Here's a question:
What's a guy to do when he realizes that the church (which he feels was founded by a true prophet) has gone off the rails and looks to be doubling down?
I ask this often. I do not know why I am prompted to stay in the church when I can see so much harm. Yet, I dare not disobey and will continue to pray with the brothers and sister in my ward until the day comes when I am prompted to do otherwise.
Perhaps there is a person or persons that we are helping with our example?

Okay, let's talk about Tim Ballard.
First and foremost, I would say that Tim Ballard is innocent until proven guilty when it comes to the crimes he's being charged with.
Second, Tim Ballard is not the kind of man that should have ever received so much attention by people claiming to have the ability to utilize the gift of discernment.
Finally, in my opinion, the entire Tim Ballard saga is not the key story people should be focused on. It is a tragic tale, to be sure, no matter how you look at it, but Tim Ballard is really no different than Denver Snuffer except that he had the backing and approval of several of the General Authorities, which lent him an aura of moral authority he clearly didn't deserve to have. May I tell you what I think is the most important thing about the Tim Ballard saga?
No.
Hold your tongue until you know more.
This needs to be brought to light organically. No putting a stop to the flood of evil that will result from what's behind this Bastard/Ballard saga end until the cleansing is complete.
I should warn you not to defend an alleged abuser. Like sternly warn you.
I'm sorry, but I don't understand. Who is defending him?
Are you proposing that we cast aside one of the founding principles of our society - the presumption of innocence? Because I'm not willing to do that - ever.
As far as his behavior goes that doesn't relate to the crimes he's charged with, you won't find anyone more anti-Tim Ballard than myself. But, my friend, are you quite certain that Tim Ballard is only an abuser, and not a victim as well?
Like, quite certain?
Unless of course you joined a frat or sorority in your youth 80 years ago. Then GUILTY!

Okay, endless, I just finished reading your blog post "Request to Meet w/ Elders Ballard and Christofferson Denied" and had two questions for you:
1. You were accused of exhibiting behavior that leads to apostasy. You kindly asked for specific examples of this behavior and any recommendations for remedying them. Did you ever receive a response and what were those details?
2. Did you receive any information for how lay members instigate a disciplinary council or some other type of common consent hearing for general authority leadership, as was performed in multiple cases w/ Joseph Smith? If so, what is that process?

No, it wasn't anything I ever did. I went to BYU and then back east as grad student with a military centered university working on AI and complex problem solving along with aerospace while flying jet fighters. Too nerdy of a group to attract the partying and drinking crowd usually associated with the collegiate social groups. However, I am from upstate NY, i.e. Palmyra area, of Ivy League types. So, I'm , quite familiar with the social orders. Not too mention I spent a career, after crushing my knee in USAF, with some elite college types in various high tech areas. they all seem to be from their social orders, which usually scrubs each others backs. But nothing much more. Now I have relatives and friends that are lawyers and such that have benefited highly from such associations, but really for engineers and high tech types, it is more what you know and are capable of than who you know and who you partied and drank with.
I suppose it is knowing Babylon but not being part of Babylon vs. either not knowing or not partaking?

New to this topic, and I honestly can't speak to most of the aspects of Elder Ballard's life that have been discussed here, but your criticism of him being a member of Sigma Chi is, I believe, making a mountain out of a molehill. I did join a Greek fraternity during my college days. I'll leave it at that, but I speak from experience. The idea that joining a social fraternity in college now means you have sworn a blood oath to some secret society to now do evil things is kind of ridiculous. My experience in a fraternity included engaging in some immature activities, meeting girls and making some good friends who continue to be my friends today. My only loyalty to the organization is based on good memories and friendships (and an occasional alumni magazine sent to my house). It certainly hasn't been a tool for doing anything evil, committing crimes, making inordinate amounts of money (I wish!), or getting away with anything I shouldn't. There are millions of Americans who have joined fraternities of all types of backgrounds and political persuasions. I think you're barking up the wrong tree on this one.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It sounds very much like the experience my Stake President testifies he has had as a member of Sigma Chi (he wasn’t a member of the church at the time he joined his fraternity).
I would recommend you study everything you can find about the Washington D.C. temple in order to see how the occult secret society brethren might have used their fraternal networks to place each other in positions of power, influence, and gain inside the church. Then take what you learn from that and look at other temples. Then take that and look at how many secret society LDS men profited from the church’s endorsement of the mission of the CIA and the collapse the Iron Curtain. Look at names like Huntsman, Marriott, Staheli, Winder, Clayton, Romney, Bennett, etc. Then read the testimony of apostle of the Lord John A. Widstoe about the conspiring men he overheard plotting to wrest control of the University of Utah and the state of Utah away from the Mormons, and look into what role fraternities on campus might have played in the execution of the plot. Start in 1900 and break it into 40 year intervals to see the planting, sprouting, maturing, and harvesting of Greek life’s UofU bumper crop. Then read Lorenzo Snows 1900 thoughts on secret societies (he was the living prophet at this time).
Since for you fraternity life was more social than anything else, would you be willing to reveal to us which fraternity you’re a member of, the nature of the oaths you made to your brethren during your indoctrination and initiation period (i.e. was it a death oath you made (not a blood oath, I’ve never heard of that in relation to Greek life)), a step by step accounting of your ritual, and any secrets you were taught and possess knowledge of due to your affiliation with your fraternity? If it’s all just childish fun and games as you claim, there should be no problem with doing this, right? And we can trust that if part of your oath was perhaps to be willing to protect those your organization deem worthy at any cost, can you explain to us why we should trust that you are being honest and forthright, and definitely won’t lie to us in this space? If so, what claim to moral authority do you make that can assure us we are being told the truth? Will you offer us your testimony about your fraternal order in the name of Jesus Christ? Will you bring a second witness with you to testify to the truthfulness of what you share with us?
Again, welcome to the conversation. We’re glad to have you here.

nope, when I flew, mostly in the 80's it was difficult to get permission over the US, came close over Mexico (illegally sort of in 1981). Big push not to break windows, sterilize cows, etc... everyone complains when they hear the sounds of freedom in their own home!

2. No. Still working on this.
I wish you the best in your meeting today with your stake pres. I hope it has a favorable outcome for you. I respect that you didn't want to reveal what those behaviors were specifically; whether it was because you hadn't met with him yet or perhaps they were too personal.
Depending on how your meeting goes, etc, if you're comfortable with it, I would be interested in knowing what their allegations are against you with regard to allegedly apostate behaviors. If you're more comfortable PM'ing me, I welcome that, too. I only ask because I wonder if I'm heading toward something similar on my front.

I have a few questions. I've posted many things about Tim Ballard and what I think is going on with that situation. It would have been nice to see your replies to my comments. Many people seem unwilling to change their opinion of the man no matter what. My question is what do you think of TIM. Is he:
1. Completely innocent of wrongdoing and a warrior in the fight to save children.
2. A dirt bag con man, always was.
3. A man who was good but has turned to the dark side.
Another question is do you think all these women making cases against Tim early this year were doing so to stop his senate run that wasn't announced until mid September or do you think he announced a senate run because he knew this crap was coming out against him and he knew people would see these women coming out as a political hit job if he announced a senate run?
I'm glad you're back for a while.
I just learned that Tim Ballard grew up in a community in California, La Cañada Flintridge, home of Jet Propulsion Laboratories. That town, near Pasadena, bhas what I am told is a very significant association with the church. I know nothing about that connection.
JPL is a main player in the military industrial complex and was associated originally with Jack Parsons, an occultist and friend of L Ron Hubbard. A whole industry grew out of the Pasadena area and that hi-tech/satanist movement that may have Incorporated many Mormons loyal to the movement.
You are reaching for a connection that isn't there, solely on the fact that JPL is near where he grew up? Be serious.

A reach, for sure. However, the locale Lan is not just
near where he grew up. It is where he graduated high school, and where his mother still lives; a tiny, exclusive community directly inland from Hollywood with a huge occultic facility that dominates the map within its border. Do you know what kinds of activities are reported to occur within?
"You should know, though, that a lot of people at the cutting edge of technology are into the occult. This is nothing new. For example, in 1946, Jack Parsons, one of the founders of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, went into the desert with L. Ron Hubbard, who later founded Scientology, to do a Crowleyan occult ritual called the "Babalon Working." There is a reason that the foundations of modern science are in alchemy." JP Farrell, gizadeathstar.com
Tim Ballard's whole ascendency to national hero for this movement screams
Groomed Frontman.
(from wikipedia)
He spent most of his childhood life in California, (then) he studied at Brigham Young University (BYU). [His college work would be key in his future endeavors.]
Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served a church mission to Chile before graduating from BYU with a Bachelor of Arts in
Spanish and
political science.
Later, he enrolled at the Monterey Institute of
International Studies and earned a Master of Arts in
international politics.
Tim started his career with the
Central Intelligence Agency, where he worked on issues involving terrorism and Latin America.
He performed as a special agent for the
Department of Homeland Security for almost 10 years, mostly as an
undercover operative.
Now listen to this psychological profile done of Tim on Hidden True Crime channel: Does this sound like the profile of a smart, ambitious hero?

I graduated from the same High School as Tim, I grew up in the same ward as him and his family. I know them well, his father was my high school baseball coach. Your perception of JPL's influence in the community is completely off base. You're grasping at something you don't know anything about.

I will also say strange abuse allegations both sexual and otherwise are often associated with the aerospace industry in my experience and Parsons himself including intergenerational abuse and strange abduction claims.
