I'm being sued by my local City for Not obtaining a permit prior to building a 1 car garage onto my house. If ANY of you know an attorney that still believes in the constitution, I'm looking for one

If the first person that suggested a permit or license was required to do anything had been killed on the spot, we wouldn't have this problem. But, because lazy bastards refused to get involved or thought that killing someone that deserved it was murder instead of a favor to humanity, we live with tyranny.

I have heard that Denver has retired as an attorney. He was a closed trial lawyer and didn't take cases like yours, if I am correct. His office was on about 108th South and State Street in Sandy, Utah. This makes me curious and I will see if his name is still on the big sign out front when I drive in that area again.

The city engineer had me use a poly lam instead. He was right, the 2x10s were failing.

Nobody with a brain builds a house that will fall down. If he is unsure about what materials to use, he will ask someone that knows. Then when the satanic county or city suggests a permit, he simply says "No, thank you. I already looked into it." If a building inspector is sent to see, tell him to knock himself out. Have him sign a paper that says you are in full compliance with all codes and that it was total fraud to require a permit. He will decline. But the pricks will likely leave you alone after that.

It's a long and convoluted story - suffice it to say ultimately I do not believe they have the constitutional right to enforce their building codes, and that I (nor anyone else) meets their definition of Legal Entity; they are operating under the "color of law", not constitutional law. As for building correctly, I've been doing construction my entire life, I had my buddy who is a contractor advising me, and I had my brother in law who has been an architect for 40 plus years advising me on requirements for supporting trusses etc. The city is just another corporation, and unless you've entered a contract directly with them, they have zero authority over you as a private person. Now, will the courts uphold that? Probably not at the district level - cities and judges already very much working together at that level, but at fed appeals level, they arent... still, I would rather have and attorney, rather than argue pro se, which I will do if necessary. I have James Tracy with Affidavits101 helping me write my motions, and he's terrific.
