There's a lot of turnover coming. Uchtdorf is in good health (it appears) but is 83 years old. I think he may be president, but it's Bednar, just 71 years old, that is positioned to be the next long-term president.
Yeap. It's Oaks, Holland, Eyring, Uchtdorf, Bednar.
Nelson probably makes it to 100.
So who's next in the Q12. First black Apostle?
Elder Adeyinka A. Ojediran or Elder Peter M. Johnson both are either 56 or 57. They got potential-both are slightly older when Bednar was called. At a young enough age to give them a shot at the Presidency in 20-30 years and give the Church that truly woke mindset.
I would hope for Ojediran over Johnson...

Convenient, yes.
I told my wife he was going to die soon after GC, just by looking at him and listening to him, and Barbara.

Maybe the reason why our church leaders are old cob webs is because they can be killed off with no one suspecting foul play?

If it's black tokenism, I think Ahmed Corbitt might have the inside track.

At the risk of spreading urban legends, gossip or rumours. And I am not suggesting foul play.
Does anyone else remember a press conference or interview with President Nelson just after he was made president where he talked about the recent deaths in the 15? President Nelson said he was at the bed side of each of them as they passed away?
At the time I thought to myself that it was odd that he would rush to their homes in their final momnets, then it occured to me..."well he is a doctor, I wonder if he administered the hospice Morphine?"
Interesting to see if an autopsy is performed. They used to be standard procedure, but now, not so much.

Sure that might happen...it will probably be a bi-racial couple so everyone can hear about the struggles of racism....

Both Johnson and Corbitt have white wives.
Peter Johnson is a good guy. He was a counselor in my bishopric 20 years ago. He's been a BYU professor, but he told a member of our ward he would never send his own kids there.

Who is elevated to being Acting President of the Q12?
Presumably Elder Holland.
Yeah, I'd say that's a "no."

a TBM sibling sent text to me -- LDSdaily article
first photo is ballard standing in front of Vatican bldg --- hmmmm
next is a video (didn't bother to watch) still photo of ballard shaking hands with pope(aka his holiness) at the infamous
gathering of Q15 mtg with pope - for rome "temple"
the ldscorp is all about photo ops and idol statues that signal their total submission to UN, WEF, etc ad nauseum

My money is on Ahmed Corbitt to replace Ballard. He's charismatic, black, and has a professional background at the UN.

They almost have to go black. First Apostle calling since BLM in 2020, first Apostle since 2018; lots of shift since 2018 5 years ago. And yet 3 years past BLM so they could do it now and not be called out for pandering. It wouldn't surprise me if someone else dies between now and this time next year; but anytime after now starts to get a little dicey politically b/c the heat will turn up on politics.
If they are going to do it; now is probably the best time for it over the next ~18months and potentially best time over the next 4-5 years. Get Trump in again and it could be potentially seen as anti-R....

all this reminds me of pro football team pics -which i know nothing about, don't care
its all a game and nonsense - like the catholics watching for "holy smoke" to signal new pope.
the gignormous elephant in the lds corp room is the absolute, total lack of truth and authority regarding "succession"
they just keep up the fraud and hope more members don't wake up before it's "their turn" !!! Q15 have done their time and will do anything
to get to the top

I've known Ahmed Corbett since the 1970's when he was a young man convert from the Philadelphia Getto wearing dred-locks from a single mother household
Pulled himself up by the bootstraps. Married a friend of my late wife - they (the wives) attend the same high school in Pitman, NJ.
He attended law school and worked for the Church in public affairs in New York City, not the UN; although he interacted with UN and other dignataries for the Church.
He was in a Stake Presidency when the President was found to have a another family in Texas besides the one in New Jersey. Ahmed was the only member of the Presidency that was not disciplined. The President was ex'd and the 1st counselor was dis-fellowshiped Interesting, I could never figure that out.
One of his Cherry Hill Stake callings was Stake President, offered me a chance to be on his High Counsel( I declined). He counseled and married my daughter into a bi-racial marriage that went horribly bad. BTW he was 1 hour late to the wedding.
He enjoys attention and seeks advancement. period.

Did he say why he wouldn’t send his own kids to BYU?

I think I'm right in saying the new apostle won't be called until April conference.

Wokeness, and snotty elitism of many students in the business school (he taught accounting, I think).
Peter Johnson actually scares me much, much less as far as "woke creep" than many others.

I knew Peter Johnson and worked with him more recently as he was an SP and Area Authority. His wife is really nice. I don't care for him at all. One of his daughters works at BYU as a DEI person in their athletics department. And she has made some fairly woke comments when people were talking about anti-racism. I hope he is not called as an apostle. In my opinion he has become like the rest of the corporate authorities.

I am sure a good corporate yes man will be called. Race won’t really matter that much as long as a person has been allowed to climb the ladder.

I love the precision in the description:
After a recent brief hospital stay, he returned to his home
where he attended to duties as he was able to before passing away at approximately 11:15 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. He was 95.
I mean, if you are on your death-bed, what "duties" are you attending to? Besides saying goodbyes to your family.
this sounds like hospice care. He went to the hospital. His condition was such that there was little they could do for him. He returned home to be with family during the final days of his life. Very normal.
A sepsis condition. A cancer. An anueirism A strong breeze

How can he be "acting" as President when he is permanently in the hospital, or on dialysis, as far as I have heard. He isn't even acting as an apostle currently. Being president of the 12 isn't an easy job since it involves all the missionary stuff. Someone has to actually do the job.
But maybe ALL of the titles have lost their meaning and are just "symbolic." I don't know.

Having a direct descendant of Cain in the Q15 would stop the racist claims. Might even make them more important than the pope at the UN.

It's just like the President of the Church. If the President is incapacitated he doesn't stop being the President. Look at Monson. He'll be the Acting President-it's a formality. With him incapacitated the duties would fall to the next in line who won't be formally named...that would be Utchdorf.
