'Bout time!!!FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Protesters began gathering at state Capitols and in neighborhoods and town squares across the country Wednesday to kick off a series of tax-day protests designed to echo the rebellion of the Boston Tea Party. Demonstrators said they're steamed about government spending since President Barack Obama took office.
Since Obama took over? Out of control spending goes back decades! Heck, our national debt doubled under compassionate, christian conservativeGW Bush and his administration, which managed to out-spend all others in the history of the country!
This time, many carried makeshift pitchforks and signs with messages aimed at the Democrats who control Congress and the White House.
"There needs to be some common sense restored to government at every level, Washington, in our state and in our towns," said Faith Burns of East Granby, who rang a school bell and wore a sandwich board with a picture of a pig in a circle crossed out. "And besides it's so much gosh-darned fun to ring this bell."
In Des Moines, Iowa, more than 1,000 people gathered on the steps of the state Capitol wearing red shirts proclaiming "revolution is brewing."
"The system is severely broken and we the people let it get that way," said Des Moines businessman Doug Burnett. "What can we do? My answer is revolution."

Re: Tea parties turning into 'government' protests today
I took 12 people with me and we stormed my hometown
We had our handmade signs... "Down with tyranny! End the IRS!" , "Liberty is all the stimulus we need!", "Save the tea. Dump a politician in the harbor." and my son's favorite "Even GOD only asks for 10%".
Even though I recognize this was purely symbolic and won't likely have any impact, it made me feel good to teach my children that we must always stand up for what we believe.

I wish more of these dumb protesters would have followed Glenn's advice and not make it about Obama. So annoying. And the main reason why I chose not to attend after seeing others say it was just a bunch of republican clowns saying they hate Obama. Wake up useful idiots!
Hopefully we can plan our(liberty minded folk) own rallies in the future where they won't be highjacked by the neocons.

I attended the TEA party in Orlando and they did a good job of making it NOT about Obama or the democratic party. They talked about the history if the IRS - from zero pages of the tax code to 67,000 in a mere 200 years. They stressed the importance of reading and knowing the constitution/bill or rights, talked about the free tax, how God played into the founding fathers lives, etc. There were a couple thousand people there easily. Glad I went.
