Bishop: You look at porn? (Oh good! Had me worried.)
This is what a co-worker who is also a bishop of another ward told me he feels or thinks whenever he hears a youth confess to him. To him it's a confession of being straight. I know many of you are thinking: well, maybe they're looking at gay porn. But apparently he gets enough info from the individual to "discern" that they are straight. But, HOLY COW! This blew me away.

Yeah, nobody’s discerning anything right now. Porn has bad connotations whether it’s straight or gay.

What an idiot. If a youth is looking at porn they will absolutely encounter same-sex sexualized naked bodies. That is NOT GOOD for any young brain. The websites and places where those things are found have the most degrading, vile, sexualization. In fact, I can almost guarantee that a significant number of youth have found their way to the rainbow crowd THROUGH porn . . .looking at straight porn and then curiosity goes one way, and continues to go until . . .
This man should never be a Bishop just by the fact that he does not comprehend this.
Porn today is not the porn of yesterday like a Playboy magazine where it's only naked women, or even Hustler where it is more graphic naked women. That was bad enough . . .today it is so incredibly horrible. . .
The Bishop needs to be floggged.

What's so straight about a male watching another male having sex?Daniel wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2023, 7:32 am This is what a co-worker who is also a bishop of another ward told me he feels or thinks whenever he hears a youth confess to him. Viewing porn is 'natural'. And the Natural Man is an enemy to God. We are to overcome the Natural Man. The point that Daniel is making about his bishop friend is the sense of ironic relief that he feels in dealing with youth and porn. You can work through porn, eventually. You can't replace body parts that Satan has suggested that you shop off. Hence the bishop's relief.

Bishop might want to know that most professional porn is made by trans actors. Ask Jenna Jamison - she's speaking out now.Daniel wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2023, 7:32 am This is what a co-worker who is also a bishop of another ward told me he feels or thinks whenever he hears a youth confess to him. Also, Bishop needs to be slapped with a 2x4 - at least.
Also also, parents need to get their kids the hell out of those closed door meetings with a grown man asking them details about their porn watching habits deciding what those kids are attracted to.

Really? So if you watched a couple dudes going at it long enough you would want to join them? Guarantee that could never happen to me, in fact, quite the opposite.spiritMan wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2023, 7:51 amOh my goodness . . .SMDH.Daniel wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2023, 7:32 am This is what a co-worker who is also a bishop of another ward told me he feels or thinks whenever he hears a youth confess to him. If pornography has more than one performer, there will inevitably be some homosexual aspect to it. Either between the performers or between the viewer and viewed.

For someone who is mature-probably not. The idea of watching that grosses me out, so that's a negative dude.djinwa wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2023, 1:37 pmReally? Re: Bishop: You look at porn? (Oh good! Had me worried.)
In my experience, 99% of bishops wouldn't know what discernment was if it walked up and slapped them in the face. Discernment requires correct knowledge and I have yet to meet one single bishop, stake president, or Area Seventy, or any of the leadership who understands or even knows what Joseph Smith taught about discernment. What the Church teaches about discernment does not resemble what Joseph taught.Daniel wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2023, 7:32 am This is what a co-worker who is also a bishop of another ward told me he feels or thinks whenever he hears a youth confess to him. This is the Church's teachings on discernment.

This is Joseph Smith's teachings on discernment.

Pronography isn't a good thing. It's no better for a person now than it was 100 or 1,000 years ago.
I guess the main issue is the softening of the Church's stance towards homosexuality as a result of external societal pressure. It is hypocrital for say a so-called "progressive Mormon" to bend over backwards accepting and promoting homosexuality while demonizing pronography use. Quite frankly, open homosexuality is a far more grievous sin than pronography use. But one thing that is often overlooked is how closely related the two are.
