Pain and suffering

Post by Teancum1 »

I just want to ask my friends here for your prayers for my spouse and 5 children. Our sweet dog passed away tragically this morning. He was my wife’s most loyal and loving companion. He attended her every moment he was with her. The shock and pain of his passing has washed over her and is crushing. Just a few months ago her father passed away in his 80’s. He was another loyal and kind friend to her and she has lost both in the span of just a few months.
I know that God is good. He gives us wonderful gifts- children, animals, relationships and experiences. We don’t thank God enough for all of his kindnesses. He gave us our sweet dog and we had him for 7 short years. I know it may seem a bit trivial but our hearts have been broken.

To any of you have had loss- my heart goes out to you and I pray you will find the Lord in the midst of you pain and suffering. We love the Lord and his goodness and mercy. He gives and takes away- blessed be the name of the Lord. This community has brought me so much comfort, solace and friendship that I cannot thank each of you enough. I pray Gods richest blessings cover you and that His loving kindness fills you with peace.
Shalom shalom.

Losing a loyal dog has to be the closest thing to losing a loved one that we can experience here in mortal probation. It's very HARD.
You and yours will be in my prayers and thoughts, hermano. 🙏❤️

I still think of our dog from when I was a teen
- that’s how much love and connection. She looked mean - a German shepherd mix - but was so sweet. Someone suggested that we shouldn’t have pets because we cage & treat them as slaves. But really, we slave after them (dogs especially- feed, water, bath, clean their bedding etc)… yet they give what we often can’t - unconditional love (& a pre-rinse cycle & quick mop 😉).

Death is part of life but a tough part. I was just talking to someone who spent time in Mexico during “Dia de Muertos” & explained how spiritual and beautiful their celebrations could be. It’s like they also have humor about and mock death… seems healthier than the US where death seems like a taboo topic.

I hope and pray your family is comforted. Your wife losing her father and then also this other family member - has got to be heart breaking.

If it’s any consolation (which it has been to me since I lost my dad this year)… explore some NDE’s and Swedenborg.
Eg:
At 6 mo, his mom threw him in trash, hard childhood, tried suicide, nde: God loves us all so much!

1:11 We have guardian angels - 2 always - 1 with our emotions & 1 w our thoughts. We need to think for ourselves, have faith but only after reasoning for truth.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience and these links. Your description of unconditional love is so true and a likeness in some ways to the love we feel from the Savior.
We are going to have a funeral for Ace tomorrow. And just a celebration of his life and love that he gave us. The thought about Dia de Muertos is a wonderful thought.
Again thanks for sharing these thoughts. We are so appreciative of simple kindnesses
