Re: Ammo

I think the $14.99 is the old price. They forgot to enter it into the computer.
The bottom of the receipt said my savings were $8 for the two boxes of ammo bought. It wasn't an old price. They were passing on savings knowingly.

My observations from yesterday's gunshow and shopping.

Spanish Fork Cal Ranch had the new 333 round bulk pack for ~$12. The mob at the gun show yesterday in Sandy was incredibly huge, though there were still cases of ammo (certain things sold out) after the mob dissipated. One guy in line at an ammo table with a hand cart was offered $200 for his cart while he was standing in line outside. There were multiple people with hand carts fillling them up. I talked to a guy selling a .30-30 for a really good price so he could buy ammo. Sportsman's in Provo had only 2 lbs of powder and almost zero brass and very few reloading dies. They had ~1/4 of their racks empty and probably only ~1/4 of their pistol racks full. I asked one of the guys if he would be laid off when they sold them out and he said yes. Cabellas still had a fairly good selection of ammo, but almost zero powder. They were sold out of a lot of reloading dies and shell holders. Some dummy at the gun show who obviously knew nothing about reloading had several 100 casing bags of non reloadable (berdan primed) once fired 7.62x39 copper washed steel casings for sale. After examening them, I told him they were worthless and usually just left on the range. I told him that if someone bought them, they would be very angry when they found out they were worthless and they would probably come after him. I don't believe he took them off of the table. Maybe he didn't believe me. Some dummy at the Christensen Reloading table was trying to sell a brick for primers for $70!! You can still buy them for ~$30. I saw several stores with them, though not a lot.

Cabellas gun counter was very very crowded with people and they seemed to have a regular selection. Thought their sara brady nightmares (AR-15 varients)were going for well over $2,000. It was busy enough that they were requiring people to take numbers.

Mullenite-thanks for that long post above. I sent it to a bunch of people. It convinced someone close to me to go out the next day and buy a firearm that they had been putting off and had planned to put off longer. This person bought the last one of the model that their Wal Mart had. This person hasn't fired a weapon for years, I think, and had never attended a gun show. This person went yesterday and purchased cases of ammo and took the ccw class. Thanks for waking people up with your commentary.
