What a coincidence I'm planning to do a karaoke for the first time in a long time on Thursday.

I also sing base in the choir. I tell the others "nothing is too low for me". I get confused looks for that comment .

I used to be in a choir when I was a teenager. The girls needed auditions, the boys didn't and there were more girls than boys. Try to work out why I joined.

I keep quiet about this as I don't want to be roped into a church choir.
