Well, I’m one of the weirdos on this forum that wishes we could try to stay on topic, though it rarely if ever happens. So if I make a post that is anti-porn and someone gives a CS Lewis quote to support it, and then someone else makes a comment in opposition to that CS Lewis post, and that has an anti-women flavor to it, I can only guess that they are in support of porn or they are anti-women or both. I did ask the question though, so I gave him a chance to explain himself.Enoch wrote: ↑October 24th, 2023, 2:44 pmhmm, I think you're being coy - (don't know if that is how you say it)
So my take was this:
I think that it conveys that some men have marriages where they are ignored, belittled, mocked, threatened with wife leaving, told he isn’t performing well economically, or meeting the wife’s emotional needs, he is slave to the job and a domestic slave to his wife. And particularly in Mormonism the wife has another husband in the church/bishop/stake president that is ready to take over if he doesn't comply.
so maybe because of this particular difficult experience with this particular women it led to the use of porn as a substitute or something to wane down the mental pain, like eating when you're anxious - this could have given him a jaded his view of women but not necessarily...

Ok, so why do you feel it has anti women flavor? Why is it anti-women?
Is the situation that he is plotting not able to happe? Can't women behave in the way he is describing, and does this not have a negative effect on the marriage? If it does and by her actions this is happening how is it anti-women? Wouldn't in this case she have things to change in her life? (not saying he doesn't or anything like that)

Of course there can be bad women. But what the h does that have to do with trying to make porn harder to access for kids?Enoch wrote: ↑October 24th, 2023, 3:13 pmWolfwoman wrote: ↑October 24th, 2023, 2:55 pmWell, I’m one of the weirdos on this forum that wishes we could try to stay on topic, though it rarely if ever happens.
