We’re seriously considering exiting Utah for climbs that aren’t so eager to implement Agenda 2030. We how include proximity to railroad tracks in our list of wants and needs.

Interestingly enough, there is not a single rail in Duchesne county.

Duchesne county is a very attractive area for MANY reasons.

Included with Uintah County, the Uintah Basin has limited access which I think would make it very defensible. Basically iirc there is Indian Canyon (very narrow and could be defended by a relatively small force), the canyon coming down from Strawberry Reservoir, Back roads from Heber that come thru to Tabiona, and the road across Flaming Gorge Dam. That is pretty limited access to a large area. Of course this is only considering ground forces and especially defense against "roaming bands of undesirables"

Generally salt of the earth people. Of course, that's a general statement, there are certainly the fair share of thieves and other riff raff BUT I think especially in a grid down situation, the Basin could revert to a kind of "frontier justice" where cattle rustling and other property and violent crimes would be dealt with swiftly and severely. That's just my opinion having lived in Bluebell for most of the 70s and a good part of the 80s and a lot of family and friends in the area.

Could be energy and food independent super easy. Lots of people with great skills for a grid down event or societal breakdown.

About the only downside is I think they are considered "downwind" of Hill AFB on Joel Skousen's strategic relocation maps.

But seriously, if you think the world is going to heck, there are tons of worse places you could be.

The US experiences about 1,700 train derailments per year. That's about 144 per month.
