food storage made easy.

Post by ryanjenny1997 »

Just some tips I found may be helpful to those whom have the money, and will to prepare.

Lifesprouts.com sells seed buckets (or make your own) that has all the nutrition in one sprouted cup per day per person to keep you healthy. That means 1 6lb bucket will last a person a year! Now you might be hungry, but you will be healthy. The sprouts will last many many years if stored right. Woops, I forgot to rotate, that is ok, 10 years later the seeds will sprout like new :D

Also, you can go to companies whom sell nitro-packed #10 cans of fruits, veggies, entrees, etc. These companies suck all air, etc out of can, seal it, and they last something like 30 years. Or go to a cannery and do your own. Very simple!

Then store some water in containers, hand pump well, or water tank.

It just seems too many people think preparing, rotating, cooking, etc is sooo hard. Well, the way most try to to it would make it miserable for me. People store all this wheat and flour, etc to make bread....that is fine if you actually make bread. Most I know don't make bread, so why all the storage to make bread lol.

There are easier ways to store, not worry about rotating for a long time, have all your nutrition, and never have to cook if you don't want too if research is done. I figure if more people knew how easy it can be, they would do more???

Then their is the issue of funding all this uggggg  if we all get out of debt, shop at thrift stores, etc, we can afford some of this! atleast for us poor people!

That is awesome info!

I am so frustrated sometimes at all the recommended stuff....like so much yeast...so much flour, etc. I want it to be healthy and simple. I have heard of sprouts, and their health benefits. I will look into this info for sure. Thanks

Sprouts are a good idea. I think that it would be good addition to a food storage plan. I looked at the web site...there are several companies pushing the "sprout solution" to food storage and/or health. Its a good idea, but I think that prudence would suggest that sprouts be used in addition to other food storage items.

Do you two work or have relatives who work for this company? Your two posts sound like a sales pitch :?:

Anyway, my hens definitely lay better eggs when I give them sprouts. I have used sprouts for years and do consider them a wonderful part of my diet.

To answer your question let me quote President Benson speaking about the Word of Wisdom "... Most of us are acquainted with some of the prohibitions, such as no tea, coffee, tobacco, or alcohol. What need additional emphasis are the positive aspects--the need for vegetables, fruits, and grains, particularly wheat. In most cases, the closer these can be, when eaten, to their natural state-- without overrefinement and processing--the healthier we will be..."

Sprouts are great, but get your seeds at a local feed and seed store. Buy in bulk (share the seed and the cost) and keep the unused seed in a cool dry place.

Better grow a garden while you can...

Some small farms and organic food growers could be placed under direct supervision of the federal government under new legislation making its way through Congress.

Food Safety Modernization Act

House Resolution 875, or the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009, was introduced by Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn., in February. DeLauro's husband, Stanley Greenburg, works for Monsanto – the world's leading producer of herbicides and genetically engineered seed.

DeLauro's act has 39 co-sponsors and was referred to the House Agriculture Committee on Feb. 4. It calls for the creation of a Food Safety Administration to allow the government to regulate food production at all levels – and even mandates property seizure, fines of up to $1 million per offense and criminal prosecution for producers, manufacturers and distributors who fail to comply with regulations.

Can you imagine the size of police force it would take to prevent everyone from growing a garden? Probable the same size army it would take to disarm everybody in Texas.

Now, if the ptb's get control of the seeds---- or the ammuntition----
