Anyone tried a wonderbox?

This link was posted to our homeschool group. Looks interesting. Have any of you seen one in action?

Thanks for the info. Very interesting. It reminds me a lot of a crock-pot but without the electricity.

I only have one pot that would work with this concept. Worth trying out.

Several of us ladies in my ward have made these. I haven't used mine yet, but several of the others have and they work great! You do need to heat up your pot (with food in it) on the stove or in the oven, then put it in the wonder box. So you can't totally cook without electricity (or gas), but you do use much less energy.

Quite a long time ago we talked about different options for solar cookers. I wondered about concentrating the sun into a beam small enough to enter a little window so that the solar cooker would suffer less from heat loss and be more effective with less light. I'm wondering if this insulation could be combined with one of those magnifying plates going into a small window, but diffusing the light and heat once inside... I'll have to draw up what I mean, because I'm terrible at explaining what's in my noggin.
