imagined, but I did jot down a few notes.
In this huge red dictionary, I found that Logos is dual. Most do not realize it, but Philo Judaes, sage of Hebrew thought, one of the seven sages of the East in Jesus' day, stationed in Alexandria also makes note of this. There is an Inner & Outer (Spoken). And not sure if it was this dictionary, but Endowment is also dual in the same manner. I thought that was quite interesting indeed.

How do we get from YHWH to Gospel back to the Name? I suppose I don't know why you put GOSPEL in the mix because we know the etymology traces back to εὐαγγέλιον/euaggelion meaning Good News. Essentially you are saying that someone in Old English changed "εὐαγγέλιον/euaggelion/good news" into Gospel/God Spell to give or restore "hidden or lost" meaning...
See these connections:
JST Genesis 5
44 And thus the gospel began to be preached from the beginning, being
declared by holy angels sent forth from the presence of God, and
by his own voice, and by the gift of the Holy Ghost.
45 And thus all things were confirmed unto Adam by a holy ordinance, and the gospel preached, and a decree sent forth that it should be in the world until the end thereof; and thus it was. Amen.
Moses 6
4 And then began these men to call upon the name of the Lord, and the Lord blessed them;
5 And a book of remembrance was kept, in the which was recorded, in the language of Adam, for it was given unto as many as called upon God to write by the spirit of inspiration;
6 And by them their children were taught to read and write,
having a language which was pure and undefiled.
7 Now
this same Priesthood, which was in the beginning, shall be in the end of the world also.
8 Now this
prophecy Adam spake, as he was moved upon
by the Holy Ghost, and a genealogy was kept of the children of God. And this was the book of the generations of Adam, saying: In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
2 Nephi 31
13 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, I know that if ye shall follow the Son, with full purpose of heart, acting no hypocrisy and no deception before God, but with real intent, repenting of your sins, witnessing unto the Father that ye are willing to take upon you the name of Christ, by baptism—yea, by following your Lord and your Savior down into the water, according to his word, behold, then shall
ye receive the Holy Ghost;
yea, then cometh the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost; and
then can ye speak with the tongue of angels, and shout praises unto the Holy One of Israel.
14 But, behold, my beloved brethren, thus came the voice of the Son unto me, saying: After ye have repented of your sins, and witnessed unto the Father that ye are willing to keep my commandments, by the baptism of water, and
have received the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost, and can speak with a new tongue, yea, even with the tongue of angels, and after this should deny me, it would have been better for you that ye had not known me.
2 Nephi 32
2 Do ye not remember that I said unto you that
after ye had received the Holy Ghost ye could speak with the tongue of angels? And now, how could ye speak with the tongue of angels save it were by the Holy Ghost?
I would also add that The Word is not the Name, it's more. The Word is the Covenant, the Way, the Truth, the Life, and the Light of the world.
D&C 45
6 Hearken, O ye people of my church, and ye elders listen together, and
hear my voice while it is called today, and harden not your hearts (be born again: Deut. 30; Ezekiel 11; Ezekiel 36; Jeremiah 31; John 3; 2 Corinthians 3 & 5);
7 For verily I say unto you that
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the light and the life of the world—a light that shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehendeth it not.
8 I came unto mine own, and mine own received me not; but unto as many as received me gave I power to do many miracles, and
to become the sons of God (Moses6:64-68); and even unto them that
believed on my name gave I
power to obtain eternal life (Priesthood, aka Order, Divine Nature, etc.).
9 And even so
I have sent mine everlasting covenant into the world, to be a light to the world, and to be a standard for my people, and for the Gentiles to seek to it, and to be a messenger before my face to prepare the way before me
JST Genesis 9
26 Now Melchizedek was
a man of faith, who wrought righteousness; and when a child, he feared God, and stopped the mouths of lions, and quenched the violence of fire.
27 And thus, having been approved of God, he was ordained a high priest after the order of the covenant which God made with Enoch,
28 It being after the order of the Son of God, which order came not by man, nor the will of man, neither by father nor mother, neither by beginning of days nor end of years, but of God.
29 And it was delivered unto men
by the calling of his own voice, according to his own will, unto as many as believed on his name;
30 For God, having sworn unto Enoch and unto his seed with an oath by himself that everyone being ordained after this order and calling should have power, by faith, to break mountains, to divide the seas, to dry up waters, to turn them out of their course,
31 To put at defiance the armies of nations, to divide the earth, to break every band, to stand in the presence of God, to do all things according to his will, according to his command, subdue principalities and powers; and this by the will of the Son of God which was from before the foundation of the world.
32 And
men having this faith, coming up unto this order of God, were translated and taken up into heaven.

It is right there in all those verses. the sealing power is the HG or HSoP. However, sealing as shown above takes two parts. First we come to god for the reward we wish have or be sealed to. then when we are ready/worthy/proven the HG comes to us to seal us up. So we see an ordinance followed by a sealing up. Let's not confuse the right to perform sealing ordinances with the actual election or sealing up. The title in the OP is a bit broad and seems to include both as I have stated in the past. So there are different aspects of sealing power. Take baptism for example. there is the one having authority to baptize and performing it. there is the person asking for and obtaining the baptism of water. There is the one performing and the one receiving the laying on of hands for the ordinance to receive the HG or baptism of fire, then there is the HG or in this capacity the comforter or second comforter or HSoP doing the sealing. However to add to the complication some, occasionally obtain the right to act for the HG and have the true and full sealing power, for at least some aspects, like Elijah. Still it is like Elijah is the voice or mouth the HG is still the sealing power. That is his primary role in the godhead.

Thanks for this thorough response. That 12 volume Interpreters Bible sounds amazing.

DW, not a problem. Interesting, as after I got it for $5, I was telling the pastor's wife. She had just ordered Dan the newer set for something like $500 or more. She said it made her sick (figure of speech) that I got away with a set for $5. Sidenote: My personal library seems to have really grown after a friend had a dream about "my personal" library. She said it was one of the largest she had ever seen.
As for more feedback due to two commentaries, sadly I won't have time to share more or respond until this weekend, after the storm hits. Then I will be inside. I currently am working on 3 different areas of roof repair, and 1 upper deck repair. I call our set-up-- "The Complex", as we tied in several buildings even around the giant post oak tree. When you get up on any of the sections of roof, it almost feels like a football field up there. What is really fun, is raking (sweeping) leaves off of the roofs.

I've extracted some portions of the AG (whether you accept it or not), which verifies my stance or understanding/knowledge that the word GOSPEL, actually pertains to the Sacred NAME/WORD/SOUND/VIBRATION, or as Joseph Smith referred to it- as the "Grand Key WORD" and relates it to the "Endowment". Yes, it has been watered down, to where many think the gospel relates to a "Good or God Story" concerning Jesus.
When this NAME/WORD/LOGOS/GOSPEL/SOUND/VIBRATION is employed, if everything is "in check" then according to that which is instructed is "SEALED", in other words, it must be fulfilled, on Heaven or Earth (as Above, so Below). Or as one or two notes in the scripture reveals, to that which it is sent, it must be fulfilled (SEALED).
LOGOS, is also noted as Dabhar , as well as Shem, from Hebrew meaning the "WORD" of God.
Also, as to one item briefed by a Bing search has this:
Was the New Testament really written in Greek?
+++++
The New Testament was originally written in Aramaic, not Greek. And that makes a whole lot of sense. Jesus, His Apostles, and the earliest Christians were Semites, speaking the Semitic ... [the brief stops here, but is headed towards Aramaic].
I refer to Aramaic as a form of diluted Hebrew. What does this mean? It is that you have to be careful in translation of one language to another. One word may relate to aa word in another language, but it still may not be an exact meaning or be truly definitive. Of which like a snowball running downhill can pick up more debris (tachyons- my slang for tack-e-ons) clouding the true concept of the original snowball (due to inexact translation). So it takes quite awhile to strip away all the "tachyons" to get to the root (truth).
At the first phase of endowing the 12 disciples with the WORD/NAME/LOGOS/GOSPEl/... , AG 89:1-12 describes it in more detail than the Aramaic Peshitta NT or the Greek rendering of the NT. And I might add that there are scholars who convey that the Aramaic version preceded the Greek rendering of the NT (as also what the Bing search just shared).

AG CHAPTER 89:1-12
Overview: The twelve apostles are at Jesus' home and are consecrated to their work. Jesus instructs them. [thru verse 12]
He goes to the synagogue on the Sabbath and teaches. He casts an unclean spirit out of one obsessed.
He heals Peter's mother-in-law. [verses 13-27]
1) Now, on the day before the Sabbath day, the twelve disciples who had received the call were met with one accord in Jesus' home.
2) And Jesus said to them,
This is the day to consecrate yourselves unto the work of God; so let us pray.
3) Turn from the outer to the inner self; close all the doors of carnal self and wait.
4) The Holy Breath will fill this place, and you will be baptized in Holy Breath.
5) And then they prayed; a light more brilliant than the noonday sun filled all the room, and tongues of flame from every head rose high in air.
6) The atmosphere of Galilee was set astir; a sound like distant thunder rolled above Capernaum, and men heard songs, as though ten thousand angels joined in full accord.
7) And then the twelve disciples heard a voice, a still, small voice, and just one WORD was said, a WORD they dared not speak; it was the SACRED NAME of God.
8) And Jesus said to them,
By this OMNIFIC WORD you may control the elements, and all the powers of air.
9) And when within your souls you speak this WORD, you have the keys of life and death; of things that are; of things that were; of things that are to be.
10) Behold you are the twelve great branches of the Christine vine; the twelve foundation stones; the twelve apostles of the Christ.
11) As lambs I send you forth among wild beasts; but the OMNIFIC WORD will be your buckler and your shield.
12) And then again the air was filled with song, and every living creature seemed to say,
Praise God! Amen!

Omnific means "creating all things" aka Omni- "all powerful". p.1450 of Volume 2- 'World Book Dictionary' 1990.
Further in the AG ...
91:35-46
CHAPTER 91
Overview: Jesus at the feast in Jerusalem. Heals an impotent man.
Gives a practical lesson in healing. [verses 1-34]
Affirms that all men are the sons of God. [verses 35-46]
35) And Jesus said, All men are sons of God and if they live a holy life they always are at home with God.
36) They see and understand the works of God, and in his SACRED NAME they can perform these works.
37) The lightnings and the storms are messengers of God as well as the sunshine, rain and dew.
38) The virtues of the heavens are in God's hands, and every loyal son may use these virtues and these powers.
39) Man is the delegate of God to do his will on earth, and man can heal the sick, control the spirits of the air, and raise the dead.
40) Because I have the power to do these things is nothing strange. All men may gain the power to do these things; but they must conquer all the passions of the lower self; and they can conquer if they will.
41) So man is God on earth, and he who honors God must honor man; for God and man are one, as father and the child are one.
42) Behold, I say, The hour has come; the dead will hear the voice of man, and live, because the son of man is son of God.
43) You men of Israel, hear! you live in death; you are locked up within the tomb.
44) (There is no deeper death than ignorance and unbelief.)
45) But all will some day hear the voice of God made plain by voice of man, and live. You all will know that you are sons of God, and by the SACRED WORD, may do the works of God.
46) When you have come to life, that is, have come to realize that you are sons of God, you who have lived the life of right, will open up your eyes on fields of life.
And yet more in the AG ...
CHAPTER 92:1-12
Overview: The Christines at a feast in Lazarus' home. A fire rages in the town.
Jesus rescues a child from the flames and stays the fire by the WORD. [verses 1-12]
He gives a practical lesson on how to redeem a drunken man. [verses 13-27]
1) Now, Lazarus was at the feast and Jesus and the twelve went with him to his home in Bethany.
2) And Lazarus and his sisters made a feast for Jesus and the twelve; and Ruth and Asher came from Jericho; for Asher was no longer hostile to the Christ.
3) And while the guests sat at the board behold a cry,
The village is a-fire!
and all rushed out into the streets, and, lo, the homes of many neighbors were in flames.
4) And in an upper room an infant lay asleep, and none could pass the flames to save. The mother, wild with grief, was calling on the men to save her child.
5) Then, with a voice that made the spirits of the fire pale and tremble, Jesus said,
Peace, peace, be still!
6) And then he walked through smoke and flame, climbed up the falling stair, and in a moment came again, and in his arms he brought the child. and not a trace of fire was on himself, his raiment, or the child.
7) Then Jesus raised his hand, rebuked the spirits of the fire, commanding them to cease their awful work, and be at rest.
8) And then, as though the waters of the sea were all at once poured on the flames, the fire ceased to burn.
9) And when the fury of the fire was spent the multitudes were wild to see the man who could control the fire, and Jesus said,
10) Man was not made for fire, but fire was made for man.
11) When man comes to himself and comprehends the fact that he is son of God, and knows that in himself lie all the powers of God, he is a master mind and all the elements will hear his voice and gladly do his will.
12) Two sturdy asses bind the will of man; their names are Fear and Unbelief. When these are caught and turned aside, the will of man will know no bounds; then man has but to speak and it is done.
NOTE: Even though the verses do not reveal that the WORD/NAME was employed, the synopsis states that it was. And I might add that not all that Jesus healed were done by the use of the WORD/NAME. In some cases as to the rest of this chapter, Jesus instills hope & purpose to change a person's heart, desire, attitude, and addiction. Here is the rest of this chapter, so that you may take notice of how the Master made a difference, not just to a man, but his children, his wife, his neighbors, and his own neglected home ...
CHAPTER 92:13-27
13) And then the guests returned and sat about the board. A little child came in and stood by Jesus' side.
14) She laid her hand on Jesus' arm and said,
Please, Master Jesus, hear! my father is a drunken man; my mother toils from morn till night and when she brings her wages home my father snatches them away and squanders every cent for drink, and mother and us little ones are hungry all the night.
15) Please, Master Jesus, come with me and touch my father's heart. He is so good and kind when he is just himself; I know it is the wine that makes another man of him.
16) And Jesus went out with the child; he found the wretched home; he spoke in kindness to the mother and the little ones, and then upon a bed of straw he found the drunken man.
17) He took him by the hand and raised him up and said,
My brother, man, made in the image of our Father-God, will you arise and come with me?
18) Your neighbors are in sore distress; they have lost all they had in this fierce fire, and men must build their homes again and you and I must lead the way.
19) And then the man arose; the two went arm in arm to view the wrecks.
20) They heard the mothers and the children crying in the streets; they saw their wretchedness.
21) And Jesus said,
My friend, here is work for you to do. Just lead the way in helpfulness; I'm sure the men of Bethany will furnish you the means and help.
22) The spark of hope that so long had been smoldering in the man was fanned into a flame. He threw his ragged coat aside; he was himself again.
23) And then he called for help; not for himself, but for the homeless ones; and everybody helped. The ruined homes were built again.
24) And then he saw his own poor den; his heart was stirred into its depths.
25) The pride of manhood filled his soul; he said,
This wretched den shall be a home.
He worked as he had never wrought before, and everybody helped.
26) And in a little while the den became a home indeed; the flowers of love bloomed everywhere.
27) The mother and the little ones were filled with joy; the father never drank again.
NOTE: I might add that the AG version of the NT reveals much more & makes Jesus much more alive than the standard versions of scriptures do. And there are many more parables shared. It is also what brought my attention in 1986/1987 to the Sacred Word/Name/Logos/Gospel.
THIS is what the GOSPEL is all about, as it is noted in IV Genesis or JST or Moses 1 (of PoGP), in that THIS GOSPEL (WORD/NAME) will be preached in the End, as it was, in the Beginning (speaking of the Adam & Eve of our era).
Also there was the note of the Holy Spirit in comment by the "Duke". In actuality, you may correspond that Elijah - Joseph Smith represent or perhaps convey, in the sense as a messenger of, the Holy Spirit. Because, the essence of the Trinity (the "Triple Shouts" of the Welsh Logos Doctrine/John 1 of John the Baptist- also called the record of John), lies in the main threefold powers of the NAME/WORD- that which 1) creates, 2) that which destroys, and 3) that which saves or heals. This is also seen in the formula shared by Einstein in E = mc2. Energy & Matter (mass) exchange. Let me explain. There is a conversion in the center, a balancing. Meaning that it does not actually destroy, but Transforms, Renews, Revivifies or Converts. The formula has to do with the flux of Spirit & Matter. Joseph Smith used the terms Spirit & Element in D&C (CoC-RLDS 90/ LDS 93). In the 3rd, it is actually that which Saves, Heals, Redeems, etc. In Joseph Smith's Patriarchal Blessing in 1835 (a vision shown & declared to Oliver) given by Oliver Cowdery that it would be fulfilled in God's own due time, he shares this portion- '27. His loins SHALL be like iron, girded by the hand of the Lord; and his feet SHALL be swift to execute the commandment of the Most High, when he SHALL say "destroy".' Hmm, there it is- "that which destroys", but actually is a conversion or transformation. Joseph is an instrument/messenger of the Holy Spirit.
It is akin to the story Jesus shares in the AG when asked about the fire. He explains that the goldsmith uses the fire to purify the gold (soul). He melts the gold, in order to remove the gross particles it has absorbed, the impurities separated yet the gold is retained, cleansed.
I end it with John 1: 12 (CoC-RLDS- IV/ JST/ KJV/ LT) "But as many as has received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God; only to them who believe on his NAME." John 1:12 [RSV] alters it slightly, but still uses NAME.
So, the SEALING Power that God or Jesus shares, is wrapped up in the actual meaning of the Gospel aka God Spell, which is the Divine Word or Divine Name. Without it, there is no SEALING power. But yes, the Holy Spirit is interlocked into IT. Jesus explains elsewhere that without prayer, faith, an the Spirit, IT is an idle Word/Name/Sound/Vibration. Jesus did not come to preach a story about himself, he came to preach about God's WORD/NAME aka Logos/Gospel. He represents, or is the messenger, of this NAME/WORD.
