Did you know the church has a manager of "sustainability"...as in the UN Agenda 2030 "sustainability"?

Meet Jenica Sedgwick...manager of "
sustainability" for the church:

If there is any doubt that the church is about following the UN'S 17 SDG'S of agenda 2030...doubt no longer.
Here are some highlights from a recent newsroom article from the church website:
"
For example, at a recent conference in the United Kingdom focusing on women, religion and climate change, Sedgwick heard inspiring stories of women who lead sustainability efforts around the world."
"
This includes six major sustainability priorities outlined by the Presiding Bishopric:"
1.
Increase energy efficiency and use of renewable resources.
2. Conserve water through waterwise landscape design, smart technology use and water management plans.
3.Avoid material waste through reduction, reuse and recycling; packaging solutions; and building methods.
4. Improve air quality and reduce emissions.
5. Practice sustainable design, development and construction.
6. Engage in sustainable farming and ranching practices.
So...we no longer have the office of a Presiding Patriarch in the church....but we do have a "manager of sustainability"????
We all need to understand what the church has partnered with here...namely the UN and their Agenda 2030 17 SDG'S.
We need to understand where the church wants to take it's members...doing so by subtle injections of those goals into the church system and lexicon.
Be careful what you are following...you may end up doing evil...thinking you were doing good.

That doesn't get anyone closer to Jesus. It drives people away.

That’s the sad part, until the concept of sustainability was completely corrupted, it was considered a good thing — kind of like the Church’s old Provident Living concept. But at this point the whole idea has been hijacked and completely corrupted.

I'm curious how much the church pays her salary?

I thought I belonged to a religious organization, but more and more it looks like it has changed itself into a political party. SMH

Lol yeah I had a major eye roll on that one when I read about it yesterday....
I mean, I'm all for responsible stewardship and being as clean, environmentally friendly as possible - within reason.
But it just feels like the Church is trying to win social points with a diabolically-based society. Seeking their approval.
And I wish they wouldn't play that game. It feels pandering.

I would call it a corporation whose business interests have become more essential than its religious mission. Forest and ranching interests require it to speak about sustainable development. If it were just a church those things would be less important. It could concentrate on preaching Christ instead.

LDS Inc is a business. Religion is its flagship product.

Stewardship is one thing, worship is quite another. Forcing/leading everyone to kneel before the earth idol is wrong ad it just so happens to be one of the biggest power grabbing scams man has ever seen. I read this today. I see it says creature but the entire purpose of the climate thing is supposedly to keep the creatures from extinction and suffering so I think it applies.
Romans 1
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

It's a affiliate of the United Nations i.e. secret combine.

Now that the communists have decided to use "climate change" as a cudgel to destroy life, It's time the church starts talking about "earth stewardship", because, you know, we sort of have to do it, because it's a thing now. But, we'll kind of do it our way, by rolling it into the ongoing restoration, where we'll pretend there's always been a scriptural mandate to sequester carbon.

We are the carbon they wish to sequester. We will learn to accept the 15 minute gulag model for most of humanity or reject it. More people must see and understand the heart-sell proposal to "save our planet." They want everyone to see challengers to their theology as stupid and evil. Can we take care of our earth without a technocratic system? Nope, you must go along with it if you truly care. Lies!
sequester [ si-kwes-ter ]
verb (used with object)
to remove or withdraw into solitude or retirement; seclude.
to remove or separate; banish; exile.
to keep apart from others; segregate or isolate:
The jury was sequestered until a verdict was reached.
Law. to remove (property) temporarily from the possession of the owner; seize and hold, as the property and income of a debtor, until legal claims are satisfied.
International Law. to requisition, hold, and control (enemy property).
to trap (a chemical in the atmosphere or environment) and isolate it in a natural or artificial storage area:
Edit: And the church of my birth is buying into all of it! I assume this sustainability manager is paid with sacred funds. All is well...

She's been working for the church for over 3 years now working closely with Bishop Waddell. He's fabulous... Reading the Deseret news story the church is spending serious cash to reach its sustainability goals. When do we get our SDG pins with DTR in the middle? CTR will be replaced by DTR (Do The Right) to reflect the coming dissolution of our agency.

Yes, "climate change" and "sustainability" do seem more like a form of idol worship. Everyone wants in on the bandwagon... The bandwagon to hell. All aboard!

My biggest problem with these agendas is precisely that they don't help the environment like they claim. Our bosses build factories and use planes, while the peasants get to pay for it.
Is there any silver lining? One thing that always struck me as wasteful are those plastic cups we use for sacrament. I've been to other churches which didn't need to do that. As for farming, I'm sure the church ranches have probably used chemicals galore. Beyond that? Not much.

Reminded me of the little pleated PAPER cups for sacrament - those were nice - and if you could snag one, instead of putting it in tray, it was fun to unpleat them- entertainment value - kept me quiet remainder of mtg

During covid times I machined some little sacrament cups for our family and a few others. It was easy for me to do and I felt like it added to the reverence of home sacrament. Maybe the church will switch to air sacrament so we better conserve water

As far as the church ag program goes let's just say I drive by a few often and appears just like any other monocropping operation. If they cared about sequestering carbon they don't show it in this area yet. I want the soil cared for so we can feed ourselves with nutrient-rich, toxin-free food. If anyone wants to study an amazing topic look up quorum sensing of soil microbes

And when people are forced into their 15 min city and comply bc church leadership will tell them that’s what good global citizens do and they’ll have a fabulous time complying, they’ll speak about how prophetic it was for RMN to have built all those temples so close by! How fabulous it was that he had the foresight to plan in advance, much like it was with home church. “Praise be the man!”
The sheep on this sinking ship of Zion will comply their way to death in the name of obedience.

I wasn't talking about water preservation, I was talking about the fact that every time we used to hold sacrament that we used to chuck away a tonne of those silly plastic cups.
We're the only church I've come across that does that. That actually is wasteful. (The card ones aren't great either.) I don't think it
even occurred to the other denominations I've been to, to have little single use plastic cups like that. Not out of any greenwashing angle... they just didn't do it.
