Just dropped in
Newish to the forum here, been following for a while. Finally decided to join the discussions.
Quick summary about me. I'm currently a Diesel Technician. 34-year-old male. Served 7 years in the Navy in place of a mission. Been a member of the Church my whole life.
I know some big discussions here involve the authenticity of current church leadership and Joseph Smith's involvement (or not) with polygamy. Regard less I personally know that Joseph Smith was called of God and the Book of Mormon is true and pertinent to our time. I do find some of the currently church leadership's decisions stand some scrutiny. Promoting the jab, donations to the NAACP, promoting UN decisions. The constant promotion of all-inclusiveness, tolerance and being "good global citizens" is very pathetic. From my personal observations, our modern priesthood brotheren, are weak frail men who are violating the word of wisdom at every turn with their obesity. Secret combinations and our looming danger of socialism requires observations that church membership is lacking. I personally think socialism/communism is Satan's greatest weapon against humanity.
TRUTH. That is what society is lacking. I'm not an emotional person and am not afraid of facing truth. Too many people now days get upset and pull-out emotional knives when told the truth or any form of constructive criticism.
My quick hot take on dating and feminism. Feminism has destroyed relations between men and women. Women have become loud and obnoxious, and men are weak pansies. It's my viewpoint that this is a secret combination used to user in communism to America. And dating has never been fun for me, I look at it with a great amount of cynicism. I have carved dating out of my life like the horrible parasite that it is. I realize that marriage is an ordination of God. I can't not however advocate it for any male of the human species (at this time).
To end this post on a positive note. I know Jesus Christ exists. And it is by following him that truth can be manifest. The Book of Mormon is testament of such. The Constitution was ratified by men inspired by God.

Re: Just dropped in
I'll admit to this. And I'm not mad at women, I'm mad at myself for being overly desirous and lacking self-disciple in the past. However finding great ones is like looking for a rose in a thorn maze.
SR-71 Blackbird, I've always admired that aircraft.

Me, too… even when it’s sitting on the runway, leaking fuel everywhere. And the F14 Tomcat, but that’s because of the era I probably grew up in.

I love the F14. I do understand the Navy's reasoning for its retirement.Dusty Wanderer wrote: ↑December 21st, 2022, 6:36 pmMe, too… even when it’s sitting on the runway, leaking fuel everywhere. And the F14 Tomcat, but that’s because of the era I probably grew up in.

Re: Just dropped in
When I was in the church years ago I had another user name on the forum. I was aghast that people would even question the prophet. It was one of the reason why I left after a short stint because, in my mind, some people were dreaded apostates and they should be avoided at all costs.
I recently searched for that username and I cringed at the few remaining posts that still exist.

I can understand how that can scare off any devote member of the church off.Reluctant Watchman wrote: ↑December 21st, 2022, 8:17 pmWhen I was in the church years ago I had another user name on the forum. The pandemic brought alot to light. I'm not going to say they are false or fallen prophets and apostles, I don't have the authority to judge them in that capacity. But I can not in good conscience take their word as absolute, in fact I ignore them for the most part. I find the scriptures and personal revelation to be more reliable.

You'd better take some authority. God expects you to operate in truth. Remember, it was they who told you that you cannot evaluate them. Don't go along with their idolatry.
I agree that the scriptures are a 1000x more useful than them, these days.

Re: Just dropped in
Speaking of women, strange stuff certainly happened.
On March 8 in 5 different years I met a fine female with CH in their name.
search.php?keywords=SSPS+
Another added to the list of SSPS.
There’s another one about being named after the guy that almost got the world blowed up. Me thinks he was flying a U2 on Mayday 1960. Operation Oversight is a book about the pilot that crashed his helicopter soon after the incident. Perhaps being peculiar serves a purpose, but the DS has fled, so best to batten down the hatches.

Welcome aboard,
I'd say go down to south America to look for a wife. More likely to find a woman that's not as materialistic, also better chance that they were raised with a Christian background.

Re: Just dropped in
I had a hard time getting "Da Gurlz" in high school, and I told myself back then I need to accept that fact that I might go through life alone. Now days I just focus on fitness, hobbies, adventures, and whatever. There are other things on the menu, a wife just is a scarce commodity. The apostle Paul spoke on this in 1 Corinthians 7.

Welcome aboard shipmate! I served 9years with half the time on board CG-54 USS Antietam.RosyPosy wrote: ↑December 23rd, 2022, 10:42 am I had a hard time getting "Da Gurlz" in high school, and I told myself back then I need to accept that fact that I might go through life alone. Mat 19:10 His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.
11 But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.
You want to be able to receive all the lord’s words, the everlasting covenant is marriage. The Nephites only married one wife and so can we. If polygamy comes back like 2 Nephi 14:1 prophecies that it will, then so be it. Until then, one wife is a commandment or complete virgin to be part of the 144,000
Rev 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
I was a FC1, what was your rate?

Re: Just dropped in
I'm really not worried about the whole get a wife/dating thing anymore, maybe some dates here and there to see what happens, but for the most part I will no longer put any investment in it. I was just cashing in my 2 cents on the subject.
I got out at AD2, aircraft engine mechanic. I only did one deployment to Kuwait doing medical evacuations. Most of time of duty was at NAS north island. I almost went on a ship deployment but mental health issues set in.

Sometimes the NAS has a hole it, despite our best efforts to prevent it. Cool there's so many vets here than can cash in on veterans preference when it comes to working on the NAS. And your training may land you near the Survivor Tree.RosyPosy wrote: ↑December 23rd, 2022, 11:29 am I'm really not worried about the whole get a wife/dating thing anymore, maybe some dates here and there to see what happens, but for the most part I will no longer put any investment in it. Prolly a different NAS than the one you reference.

Re: Just dropped in
San Diego was the low point of my life. I hated it there. If I were to do it over again, I'd get stationed in Virginia or Florida and sign up for every deployment possible.
I'm happy to be back in Utah.

BND knows that, he is talking in a riddle like always. He scored a 99 on the ASVAB. I scored a 97.RosyPosy wrote: ↑December 23rd, 2022, 11:48 amNAS north island is in San Diego.BeNotDeceived wrote: ↑December 23rd, 2022, 11:40 amSometimes the NAS has a hole it, despite our best efforts to prevent it.
