Were Brigham and co money counterfeiters?
Here is a half hour long Hemlock Knots video I hadn't seen before showing how many of the 12 have a history of being charged with money counterfeiting and that that may be the reason for fleeing Nauvoo.
For believers in the "secret chamber", this is not far-fetched. What do the rest of you think of this video?

It seems they were serving the Lord's desire to bleed the Beast, or Mammon's Babylonian Dollar, which has become an abomination and unconstitutional. Cheers to them. I wish the current 12 were so virtuous in trying to bleed the Beast. Brigham and Co go up in respect in my book. Thanks for posting.

Re: Were Brigham and co money counterfeiters?
They should make this into a movie. “Brother Brigham and the Counterfeit Crusade”.
"Brother Brigham and the Counterfeit Crusade"
The year is 1869, and the Wild West is in full swing. Brother Brigham, a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is tasked by the Lord with a holy mission. The Lord has revealed to Brother Brigham that the Babylonian money system, controlled by corrupt bankers and politicians, must be brought down. The only way to do this is by creating counterfeit money and "bleeding the beast."
With his trusted sidekicks, Brother Brigham sets out on a wild adventure to gather the materials and manpower necessary to produce the counterfeit cash. Along the way, they run afoul of bandits, gunfighters, and other dangers. But nothing can stop Brother Brigham from completing his divine mission.
As they flood the market with fake currency, the economy of the Wild West starts to collapse, and the powers that be are forced to take notice. The stage is set for a final showdown, as Brother Brigham and his team face off against the forces of greed and corruption.
This campy Western is full of humor, action, and heart, as Brother Brigham and his ragtag band take on the "Babylonian beasts" and show that even in the lawless Wild West, the power of faith and determination can triumph over greed and corruption.

Re: Were Brigham and co money counterfeiters?
Intriguing stuff, right. This is a subject that I fell into from looking into some reoccurring events surrounding the printing presses along the saints' migrations, particularly the senior leadership. I'll include links below for more context, but here is the summary of what stood out to me for some reason.
1. Kirtland: Joseph, Emma and Sidney flee in a January night, having excommunicated 28 more saints a few weeks earlier. Sheriff had seized the press. A few days after Joseph's departure, the press was burned down by an unknown arson.
2. Far West: (had been flourishing up to this point) Joseph arrives. Cowdery ships a press and type sets, and I believe Far West already had a press. More saints from Kirtland arrive. Within that same year Far West is raised and they flee to Nauvoo. Upon their departure the press (that was shipped by Cowdery?) was hidden/buried somewhere in Far West. Don't know if the original one was destroyed.
3. Nauvoo: Printing press burned down. A week or so later Joseph is across the Mississippi on his way to Utah.
Originally, I thought it was interesting that the press the sheriff seized in Kirtland was burned down and they all fled across state lines.
The allegations of counterfeiting, however, did not end with Joseph's murder. They continued with Brigham. Not sure what it all means, though, if anything.

For those with eyes to see and ears to hear there seems to be a substantial and growing amount of circumstantial evidence. If there is one thing that is becoming clearer and clearer it is that everything is probably not necessarily as we have always been led to believe.

It does raise the question of why we should tithe when the church can print it for you.
Much the same applies to government taxation.
