There will be continued speaking out of both sides of the mouth- 1. The brethren are inspired and manage the Lord's finances responsibly although the church is made up of imperfect humans who make mistakes sometimes. 2. Follow the brethren. They speak for Jesus Christ directly and can never lead or be led astray.

As with their complete and utter screw-up with EVERYTHING covid...they won't say a word.

Nothing to see here...cased closed.

I'm guessing they will remove the audit report, similar to phasing out the statistical report. Otherwise, veiled references.

As a side note, I used to joke that if I ever had to speak in Conference I would want to be the audit guy because he had the easiest job. Not anymore!

They said they consider the matter closed so I take them at their word.

I do have a certain sense of anticipation though. I'll probably be watching.

Another good question is how much will this cost the church in tithing, how much will it drop.

The latest I've heard is that the church brings in somewhere around 8 billion in tithing. The fines only total 5 million, but tithing might drop as much as 500 million. Of course, 7 1/2 billion will still get things done.

It would be a great time to announce a major “revelation” to distract and get everybody talking about something else in a similar way to the #givethanks campaign got everybody talking about something else and completely neutered the potential LDS response to the 2020 election fraud.

24 silence, out of 42 for fifty-seven percent. 8-)

So shall vote refrain in support of supporting 57% :lol:

Now 26 of 46 for same 57%

I'm more interested to see if anyone in attendance votes a NO on sustaining votes for the FP AND Q15. Could get interesting.

I dunno, and I’m not sure I really care. I’ve stopped watching conference since Covid started, and even When I did, slept through most of it. Tbh it’s usually quite boring, and much of what is said is only surface level inspiring.

I really think they'll respond to this one, not sure why, but it's huge, an explanation will need to be given and it will be addressed.

What was the LDS response to election fraud? I didn't know there was an official, or quasi-official response.

There wasn't any, just a congratulatory note given to President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, though this was NOT given when the media declared the winner, but after the electoral counts had been finalized in December.

Then they condemned the actions of January 6th.

//STATEMENT 14 DEC 2020

We congratulate President-elect Joe Biden on his election as President of the United States. We also congratulate Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.

We invite people everywhere, whatever their political views, to join us in praying for this new administration and for leaders of nations around the world. Praying for those in public office has been a practice of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since its founding. The men and women who lead our nations and communities need our prayers.

We thank President Donald Trump and Vice President Michael Pence for their public service and wish them and their families well in their future endeavors. We commend all those who engaged in the election process at a national or local level. Their participation in our democratic process, by its nature, demands much of those who offer themselves for public service.

May our local, national, and world leaders be blessed with wisdom and judgment as they fulfill the great trust afforded to them by the people of the world.

//END STATEMENT

//STATEMENT 15 JAN 2021

Principles of government that allow God’s children to maintain human dignity and freedom belong to all mankind. (see Doctrine and Covenants 98:5).

With great concern we observe the political and cultural divisions in the United States and around the world. We condemn violence and lawless behavior, including the recent violence in Washington, D.C. and any suggestion of further violence. While The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is neutral in matters of party politics, we remind our members—whatever their individual political views—to be united in our commitment to the Savior Jesus Christ and His teachings. As His followers, we should treat one another and all of God’s children with respect, dignity, and love. No political or other affiliation should supersede that covenant and sacred responsibility.

We urge all people to remember the precious and fragile nature of freedom and peace. As citizens of the United States look ahead to the inauguration of a new president, we urge our members to honor democratic institutions and processes, and to obey, honor, and sustain the law (see Articles of Faith 1:12).
