Yep, They've had an "Office of Belonging" (DEI Office) since 2022. Just one of the many "fabulous" legacies of Kevin Worthen's inspired leadership condoning the wishes and dreams of progressive faculty and students to not be left behind other universities as they implemented DEI initiatives.Seed Starter wrote: ↑October 18th, 2023, 7:09 pm BYU now has an Office of Belonging? https://news.byu.edu/announcements/asso ... -belonging This looks a lot like a merging of Jesus and worldly things. Here is my breakdown on this:
Diversity and inclusion (anti-racism)
Jesus
Mental health speakers brought to you by perfect 10’s making money off immodesty through their Sports Illustrated connection. What about the honor code?
Women’s collegiate sports
Beauty bar hosted by Maybelline
Female empowerment – making affirmation boards
About affirmations from Wikipedia:
“Affirmations in New Thought and New Age terminology refer primarily to the practice of positive thinking and self-empowerment—fostering a belief that "a positive mental attitude supported by affirmations will achieve success in anything."
In the article it said, “The program will also feature more familiar BYU faces. President Camille Johnson, leader of the church’s global women’s Relief Society, for instance, will join Darger and Diljeet Taylor, the women’s cross country head coach and associate director of track and field, in a panel discussion dedicated to encouraging women to “recognize the unique light within them,” Darger said, and “seek guidance from and strength through Jesus Christ.”
Affirmations are about self-empowerment and having a positive mental attitude supported by affirmations will achieve success in anything. The panel is dedicated to looking at light within and seeking strength and guidance from Jesus. If they are focused on strength from within why have a make-up bar at the event and have it co-sponsored by a make-up company and a hot chicks in bikini company? If they want to recognize the unique light within why bring in women who are obsessed with skin color? I’m very familiar with one of the race speakers. She and her sister began dripping their poison in 2020.
It isn’t enough to treat everyone the same? We must all march in lockstep and be an ally or anti-racist and teach our kids about CRT and equity. This issue is one of the most divisive issues of our time. Those sisters (only 1 is speaking tomorrow) are making a career out of it and creating demand for it. Deseret Book has been pushing an event for these sisters lately. The church wants one of them to be there. If they are looking for light within and through making affirmation boards why focus the discussion on the Savior of all mankind? Save yourselves then. I wonder if these scriptures will come up:

Camille Neddo Johnson (born September 12, 1963) has been the 18th Relief Society General President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) since August 2022. She previously served as the church's 14th Primary General President from April 2021 to August 2022.
Johnson was born in Pocatello, Idaho.[1] She obtained a bachelor’s degree in English in 1985 from the University of Utah and a Juris Doctor degree in 1989 from the University of Utah Law School.[2] Johnson worked as a lawyer for more than 30 years, most recently with Snow, Christensen & Martineau.[1] In her legal career, Johnson worked as an advisor and litigator on issues including risk management, employment claims, Fair Labor Standards Act, ADA, whistle-blowing, procedural due process, and pharmaceutical defense.[3]
More info regarding what Camille did for big pharma in this link.

A little more on the Wyeth case that Camille Johnson litigated.
https://www.pharmatimes.com/news/wyeth_ ... ent_997297
The firm has already set aside almost $17 billion into its legal reserves to settle claims that the obesity drugs were linked to heart valve defects and a condition known as primary pulmonary hypertension. If the amendment wins final clearance later this month, Wyeth would move a step nearer to drawing a line under the diet drug litigation.
Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Inc., a pharmaceutical company acquired by Pfizer, Inc. in 2009, has agreed to pay $490.9 million to resolve its criminal and civil liability arising from the unlawful marketing of the prescription drug Rapamune for uses not approved as safe and effective by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Justice Department announced today. Rapamune is an “immunosuppressive” drug that prevents the body’s immune system from rejecting a transplanted organ.
Of course having a Relief society president who defended pharmaceutical companies against medically injured people seems prudent in the church today. Safe and effective you know requires billions since it’s safe and effective.

Joining the Big 12 has cost BYU its religious identity. I hope it enjoys the extra bucks it gets for selling its soul to Satan.

Reminds me of the principle taught by the story of Esau, the one about trading your birthright for a mess of pottage....
It's sad. It's truly sad what we've become(or maybe it's what we have been for a time and I just couldn't see it before).

Yeah, I know, right? When I posted I was thinking "Super Bowl"...
Years ago in priesthood meeting, we decided to have once a month life lessons, where we discussed "men's empowerment", more or less. Best lessons ever! (Once, even had the SP taking notes and rechecking them to make sure he got them right.) Built core family and quorum. Work/ job/ career, marriage, money, etc. all improved. It might not work for older men, but it helped the younger ones.

Yeah, current thinking of many leaders, yes (unless you want to call an anti-pornography or anti-abuse talk as an "MEE").
Current gospel, absolutely not!

Though Kevin Worthen was at the helm, that was something that came from the top down. Wow, thanks for sharing that. I knew Worthen had commissioned that survey which I thought was partially what led to the creation of the Office of Belonging. Worthen wouldn't be in that position if he wasn't thoroughly "Church Broke" (a term I think was coined on this forum -- Tmac? or was it HVDC? I can't remember who I heard it from first). It means you are conditioned to not do anything that you haven't seen those above you do or that you've been told to do explicitly. Sure, you can say a stake presidency here and there may take some creative liberties in pet programs, but the agenda/goals or strategy/mandate is set from above, like in any "efficient" global corporation.BigFootCain wrote: ↑October 19th, 2023, 10:00 amWow, thanks for sharing that. I always remember the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue as being porn. I guess since BYU supports Sodemy they must subscribe to the idea that anything goes.
