An Intellegence Gap in Washington

Today General Tod Wolters declared the US had an Intellegence gap which caused it to overestimate Russias capabilities and to under estimate Ukraines defensive ability.

One has to wonder how a such an intelligence gap occured in a military with a budget of 778 Billion last year, with 705 Billion of that being discretionary (meaning congress didnt determine what to spend it on, the military got to choose).

But that is not all, beacause the 2021 budget also included 23.3 BILLION for military Intelligence and another 60.8 Billion for National Intelligence Program.

862 Billion doesnt buy what it used to.

So now that we 'know' Russia is a paper tiger, er uh bear? Can we cut back on all that spending?

Sadly no. Because this intelligence gap has demonstrated that the military infact needs more money so they can ensure their are no more gaps.

You can't make this up.

The intelligence gap is an internal battle between the neocons in the state department and the pentagon. The pentagon is trying to crush the neocons from starting WW3.

Don't be fooled by the performance of the Russian military in Ukraine. They are clearly holding back.

I thought the gap was between their ears. No amount of water can fill a bucket with holes.

Can’t imagine how the military could be so off the mark. It’s such high caliber.

And even if they aren't and it turns out they've been nothing more then a paper tiger of a military, there's still China to have to worry about.

Maybe but Russia is a joke country that couldnt fight a real war much further away than Ukraine without falling apart. I love Russia and culture but why they world acts like they are a world power in insane. About same population as Mexico with about same economy. They have a bunch of old stuff from USSR but its all falling apart. They are poor dying country with a dictator lashing out like dictators do. I feel sad for Ukraine but all the former USSR captives should have entered into treaties against Russia right after the Cold War to protect each other but they didnt. And its not our problem.

Like Hitler, we underestimate Russia at our peril.
