The Dubai Temple

Post by Ebenezer »

The church announced that a temple would be built in Dubai 3 years ago. No groundbreaking has happened yet. The church claims that they were invited to build a temple there, and that they accepted the invitation. The temple will serve 2 gulf-state stakes.

The temple will be built in District 2020, which has all the characteristics of a 15-minute city.

The church stated:

"The Dubai United Arab Emirates Temple will be located in Dubai's District 2020 where the worldwide event Expo 2020 Dubai will be held. In late 2022, District 2020 is expected to begin the handover process to future occupants. Once handover to the Church has been finalized, construction can begin on the temple and a meetinghouse at the designated site."

I don't know yet if the church has been "handed" their designated parcel, which might explain why no ground has been broken.

This temple has always felt off to me, and now even more so after learning about District 2020.

I found this local news piece referring to the temple in Dubai. Apparently the parcel has been handed out, but the government and local Church authorities are currently going through the design process.

It is also said that once the final approvals are met, it will take approximately three years to construct the edifice.

There will be a meetinghouse built next to the temple that will also serve as a type of visitor's center.

It makes sense that it takes a bit to combine Islam and Christianity, let alone see where a little side cult fits in. But the profit talks so they’ll find a way. ;)

“Since the elites triggered mass migration to the west, a merger of Christianity and Islam became the main goal of the one world religion. ... THE CATHOLIC-MUSLIM INTERFAITH COUNCIL CREATED BY POPE FRANCIS ANNOUNCES NEW CHRISLAM HEADQUARTERS OPENING IN 2022 THAT COMBINES A MOSQUE AND CHURCH ACCORDING TO SIGNED COVENANT. The United Arab Emirates ... the Abrahamic Family House, on the Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi (near Dubai)…” https://www.churchloaded.com/about/one- ... dquarters/

It really would be pretty easy to integrate Mormon doctine and Islam since Mormons believe Jesus has progressed to his status as a God.
