Now, chances are, many members of the forum will never have seen this painting. When I saw it, it was hanging on a wall to the entrance of the women’s dressing room in a temple, so I don’t expect many of the men on the forum to respond, but perhaps this will ring a bell for some of the women.
I don’t remember which temple I was in when I saw this painting. It was decades ago, but it left an indelible impression upon me that I haven’t forgotten.
The painting was of a woman sitting in the clouds, surrounded by many small children. Some of the children were on her lap, some were playfully climbing on her back, and some were just frolicking close by.
The woman was very much the focal point of the picture, and she had a gaze that was straight forward and steady, even with all of the “action” that was taking place in the rest of the scene.
I would love to find out more about this painting, and if this jogs anyone’s memory, I would appreciate any information that might steer me in the right direction.
Thanks!
