Lesson started by reviewing scriptural references to the signs of the last days.
One man raised his hand and began speaking about some of the evils of our day. He mentioned LGBTQ....
Teacher more or less kind of got after him for not being "kind."
(I didn't hear him say anything unkind) but it was clear she was upset by his comment and sought to correct his 'hate speech'
Later in the lesson she brought up apostacy.....and asked if we are in apostasy.
She then said our prophet and apostles are going to lead us right into the second coming basically insinuating there is no chance for another apostasy.
Anyways, I was disturbed by the fact truth doesn't even seem to be allowed at church anymore.
There was also part of the lesson that talked about the gruesome martyr of some of the prophets. I'm sure they were probably martyred for being "unkind"

I'm so happy my church calling happens at the same time as SS and RS/EQ so I cant go to them.

In a way I am glad I have to leave immediately after sacrament due to responsibilities at home, or I would stay for SS or EQ.

It’s only going to get worse, until you understand the Davidic Servant has arrived on scene.

I wish you could have played this for the class. I've posted it a few times because it is a wonderful contrast to what we see today. I wonder if president Monson would agree with elder Monson?

How come you had Sunday School today? It's a fifth Sunday.

I'm not really sure why they did that. They held a teacher training for all the adults in teacher callings and they had regular SS for the rest of the adults.

Heard a good broadcast on Catholic radio about how we are commanded to have charity...which is the pure love of christ...but since it is christlike, it cannot be fake, false, or untrue. The talker said real charity would warn people of the consequences of their actions, not pretend it is okay.

Yeah, I agree.

I see it as obeying the 3 greatest commandments without infringing on the others…
1) Love God of truth
2) Love others
3) Love self

IMO, Loving is striving for what’s best - through active faith.

This church changed but a lot of the body of the church (your average member) have changed too. Even in the church, tons of Millennials and Gen X-ers are leftist or moderate-leftist. They have been part of the change you see in your wards just as upper-echelon leaders selling out to the global agenda have.

Those people are being hired out of college to work for the Church. They are influencing a lot of what is happening from Salt Lake City. There are no real conservative universities like the Catholics have with Franciscan University in Steubenville or Ave Maria in Florida. Many Latin mass attendees are traditional young marrieds with children. Bergoglio is trying to stop it. Mormon youth are going left.

When I read your post, I am reminded of something in the scriptures. In the New Testament we are told to not judge. Matthew 7:1. Now it is very interesting that in the Book of Mormon, and also in the JST of Matt 7:1&2 the Lord puts a finer point on this issue and said, Judge not unrighteously, Ah, now even more clear, be careful in judging to judge, righteously.
The Prophets and Apostles of a generation ago were, I believe more clear on this subject and were not afraid to point out the sins regarding this issue, while saying hate and point out the sin, but love the sinner. Now the emphases has slid some I believe and it is more about understanding, and if these thoughts are not acted upon, there may be no sin or may not be so wrong. I do not think President Kimball minced words on this subject, and I do not think we should today. If we do so, we will just get more of it, and that is evident to the spiritually in tune.

I dont go to SS for the same reasons you all listed above.

To many different ways of thinking, soon I hope they do away with it.

EQ is fun because there is no women in there.

I get my SS lessons from youtube while driving to work. Jared Halverson and his unshaken podcast is excellent.

I couldn't agree with you more. I wonder if it's for the sake of more tithing! I'm 68 yrs old, born and raised in thr church and I've seen so many changes, changes that do not go along with scripture but these last 3 yrs. The changes are mind blowing. Disgusting. I believe thr gospel to be true but I also believe man , leaders of thr church have distorted thf gospel. Thryy twist it, change it to suit their desires. That's my humble opinion.

I am a year older than you, and share your experience. The Lord told me things were amiss when I learned about City Creek in 2010, but the reign of Russell Nelson has escalated the downhill slide exponentially. The covid fiasco was one disaster after another. I am grateful it’s all been documented on this forum.

Is there any chance you live near north Texas?
