I can guarantee you this:
VERY FEW people would go to this event because of Bednar.
A LOT of people will go to this event because of the CEO firepower in different tech jobs that are going to be there.
This is a Silicon Slopes convention after all.
Maybe they want to rival SXSW in TX or the conventions back in CA.
I think the salient point is "why is Bednar choosing to be there and speak?" . Does it fit his current calling as a living Apostle of Jesus Christ ? ....or does it more fit his actual job profile of managing a corporation with estimated cash/assets/reserves value of near one trillion dollars?
He's a charlatan as an Apostle and a master of business/politics. He's a hollow man in a suit.

Well Jesus was called a winebibber and hanged out with the sinners. This would be the common retort.
I don't remember Jesus (or the Apostles) rubbing their shoulders with the high-and-mighty. I distinctly remember Jesus calling one of them a b**ch when it was told to him to stop his work in Jerusalem.

In a modern setting, I could see Jesus having a beer with the regular joes but never champagne with the suits.
*sigh... the only thing to do is wait for a miracle because it's the only hope there is. The sheer inertia of what is now happening cannot be stopped by any man nor group of men until this all burns down....and...'they' know it. The bible prophecy clearly states that it all goes bust ...down to nothing.... before it gets better. I guess we have a while.

I think I remember you posting about how Bednar was a favorite of yours but your wife didn't love him or vice-versa. Bednar used to be one of my favorites even entering the covid era but sadly that veneer has sluffed off over the last few years. I see Bednar as the ideal cookie-cutter shape for a male Utah member. If you have a compliant wife, no-nonsense haircut, the right mix of degrees, a few good suits, and a lightning-fast right arm to be the first to volunteer for church callings you might make it

Yeah, I have historically liked Bednar and my wife hasn't. The one I REALLY don't like is Rasband.
