I find it sad that people are trying so hard to find something to criticize instead of taking a really good message and applying it in their lives to help them draw closer to Christ. Fault finding never got anyone anywhere.

Lol.
Think Celestial about those 3 conference stories that were proven to be lies, too. What were they? The woman in the hat, the you didn't read that, and the emergency airplane landing. I think, anyway. That was a good Mormonism Live episode.

I know fault-finding isn't good. But maybe I have some data that you don't or won't believe. Maybe if you knew or could believe that data then Nelson's hypocrisy would make you sick, too. In either case, feel free to think what you'd like to think. There's too much control in the world for me to want to control you.

Didn't that drive you crazy? Why CGI his head onto a suit? Did an actor wear the suit? Why not just sit up at home and wear your suit?

Re: Nelson's Fall 2023 Talk
Somebody online posted this quote from one of Nelson’s talk. While I’d like to say I’m not surprised, I honestly think this man is hellbent on dividing families and hurting relationships:
“The apostle Paul prophesied that in the latter times, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. There is no end to the adversary’s deceptions. Please be prepared. Never take counsel from those who do not believe.”
Did this son of a gun actually say this?

My ex-wife left LDS and is into tarot cards, astrology, law of attraction type stuff. Literally seducing spirits guidiing her life. She even told me that one of her spirit guides told her that I was having an affair with a girl named Sally. I lol'd so loud because i can confirm it was 100% not true and she is being manipulated by satan. She has been teaching my teen daughters these same beliefs as well as anti-christian stuff. I have to tell my daughters to not believe what she says about Jesus and Christianity.

The talk touched me quite a bit. I really like what he had to say about addictions. They can come in many forms, but the Lord is displeased with them. It essentially means prioritizing the addiction over the worship of the Lord.
Those 20 temples that he mentioned in Conference will be built. They won't be built in six months; the earliest I have ever heard of a temple built after announcement was about a year and that was for Oaxaca.
The Salt Lake Temple was 40 years in construction.
More recently the Guayaquil temple was 13 years and the Urdaneta temple was 10 plus years.

If you go to the source of information and listen to the talk, you can skip questions like this, and come up with better ones. Yes he did say what you quoted, within the context of moral decisions. So it confirms that for moral counsel, we should not listen to the United Nations, nor most government officials, doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, school teachers, legislatures, judges, etc, since most of them promote transgenderism, infanticide, homosexuality, immodesty, gambling, and breaking The Word of Wisdom. But we could also make a case that many church leaders may not be believers since they vote for people who promote those same sins, and also financially sponsor those sins through investments in pharmaceutical companies and donations to the NAACP., both of which directly fund infanticide and sexual immorality.
There were a lot of good teachings in the talk, but of course, if we actually apply them then it might cause discipline from the church. I was glad to hear him teach against physical intimacy outside of a married man and woman relationship. I rarely hear that anymore.

I am very upset at a man who is so divisive. My family reads this trash and they further distance themselves from us. His quote is the very definition of a Religious Bigot. I think the church is spiritually and physically abusing my friends and family. Why wouldn’t I be angry and/or upset?randyps wrote: ↑October 1st, 2023, 10:20 pmYou are mad at people. What are you talking about? Yes, families will become divided in the last days, but what this imposter is saying just sucks. I get it, a divide is coming, I should just accept that he is peddling falsehoods. He is claiming that those who leave are on the wrong side of truth. He is claiming that to leave the church is to follow Satan.Blue Marble wrote: ↑October 1st, 2023, 10:37 pmI think your strong opposition to “dividing families” is anti-christian.Reluctant Watchman wrote: ↑October 1st, 2023, 10:34 pmSo you think Nelson is on the Lord’s errand for promoting divisiveness?Blue Marble wrote: ↑October 1st, 2023, 10:28 pm

The church sucks right now. My kids have such tender hearts and this man is stepping on them by turning our family members against us.
I’m out for the night. This stuff just wears on you.

What about Deuteronomy 18:20-22? Rusty was wrong about the vaccines being safe and effective. The First Presidency sent that letter on Church letterhead with the name of the Lord at the top of the page and they did so in their office as prophets, seers, and revelators. They were clearly speaking in the name of the Lord.randyps wrote: ↑October 1st, 2023, 10:08 pmRMN is a prophet in my home. Well, Deuteronomy 18:20-22 says,
So, what Rusty & co. spoke in the name of the Lord didn't happen. In fact, the opposite did because the vaccines aren't safe at all, and they make it more likely that a person gets COVID-19.20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken?
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
I don't see any get out of jail free cards for we thought we needed to do something and we were just guessing. Lying or just mistaken, this seems like a very serious matter to the Lord. The last line seems like a command that we not follow or accept prophets who speak presumptuously. If you disagree, then give us a well thought out explanation on why we don't need to live by those particular words of God, or why those words don't mean what they clearly say.
