Physically, Are we ready for the Last Days..??

Just watching clips of Ukrainian combat among civilians, makes me wonder how well slothful-Americans would hold up in such a (Latter Day) scenario.
Meaning, could we handle it? Walking ten miles away from the front, to hopefully find transport to get away from shelling, or tank assaults?
How about just being able to protect our own neighborhood? Like, pulling guard duty with neighbors and minor “patrolling” of our homes and surrounding blocks.
So, if, an armed force (be they gangs, Antifa rioters, looters, or tyrannical police squads intent on confiscating more of our rights, or an invading army), is headed towards your family and domain, or worse, toward you and your family in your broken down / gas tank empty car in an unfamiliar neighborhood, is our standard of health and physical fitness enough to serve us well enough to take the actions necessary to survive another day..??
Just the other day, I watched a clip of three Ukrainian civilians peeking around a corner, then sprinting across the road, and continuing along a wall for about a block, before stopping to peek again to make sure it’s clear, and then sprinting some more to get to a safer place.
Geez I thought! I’m in no shape to be able to do that right now.
Realizing the promises of Section 89 of “being able to run and not be weary, and walk and not faint”, are not promises for the sedentary couch potato I have become…
Guess I either have to get my heart and soul ready to expire at the first hint of physical hardship, or put in the incremental effort needed to get in the best shape I can attain for my age and disposition.
I’ve come to realize, that even if I made the group of early evacuees to the mountains with my supplies, I’d have a hard time being a productive member of any work or security detail at the 8,600’ elevation of the local LDS YW camp.
Guess, I’ll get off the couch and start taking seriously my lack of physical conditioning. Tune up and harden up.
I figure I gotta be able to walk ten miles three days in a row…, and not be debilitated.
Which means practice and training. And incremental progress.
Like developing a deep pool of spiritual strength, physical conditioning has to be applied over many days and weeks with consistent effort.
Luckily, I can try and do both… listen and ponder as I exercise…

We definitely aren't. This is something I think about a lot. Unfortunately, we are never as a collective going to be ready enough for it but we can strive to be as ready for it in our immediate circle to take care of those in our charge and possibly have the means (not necessarily a financial thing, though it can be) to be of assistance for others in need. Sort of a "primary answer" but I think it's the right answer.
It's always darkest before dawn and while that crack of the sun rising will be priceless, I'm not enjoying the darkness getting to that point.

I was on antifa watch when they were threatening to burn down our farms. I wouldn't go to bed until after 3am. My husband was working out of town so neighbors were on the look out for each other. Not looking forward to this again.

I've been going to the gym several times a week for the past 8 months in an attempt to be physically fit enough when the brown stuff hits the fan. At 61 years old fitness is hard won and easily lost, so I keep going.
I believe if I had to walk all the way to Zion I could do it.

The front won't be in your cow pasture. You should have your cameras tied to your own network that operates independently from the www. No peeking around corners. You have a complete view from your office. You can view your cameras from any portable device connected to your private wi-fi. Your dogs will bark if anyone gets within 3/4 of a mile. You can see them in your binoculars long before they can see you. You can transmit noise on the right frequency to confuse drones. You have had your entire life to prepare. What are you doing living in an area that you can't defend?

Looks like our brothers and sisters in Shanghai won’t be going anywhere.
My goodness this is crazy. The third video if you scroll down, is disturbing. It’s of a man yelling about their situation.

This is an interesting thought. When I was 30 I realized I was fat. I'm only 5'8" and I weighed over 200 lbs. I felt miserable too, always had odd health issues. I nearly failed the Air Force PT test around that time and I decided "well, If I'm going to stick w/ the military I'd better fix something" (AF PT test is a joke too). I hated running because it always caused my knees to hurt. So, I decided to read up on how to run properly. I made significant changes to diet and started exercising. In 14 years, I've completed several official half marathons and ran more on my own as I've trained and completed 2 marathons (one last December - funny story for another time, but I ran it w/ COVID) and I've completed an IronMan 70.3 event. I think I could handle walking days on end for sure, but I don't believe most my associations in and out of the church could do it easily.
Glad to say now, my sleeping heart rate is around 42, resting heart rate around 50 and my average blood pressure is around 100/60. Now if I could just solve arthritis...

It’s not the walk…it’s the young lions along the way!

Good discussion.
Still think you guys should consider coming to NW Missouri, or close (say Kansas) while the getting is still good. Adam-ondi and Jackson County are in this region. Also, red state and lots of farming and hunting and fishing.
Spoke to a neighbor yesterday. He showed me his long-barrel pistol, 222, and his knife.. impressive. On his truck, "I have my Bible, my Constitution, and my Colt. And I intend to keep all three."
Drive here now, or walk later.

some of the alt radio and net presenters that I follow . . . will have a great interview or presentation that is so correct . . .then they will have some that are so full of lies and propaganda and brain washed bs that it is so difficult to sift through, although the obvious is there . . . but . . speaking of bodies . .
I heard yesterday an interview where the guest claimed that . . due to codes that have put on our phones . . they could get the information on their phone that people had been vaxxed . . due to the fact that small interceptors of information had been placed in the vaccine . . therefore, injected into their bodies . . .these small whatever they are . . could send a signal to be picked up by a cell phone . . . .what a bunch of malarky . . .
there is really no known reason to inject any sensor because they can follow everyone on cell phones . . .t further . . . these guests claim that the code shows up different on their phone for those who are vaxxed versus those are not . . . and they have NEVER seen these codes before . . .well, if you have never seent hem before then how can you guess that it is being caused by and injected chip or whatever? . . . . argh
you can pick up a code of all of the cell phone in the area on your phone. . . but . . .
this is so ridiculous . . . also, there is talk that these injections and also an extra little implanted device can allow someone to read your thoughts . . . awwwwwwww . . . .
gates and company can't even build a decent computer that consistently works. . . the scientist of today are not smart enough to do that . . . and . . it can't be done form a device that used electricity to run it . . . just unplug a computer and see how useful it really is . . . .
they know they are so lieing to us . . . about a lot of stuff . . so, for those of you who have had the vax . . don't believe that they can control your mind or read your mind . . . just keep building your physical stamina as this poster has said . . that stamina is the best thing we can do with our body. . .
the main thing that they are trying to inject into us is FEAR . . . yep, fear . . . that is so foreign to me and decisions made in my life show that to be true . . . in the past . . . I kinda been foolish with some decisons to do things . . . . because of no fear and have sufffered less than I probably should have . . .bless God

"Physically, Are we ready for the Last Days..??"
The "Last Days" is the day you take your last breath, life goes on, people will continue to live for the next thousand years. Just because big cities or big countries go through hard times does not mean the world is going to end. There are many smaller countries and remote villages around the globe that are self sufficient and will carry the torch to reset civilization if it ever got to that point.
Spiritually, are we ready for our Last day?

I am concerned the most about being spiritually ready. If a nuke or mass bombings hit around me I probably won’t survive no matter how physically prepared I am. My biggest problem is having so many worldly goods that it blinds me to my spiritual needs.

Maybe when I was 27 I was fit enough. Now we are old farts...
Not only can't I get anywhere near the basket if I want to dunk a basketball. I can't even get anywhere period.
I guess I could be useful as human shielding.

My wife and I felt the need/urge to get back in the gym June of last year. We got serious about it in August. We try to stay in tune spiritually and for what ever reason we feel a real drive to get into athletic shape since then. We are going to need to be physically as well as spiritually strong to make it through the coming days. It's not too late let's get stronger together
