Food Shortage Starts in September

Actually, the shortages have already started. My local stores were out of chicken eggs for a month. Bottled water was iffy for a while. Right now there is no hummingbird red juice. The powder is not as red and they don't like it as well. While the stores were out of eggs the local IFA sold a zillion baby chicks as people figured they had to raise their own.

One of the things most every photographer does is capture hummingbird wings in focus. It is fun. But it requires a willing model. No birds means no pictures.

Regardless, my Bishop was warning everyone to get all of our preparations done, for two years if possible, instead of the customary one.

I'm not sure about a hummingbird farm, but yes! I find tremendous value in caring for God's creatures!
I guess the key to answering your question is how you would define 'value'. I love firewood, everything about it. Felling the tree, cuttin' up rounds and then splitting the rounds, and then stacking it and letting it season for proper burning.... So I'm prolly not a tree hugger in the Babylonian sense of and definition for the term 'tree hugging'...but I do love trees....and I think hummingbirds are one of the coolest animals that exist. And I thoroughly enjoy providing sugar water for them(yes I can be a bit of a homer.... but I'm okay with that)

I love our family's farm. It is not all that big, but you got wild chicken, wild turkeys, rabbits, as well as an area for vegetables. Probably the best hedge against inflation that exists.

The avocados are particularly tasty.

Now, what really makes me lose sleep at night is the water levels at lake Mead. It's lower now than it's ever been since it was first filled. If they don't get some gigantic snowfall in the upper colorado basin this winter, you won't see California strawberries next spring at walmart. Or anything else from California. Which is a lot of produce.

Yep. The drought which you speak of also goes into Mexico. We have a city called Monterrey, with as many people as the DFW metroplex, that literally has no water left. The governor cynically tells the people to shower only 3 to 5 minutes every other day but has done nothing to take out the big companies that have been bleeding the reserves dry over the last five years.

Cool. Thanks for explaining. You’re a kind soul. Hummingbirds are beautiful, amazing creations, as are many others. Nature’s just awesome! With all the talk of antidepressants not working as previously thought, they say interaction with nature (even house plants) helps mental health.

The hummingbirds don't need colored sugar water. Red dye isn't good for them. We make our own hummingbirds sugar water, also. No dye.

However, our hummingbirds were very picky and didn't like the feeders with clear bottles. Then we discovered we could paint the clear hummingbird feeding bottles with glass paint. The hummingbirds love it! The painted bottle (red, yellow and orange) are now their favorite feeders.

I'll give Cliff partial credit for that prediction. People paying attention have noticed the rise in deaths. Just because the MSM doesn't report it doesn't mean it isn't happening. As time goes on it will be harder to ignore.

David DuByne of Adapt 2030 gives pretty good reasoning for his prediction about problems escalating from mid-September onward. It's very simple: many of the food commodities contracts for corn, soy, wheat, etc. won't be fulfilled, which will cause major escalation in prices. He's looking at the reports tracking the progress of the crops and projected harvest this fall and it's very apparent that the shortfall will be severe enough to cause mass cancellation of contracts. He also had a recent interview with a longtime commodities trader who said a number of companies and countries are holding on to what they have in reserve to wait-see what happens. They'll either wait until prices are jacked for maximum profit, or may simply never put them on the market (particularly countries, which will keep the food for their own people).

If that wasn't bad enough, it seems we may be in for a rail worker strike this fall as well, which will make things much worse.

And then there's the fact that the Fed raised rates again today. This could lead to the toppling of the housing market, as well as mass layoffs.

It is tough explaining to my husband, who has Parkinson's, that we cannot eat up our stored foods. He does not want us to continue buying groceries because the prices are exceeding our allotted grocery budget. I am still pushing to get extra now, before the prices truly are out of our reach.
