Translation of the Plates of Brass by David Ferriman

Post by SeekWisdom »

Anyone know much about David Ferriman and his claim on translating parts of the Plates of Brass? Here’s a pdf link to the translation below.

I don't think I've heard of this one. I'm glad you made this thread.

I believe James Strang said he was allowed to translate part of the brass plates but not the entire thing.

Edit: I think the alleged James Strang partial translation may be considered canon by the church that David Ferriman seems to be part of. I think The Book of the Law of the Lord was the name of the partial brass plate translation James produced and this church has it listed in their canon of scriptures

David Ferriman did an interview on Gospel Tangents.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing the info and video you found. I found out about him randomly as I stumbled upon a comment he provided on one of Gileadi’s fb posts. In which he provided a link to the translation. I’m going to have to watch the interview as I’m usually pretty skeptical about these types of claims, yet love seeking things out.

He was in my university ward about 20 years ago. Left the Utah based church when he was excommunicated a few years back. Started his own movement about the time Snuffer was gaining momentum. Read some of his stuff early on out of curiosity. He seemed to think lesbianism was ok, because it wasn't man lying with man and wasn't listed specifically in the scriptures. Weird dude.

He claims the use of Kabbalistic mysticism and meditation techniques in the "divining" of the texts.

I didn’t see this back when it was posted over a year ago.

I was in some common Facebook groups with him. I was probably Facebook friends with him too. But when he found out I was pro life, he went crazy and started being really mean and rude to me. So he eventually got blocked and I have no regrets about that. Gotta love the blocking feature for people who act like a dog with a bone and just won’t let go until you agree with them 100%.

I don’t know anything about his plates of brass translation, but I would have serious doubts about it just from my interaction with him in the past.

In his Tsohar A collection of revelations and translations from the Latter Day Saint Movement is found the Book of Remembrance, which includes a creation narrative with a threesome in the garden, with Adam and his two wives Lilith and Eve who appear to be married to each other. So, early mankind had multiple wives who were expected to be affectionate to each other and honest.
Yea, I had given unto Adam two wives, Lilith for the first and Eve for the second, that they would be helpmates to one another in the Garden; and given I they Adam unto them, and the one unto the other.
"And thus did Lilith go seeking to deceive her husband and their wife "But behold, here is wisdom, Lilith had nether love for her husband nor for their wife, Eve, nor for the Lord God, neither NHVH, the Only Begotten, nor Elohim. Yea, and Lilith had a natural affection at first..."

Sounds like AI has already started to rewrite the Bible. 🤦🏼‍♀️
Made it more "woke" and more politically correct.

Wow. That's an abomination set forth as doctrine. Maybe he's inspired, but he's certainly not inspired by the Holy Ghost.

Many heterosexual men are turned on by lesbianism which is perhaps the reason it has gained more traction than the male version. (Real lesbians are rarely as attractive as their onscreen versions.) That's probably a major reason.

Also, heterosexual intercourse breaks the hymen whereas the lesbian version does not... which is one major reason it may have been overlooked. It couldn't be uncovered by inspection.

I know of him and he calls himself the Mormon Kabbalalist, which is not a good thing in my honest opinion as Kabalah is of the occult https://seekingyhwh.org/resources/kabbalah/. I have scanned this supposed work, and it does not contain in it what the BoM states the Brass plates would have.

I think Thrupple or Throuple is the current fashionable term for this kind of activity. Which sounds odd to me as "thrapple" means throat in Scots.
