I've decided to begin uploading bite-sized commentaries to my YouTube channel for this year's Come Follow Me curriculum for those who are looking for unique insights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2N8SdM5SdlA

Re: Latter-day Lamanite Youtube Channel
I've been receiving no notifications whatsoever about any comments or subscriptions. Now, I'm not uploading videos in order to monetize them nor do I plan to monetize them, but It's a little disheartening to see how much information platforms like my blog and my YouTube channel withhold. It hinders my desire to reach out and be more helpful. Wordpress is the same, but I've been used to that for years. I even pay to keep my blog ad free so visitors can enjoy it without seeing ads. Nothing I can do about that on YouTube, though. I'm just sad that my reach isn't what it could be. But if you've watched any of my videos, I hope that they have made a difference in your life and in your journey to come unto Christ.

I completely understand. It is almost demotivating to release a video or article with really good information, and then see some, almost worthless, video get 100x the traction.marc wrote: ↑January 6th, 2024, 1:18 pm I've been receiving no notifications whatsoever about any comments or subscriptions. People naturally want what is easy and confirms their biases. Most of Christianity is this with a few things mixed in.

Re: Latter-day Lamanite Youtube Channel
Please help!
My dad told me he can barely hear my videos at full volume. Please chime in and let me know if you all can hear my videos ok, particularly if you are using a laptop computer.
Please and thank you!

Re: Latter-day Lamanite Youtube Channel
If you play your video on Youtube, right click, "stats for nerds", it will show the content loudness value.
This value is showing as "content loudness -24.0dB" which means it is relatively quiet. People on PC/Laptop with more powerful speakers can probably hear it, but most mobile will have a hard time.
You will need to boost the volume through your mic or software. I have had to tweak things more than once, but my latest video shows " (content loudness -5.0dB)".

You should be able to find your sound wave (audio levels) in a lot of free video editors and boost your audio up.

Thank you, everyone. I just made today's video with my headset. This is the best I can do without getting fancy or techy.

I am on a desktop and find you "exceedingly soft-spoken." I always have my volume maxed for your videos and still have a hard time.

Re: Latter-day Lamanite Youtube Channel
So weird! You're the first one who has chimed in using a desktop. My desktop speakers are totally fine even with my computer volume at 50 and my YouTube volume at halfway. I don't get it. Another friend could barely hear from a library computer, but when he plugged in his earphones, he could hear just fine.Original_Intent wrote: ↑January 11th, 2024, 2:52 pm I am on a desktop and find you "exceedingly soft-spoken." Edit: I figured it out. I checked out a short I made recently using no external microphone, only my cellphone mic and it made a HUGE difference. So from now on, no external mics. I'll just talk straight to my cellphone.

Re: Latter-day Lamanite Youtube Channel
I'd say your video is too quiet. I also checked the video that has the headset, also too quiet. I'm using earbuds to listen and I compared it to other videos that seem to have a normal volume level. Your video is much quieter, though I could still hear it. To get it to closer to the same volume level of the other video I had to increase my volume setting from 70 to 100 (and it still wasn't as loud as the comparison video). Hope that helps.

Re: Latter-day Lamanite Youtube Channel
Thanks, Brian. I think the videos where no external mics are used are optimal. For some reason, using external mics decrease the volume. Case in point, my two "shorts" videos.creator wrote: ↑January 11th, 2024, 5:25 pmI'd say your video is too quiet. I also checked the video that has the headset, also too quiet. Re: Latter-day Lamanite Youtube Channel
It would probably be ideal to figure out how you can increase the volume level after recording, or increase the mic volume input level. Not sure what tools you have but there are ways.

Re: Latter-day Lamanite Youtube Channel
Ok, I'm really excited about today's video. I have spent years on this particular subject-the fruit-and what it really means. In a nutshell: The Second Comforter. I only imply it in the video, but the keywords that I outline and unpack in just a few of the scriptures that I mention make the case very clearly. I hope with all my heart that this one gets through all the filters and goes viral. More importantly, I hope this particular subject becomes as meaningful to everyone else as it is to me.

Re: Latter-day Lamanite Youtube Channel
Wordpress is free as long as you don't let Wordpress host and and have any right to censor it. Many bloggers get a $5 a month hosting at greathost.org and add Wordpress for free from thousands of programs that are free like blogs, forums, eCommerce, etc., in their domain control panel. Then NOBODY can censor you. YOU are the censor. It is silly to host a website on a server where they hate free speech. You can host your own videos in .mp4 format. NO need to pay to be ad free. Just don't place any ads. Easy Peasy. Fire wordpress as a host. Just use their free software.marc wrote: ↑January 6th, 2024, 1:18 pm I've been receiving no notifications whatsoever about any comments or subscriptions.
