Church takes scripture out of context to promote...wokeness.

Post by The Red Pill »

The LDS website has a story about the 12th International Art Competition, which references 2 Nephi 26:33...as the reason for their predetermined theme of "all are alike unto God"

"This exhibition of the 12th International Art Competition features recent work of 148 Latter-day Saint artists from around the world exploring the gospel message that “all are alike unto God,” as taught in 2 Nephi 26:33. Among the varied themes found in this rich body of work, viewers will see expressions of inclusion, diversity, community, and the redeeming love of Jesus Christ for all humanity."

Link: https://history.churchofjesuschrist.org ... ition/2022

Only one little problem...the main theme of the chapter has NOTHING to do with their PREDETERMINED theme of the art competition.

Here is the chapter description:

CHAPTER 26

"Christ will minister to the Nephites—Nephi foresees the destruction of his people—They will speak from the dust—The Gentiles will build up false churches and secret combinations—The Lord forbids men to practice priestcrafts. About 559–545 B.C."

Where are the words inclusion, diversity and community in this chapter heading?

What do we find in chapter 26 when we drill down into it?

20 And the Gentiles are lifted up in the pride of their eyes, and have stumbled, because of the greatness of their stumbling block, that they have built up many churches; nevertheless, they put down the power and miracles of God, and preach up unto themselves their own wisdom and their own learning, that they may get gain and grind upon the face of the poor.

21 And there are many churches built up which cause envyings, and strifes, and malice.

22 And there are also secret combinations, even as in times of old, according to the combinations of the devil, for he is the founder of all these things; yea, the founder of murder, and works of darkness; yea, and he leadeth them by the neck with a flaxen cord, until he bindeth them with his strong cords forever.

Can't quote 20-22...that strikes a little close to home. Urging deadly jabs, UN partnerships, hidden 150 billion fund...

26 Behold, hath he commanded any that they should depart out of the synagogues, or out of the houses of worship? Behold, I say unto you, Nay.

27 Hath he commanded any that they should not partake of his salvation? Behold I say unto you, Nay; but he hath given it free for all men; and he hath commanded his people that they should persuade all men to repentance.

Sounds like a call to repentance to me. To come partake of salvation....AT NO COST.

29 He commandeth that there shall be no priestcrafts; for, behold, priestcrafts are that men preach and set themselves up for a light unto the world, that they may get gain and praise of the world; but they seek not the welfare of Zion.

30 Behold, the Lord hath forbidden this thing; wherefore, the Lord God hath given a commandment that all men should have charity, which charity is clove. And except they should have charity they were nothing. Wherefore, if they should have charity they would not suffer the laborer in Zion to perish.

31 But the laborer in Zion shall labor for Zion; for if they labor for money they shall perish.

They really avoided verses 29-31... because it REBUKES them. Hard to justify 152K base pay and 150 billion slush funds at Ensign Peak Advisors after reading this.

32 And again, the Lord God hath commanded that men should not murder; that they should not lie; that they should not steal; that they should not take the name of the Lord their God in vain; that they should not envy; that they should not have malice; that they should not contend one with another; that they should not commit whoredoms; and that they should do none of these things; for whoso doeth them shall perish.

Verse 32 sounds like a reminder of the 10 commandments and stern warning to me...

33 For none of these iniquities come of the Lord; for he doeth that which is good among the children of men; and he doeth nothing save it be plain unto the children of men; and he inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile

Verse 33 is a call to repentance, to put iniquities behind you. It is calling ALL TO REPENTACE.

IT'S ALL ABOUT PUTTING AWAY INIQUITY AND REPENTING...PERIOD!

But....the church needed wokeness. It needed the UN language in it's messaging...so they deceptively do a word search for something that sounds good to please their overlords at the UN...and twist this chapter and meaning of this chapter to something it IS NOT.

Disgusting....as is much of the "art" in the competion.

Acts 13
10 And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

2 Nephi 28
15 O the wise, and the learned, and the rich, that are puffed up in the pride of their hearts, and all those who preach false doctrines, and all those who commit whoredoms, and pervert the right way of the Lord, wo, wo, wo be unto them, saith the Lord God Almighty, for they shall be thrust down to hell!

1 Nephi 13
27 And all this have they done that they might pervert the right ways of the Lord, that they might blind the eyes and harden the hearts of the children of men.

Expressions of inclusion, diversity, community, and the redeeming love of Jesus Christ for all humanity. Yes, Jesus allows all the opportunity to repent and come unto him. He does not keep any from putting off their sins and repenting nor does he fail to forgive those who do regardless of their race or culture. He allows all the opportunity to obey his commandments and reap the blessings of eternal life if they will just follow him. However, this does not mean that he allows inclusion, diversity, and community within his kingdom for those who practice abominations. What he does do is allows all the opportunity to repent and receive forgiveness of sin upon repentance. No unclean thing can inherit the kingdom of Heaven. Thus there is no acceptance of sin in the least degree. There is inclusion for all to receive forgiveness upon repentance but there is no inclusion of the abominable to inherit the kingdom. The forsaking of sin is without question, the uncompromising principle of God and his kingdom. Likewise God expresses inclusion, diversity, and community in denying entrance into the kingdom for all those who do not repent and come unto him. No matter what race or culture you have, you can still be kept out from the kingdom of God if you fail to accept his laws and established ways of obtaining forgiveness of sin and obeying the laws of his kingdom.

And how do you know he’s talking to the church when he uses the word “Gentiles”?

Verse 29 accuses them of priestcrafts in the middle of a string of verses listing their crimes.

Secular organizations don’t operate in priestcrafts.
