I think there could be a meeting ground/common ground where the truth is that there is more to the earth than what is provided to the public

I couldn’t stomach more than 26 seconds of this video. Is this the quality of discourse we’re at?

The tone is condescending, I will give you that.

But I don't see a single thing that he said in the video that was incorrect.

Some simply avoid controversial subjects.
Some have an opinion, but don't know for sure, and so abstain.
Some do know for sure and find it comical that some people are so gullible.
One can prove it mathematically. https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-furth ... -curvature
One can prove it in person by simply flying over the south pole. It's not like someone would shoot you down.
It's funny what people believe. Some believe in God, some in abortion, some in socialism, others not so much. Everyone believes that they are right. Some don't care one way or the other. Course, once a person believes in multiple genders or that men can have babies, it matters not what else they believe.

You're mostly right. Other than stating you can't do something, he did avoid stating any facts well into the 2nd point, where he stated it's always dark in Barrow, Alaska in the winter. Oops! That's not even true. And that's the issue with flat earth debunkers. They are just as bad as the flat earthers. Flat earth people have done experiments that seem to prove the earth is flat. This is debunked by saying they are optical illusions and an unhealthy dose of superiority. I have never seen a round earther do an experiment to prove the earth is round. I have seen them try and fail, though.

Anyone can easily determine if the earth is flat or not flat if they really want to. Most people don't care and so they don't know. If it doesn't affect you enough you can even notice, does it really matter? But one thing is for sure: round earthers almost always demand that you accept their view, even though they cannot back it up with facts, much like this guy. It's an amazing window into human behavior and allows you to see how well brainwashing works. You can then think about how you know what you know, which will only lead to a better life.

Actually, I finished most of the video, and he did make some good points. I'm glad there's at least one voice of reason on this subject.

Huh??! Amazing assertions. Wow!

Right here on this forum, I've seen many intelligent posters here that basically prove a round earth, and have never seen them rebutted by so-called flat-earthers.

The FACT remains, flat-earth proponents have no predictive theory for their model. The round-earth model does, and the model is used in multiple, multiple ways in our current reality that almost everybody relies on.

I forgot, Larsen, do you also believe in the moon landings? I think you do, right?

The globe model is under constant revision in order to explain away failures as they become exposed by honest inquiry. And that’s with NASA’s $60 million per day budget.

What is the latest on space? Is there, after all, not the vacuum we’ve been told is out there?

good video.
the fact that people can't tolerate his presentation demonstrates why people today are so polarized. Hypersensitivity rules the world and also...divides the world.

There is a reason why the book of revelation and others describe a cleansing of the earth. There is a need for it. It really needs to start over so common sense can be, again, the guide of reason. A solid 60% of the human population is devoid of common sense and they take offense at anything that demonstrates this fact to them.

Those that are hypersensitive immediately put up walls which prevent learning. it's a defense mechanism so their fragile belefs won't get violated.

Yes the presence of a breathable atmosphere here at sea level Or close to it is something that we can all observe. We also observe that at high altitude the air pressure becomes less. Can we also agree that the atmosphere on the moon is essentially nil?

A good place to start if we can agree on those observations.

Allison, see if you can derive a predictive theory to undergird the flat-earth 'hypothesis'. You can't. That is all one needs to know about flat earth.

It will be a bad start, because you won't get agreement from flat-earthers on the observations you've mentioned.

We have a model for how a globe earth fits into a wider universe. Ok, it's not perfect, there's a huge amount we don't know and can only theorize about - but the model exists, is coherent & conforms to many astronomical observations.

Is there a similar coherent model for how a flat earth fits into a wider universe?

If there is, can we perhaps have that explained clearly so we can make some basic comparisons on a purely rational & observational basis?

Those stupid flat-earthers, thinking that the “vacuum of space” and our breathable atmosphere couldn’t possibly have nothing to keep them separate but…magical thinking. Just a bunch of brainwashed idiots - shouldn’t be allowed to live on this oblate spheroid that we don’t even have an actual photograph of despite all our equipment in “space.”

Caustic, snarky, insulting, and devoid of any evidence—what’s wrong with people?? Why don’t the objects of our scorn and derision just enjoy these videos? Just another reason the (continuously changing) heliocentric model is utterly true, right? Riiiight.

One simple way is to weigh the Earth. To do this simply weigh a known mass. The weight is the gravitational pull between the two masses, and it is represented by a simple formula.

How thick is this flat earth?

Gravity is the real mystery.

With all due respect, if you believe this, you don’t know anything about the actual flat earth assertions. It’s like having a Baptist tell us all what Mormon doctrine is and why it’s all wrong.

This is dishonest, and Steve, I am disappointed that you continuously give support to such cheap shots. Hardly professional.

And, OE says, “Show me the curve.”

Like you yourself have ever come up with a predictive theory. Why would you hypocritically expect that from someone else?

All you do is stand on the backs of your scientific high priests and parrot what they say.
