A Blessing In Disguise

Post by lundbaek »

I think I've finally figured out why I never got as fluent in the Danish language on my wife's and my mission in Denmark as I wanted to be, in spite of my fervent prayers for help to learn to speak Danish better.

Some guy once said:

"A smart person knows what to say.
"A wise person whether to say it or not."

This reminds me of the times on our mission in Denmark when I wanted to say something in Danish, but I did not because I could not. Looking back on those times, it is probably good that I could not. It took me a long time to figure that out.

The gift of languages can work in both ways. ;)

I'm glad I wasn't blessed with many things I had wished I had been blessed with at certain times, like being cool and social, etc., in high school. Who knows where I might have ended up...
