I just watched Ridley Scott’s final cut of 1982 Blade Runner, the storyline action having taken place in late November 2019.

Does that count as a Christmas movie? I’ve always felt it was. The replicants & toys have more capacity for love than the humans running things.

Pretty grim though.

“Meet John Doe”, the Frank Capra movie is much more hopeful.

Not really lesser known. Gremlins falls into a similar category.

One of the few decent Christmas rock/pop numbers is the spoof Christmas With The Devil by Spinal Tap. This captures the evil, unchristian aspect of Christmas better than most.
