Are Adam and Eve really that hated by some Christians?

As I've said elsewhere I think Adam and Eve were among the greatest people who ever lived. You are right about Eve too - sometimes she has come in for specific criticism, but again, like Adam, she was tricked, and there isn't an indication that Eve was ever some horribly evil woman (unlike some other females in the scriptures).
I actually think Eve had far more awareness as to what her future mission was to be. Being the Mother of all Living, she most likely had spiritual gifts given specifically to her to accomplish that mission/calling.
Possibly but I don't see any indication of her being worse than Adam in that sense. But she does get the short straw presumably from being the first one to take the fruit

I think it's a great fallacy to think that either of them was bad. Or to think that the independent decisions they made were either better or worse than the other.

I've had experience with other Christians who do, deeply and truly, hate Adam and Eve. The assumption is that we would all still be born successfully, but live wonderfully in Eden with no pain, sorrow, or toil if not for them.

I agree with your first sentence, but disagree with the second.

I actually think Eve had, to some extent, a greater understanding of their roles. Now, I know they were innocent, but there is a good chance she may have pondered upon those commandments to multiply and replenish more than Adam. Which is hard to believe that a man wouldn't think about that sort of thing, but then again, they were innocent. A "helpmeet" doesn't mean that man has any right to rule over the woman.
