I don't trust Elder Cook at all.
With regards to homosexuality, he is on record as saying that we can no longer treat people differently because of their differing lifestyle choices. He was a SP in San Francisco and is one of the lead architects of the church's changed position on homosexuality. He has bought into the "born that way" and "nothing to repent of" ideology and has helped spread that through our church.
