"Fabulous" women's event at BYU - With Camille Johnson, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, Affirmation, etc.

Post by BigFootCain »

Gotta love BYU. Looks like President Shane Reese is going to be as feckless and ridiculous as Kevin Worthen was.

Affirmation, Reps from Office of Belonging, Camille Johnson, Sport Illustrated swimsuit model, this event has it all! (except anything that will actually lead people to Christ through repentance). As long as they broadcast how open minded and diverse BYU can be, that's all that matters apparently.

"The free gathering is open to all female BYU students, faculty and staff."

Aww shucks, I can't attend. Maybe this is the event where I make my debut as a trans women in order to be admitted.

I better start getting ready, it's gonna take me some time to shave off all this matted body hair and then I have to go shopping for some high heels big enough to cover my oversized feet.

Maybe they should have invited Riley Gaines instead.

What we've become is so disappointing... All to appease the world and to enhance our 'appearance' before the world.

If at first you don’t succeed, lower your standards. Seems this is the direction they are going in.

Nah. Just go as you are, but wear a skirt.

I wonder when they are going to hold the next first "Men's Empowerment Event"...

Or perhaps the next first "Men's Conference". And I really, really wish they would, with broadcasts, too.

That's good advice. After thinking about it a little more I believe a skirt wearing sasquatch will still probably look better than a lot of the trans characters that prowl around these days.

As a Scotsman, I strongly encourage the use of a Kilt. I think it would look great on Sasquatch, and might even steal the show.

I wonder if President Kimball's prophecy about the burgeoning growth of the Church due to Relief Society has anything to do with this.

I also wonder if it is, in part, a self-fulfilling prophecy from both sexes, and also the leaders. What's the effect when the Church et. al. support women in all things, all ways, at all times--but rarely give any support to men?

I know a lot of men who aren't paragons of righteousness when treating their women. I also know some men who are dying slow deaths and losing desire for active involvement in good things, due to their wives.

At least we haven't had a pornography General Conference talk directed to men in the past few years. It would have been nice to hear President Nelson say we shouldn't abuse "men" along with "women" and "children" in his General Conference talk. Hopefully he and all future presidents will go the way of a few past prophets and realize the pedestaled view of women is not reality, and the strain it puts on relationships.

"co-sponsored by S.I. and cosmetics giant Maybelline"

I doubt the models will wear their lingerie...err, I mean swim suits, but it's still taking advantage of two things plaguing our people: immodesty and the makeup industry.

I am, again, reminded of Isaiah 3:

16 Jehovah says, moreover,
Because the women of Zion are haughty
and put on airs, painting their eyes,
ever flirting when they walk
and clacking with their feet,
17 my Lord will afflict the scalps
of the women of Zion with baldness;
Jehovah will expose their private parts.
18 In that day my Lord will strip away their finery—the anklets, head ornaments and crescents,
19 the pendants, chains and scarves,
20 tiaras, bracelets and ribbons, zodiac signs and charm amulets,
21 the rings, the noselets,
22 the elegant dress, the shawl, the kerchief and the purse,
23 hosiery, sheer linen, millinery, and cloaks.
24 And instead of perfume there shall be a stench,
instead of the girdle, a piece of twine,
instead of the coiffure, baldness,
instead of the festive dress, a loincloth of burlap;
for in place of beauty
there shall be ignominy.a
25 Your men shall be felled by the sword,
your might overthrown in war.
26 Her gateways shall lie bereaved and forlorn;
she shall sit on the ground destitute.

Don't let them body shame you, Bigfoot. Dawn that kilt, as tmac suggested, and let those hairy legs and Ronald McDonald feet sing.

Open to women?

Does this indicate BYU will enter the culture wars by attempting to define what is a woman?

Edit: Nevermind, they said it is open to "females" and by sticking to the scientific sex term they hope to avoid a gender conflict.

BYU now has an Office of Belonging? https://news.byu.edu/announcements/asso ... -belonging This looks a lot like a merging of Jesus and worldly things. Here is my breakdown on this:

Diversity and inclusion (anti-racism)
Jesus
Mental health speakers brought to you by perfect 10’s making money off immodesty through their Sports Illustrated connection. What about the honor code?
Women’s collegiate sports
Beauty bar hosted by Maybelline
Female empowerment – making affirmation boards

About affirmations from Wikipedia:
“Affirmations in New Thought and New Age terminology refer primarily to the practice of positive thinking and self-empowerment—fostering a belief that "a positive mental attitude supported by affirmations will achieve success in anything."

In the article it said, “The program will also feature more familiar BYU faces. President Camille Johnson, leader of the church’s global women’s Relief Society, for instance, will join Darger and Diljeet Taylor, the women’s cross country head coach and associate director of track and field, in a panel discussion dedicated to encouraging women to “recognize the unique light within them,” Darger said, and “seek guidance from and strength through Jesus Christ.”

Affirmations are about self-empowerment and having a positive mental attitude supported by affirmations will achieve success in anything. The panel is dedicated to looking at light within and seeking strength and guidance from Jesus. If they are focused on strength from within why have a make-up bar at the event and have it co-sponsored by a make-up company and a hot chicks in bikini company? If they want to recognize the unique light within why bring in women who are obsessed with skin color? I’m very familiar with one of the race speakers. She and her sister began dripping their poison in 2020.

It isn’t enough to treat everyone the same? We must all march in lockstep and be an ally or anti-racist and teach our kids about CRT and equity. This issue is one of the most divisive issues of our time. Those sisters (only 1 is speaking tomorrow) are making a career out of it and creating demand for it. Deseret Book has been pushing an event for these sisters lately. The church wants one of them to be there. If they are looking for light within and through making affirmation boards why focus the discussion on the Savior of all mankind? Save yourselves then. I wonder if these scriptures will come up:
