A New Way To Present Church History - The Gradual Gutting Of The Gospel
Since I still have not mastered how to insert pictures into this text system, I'm going to offer a link to some Google drive space where I can have complete control of the format of my five-page presentation.

FYI, the google drive link needs to have permissions opened in order for people to view the file. Select the doc, hit “get link” and then choose the permission type.

I still can't view this without using Google Drive or Google Chrome i try to boycott Google (except maybe YouTube). Is there a way into this for people who don't want to use Google spyware?

It looks like each ward or stake owned its own church buildings before 1923. Did I understand that right?

I usually will run it (on linux) using firejail, or if I'm extra paranoid, in a virtual machine. If you're using Windows, a program called Sandboxie will do about the same thing. It prevents your browser from accessing or changing anything outside of (by default) your personal "Downloads" folder.

I believe that is true. There were a number of early wards which were incorporated as a "corporation sole" just like the central church is. I know in my country ward in Spanish Fork, over about an 80 year period, I believe the first three buildings used as a church were built and owned locally. I assume that many local wards owned their own churches for a long time even after 1923, but apparently, eventually the church took control of all new buildings, at least. As best I can tell, the 1923 event mostly meant that the church leaders took total control of everything the church then owned centrally. They certainly claimed ownership of all the tithing money they had, and the few temples and property, and all the tithing money coming in, so that church members no longer had anything to say about what happened in Salt Lake City. Before that the church members elected a trustee every year to administer property for them, since the church was an "unincorporated association" before that time. At that point, as a corporation sole, just like the Catholic Church, the church leaders did not have to listen to the church members at all. In fact, anyone except the president of the church legally had no input to what decisions were made concerning property. At this point, voting in conference is a nearly meaningless ritual, at least not having the slightest legal effect as it previously did.
I haven't spent a lot of time studying this problem, so my above summary is the best I can do.

I will try some other possibilities, and let you know.

Maybe Dropbox will work? I can't tell if the permissions are right. Naturally, it works for me. Maybe I will try to post a picture directly?
