“Prior to 1642, Russia and China had no diplomatic or military interaction.”

“In the intervening 334 years, China and Russia never established a de facto alliance. At times that were at odds and, during the last 50 years, U.S. policy made it a priority to keep a wedge between Moscow and Beijing. That is over. China and Russia are now allies, with China being the largest industrial power in the world and Russia the largest supplier of critical commodities. Their political union marks the end of Pax Americana and the U.S. domination of the international order.”

Yawn.

“The pitiful state of America’s power was on display as it tried in vain to sabotage the Putin/Xi summit:

An information campaign stating that Xi Jinping will not come

Threats against China if Xi Jinping comes

Requirements for China to condemn Russia

Requirements for China not to supply weapons to Russia Only the West has the right to supply weapons to Ukraine.

Statements that any Russian-Chinese agreements will not matter

Hasty organization of the Japanese Prime Minister’s visit to Ukraine on the day of Xi’s visit

The death of Chinese workers in the Central African Republic

Announcement of hasty deliveries of new weapons to Ukraine

Declassified intelligence documents aimed at blaming China for the origin of the coronavirus

We began to equip a new military base in the Philippines

The Biden Administration is flailing in its response to this new alliance. The loss of American influence in the world is not going to happen overnight, but the process has started. Remember this day. It will change the lives of your children and grandchildren. Let us pray that is for the good.”

The USSR was in alliance with the ChiComs for a substantial period. After Stalin died, Mao decided he wanted to rule the roost instead, but the Soviets still gave Red China the A bomb, and ICBM technology. The Soviets and PRC co-operated on Korea, Vietnam and helping South East Asia turn Communist. They also co-operated on certain African and Latin American issues, despite their uneasy relationship

No problem. I took that as re(a)d. China and Russia are definitely the odd couple. Their alliance is not as close as the NATO countries for example... and China has had its eyes on Siberia for a while.

Does anyone remember what happened then. :?:

So today is 22/03/23.
How everyone should do it (and many do already):

Year/Month/Day
2023/03/22

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

At least it's the way that makes most sense for sorting, archiving, alphabetizing, etc.
When dates are given, the year is typically irrelevant. That's why it comes last. Not enough people read history to support a second date format, I guess. I think it's a human vs computer thing. Like, kelvin makes more sense than Celsius or Fahrenheit, but we don't use those. Fahrenheit makes more sense for people since the normal temperature ranges we deal with are between 0 and 100. It's a good human scale.
