It's a complete failure. I'm just waiting for some professional fighters to comment on it. I don't see how anyone who is experienced in martial arts, boxing, UFC, etc, would not be able to analyze how fake this all was. I've seen better stuff on Jerry Springer and soap operas. I was able to point out half a dozen things wrong with it and why I know it is phoney. And I did martial arts just for fun growing up and really wanted to get into into boxing. I'm no professional. I can totally see some outspoken UFC fighter blowing up the whole narrative. I'm sure Joe Rogan is out of his mind over this madness.

Will Smith like many other low income black kids from the streets are raised with christian values taught to them by their mothers and grand mothers. Will's current situation with fame, money, open relationship marriage and over all hollywood lifestyle is in objection to his values. He is conflicted and has lost all control of his emotions and discipline. You cant serve two masters.

It is obviously not staged. Anyone experienced in martial arts would know this. Look at the body language, and Chris' reaction. Watch how Chris is stunned afterwards and misplaces his words from his shock and embarrassment.

Let's not forget who these people are and the industry that employs them.

His parents were middle class and he went to private elementary school for a while, released an album at nineteen, and won a Grammy at twenty...before the IRS hit him with a $2.8 million tax demand... which means he was hardly poor, at least until they got hold of him. I'm not disagreeing about anything anyone is saying about it being staged, or what a mess they all are, or anything.

But contrary to how everyone in the metaverse who is freaking out because of the so-called "violence" of it all, I will say that if a real man actually really did slap another man in a real situation, hard, defending the honor (or even just the feelings of his wife), I would say "good for him."

We now live in such a woke, prissy world that there is no room for correct behavior even when it is called for. And the most correct behavior in a situation like I am describing might be a good hard slap.

But of course it may always carry more weight if it's a woman herself doing the slapping, addressing the inappropriate actions of a man for the right reason(s) (and I can think of plenty of right reasons).

The so-called "violence" discussion is definitely just a bunch of staged PC BS.

Expect a flurry of hack journalists writing about "toxic masculinity" in the next few days and how marriage is a patriarchal institution...

Along with some drivel about how Will Smith is returning America to the values it needs.

You get the picture. The first will be on MSNBC in one of those stupid pseudo-debates, and the second on Fox etc. For viewers on this side of the Pond, Piers Morgan will be milking it.

Watched the videos from several angles. Stomp, tap, whatever, he was wearing dress shoes on a stage. Very easy to create noise. Body language and reactions don't convince me. Are you in martial arts? Why so much media attention on this? Every year they have had some kind of controversy because their ratings are so dirt low. Probably should be focused on these satanic monsters in Hollywood attacking Florida for not pushing homosexuality, pedophilia, and transgenderism on children in the schools.
Hollywood and Disney don't deserve a penny from a moral people. Not a second of our attention.

Whether it's real or not, this is the world THEY created--now they don't like it?? I mean, it's evil fighting evil at this point. Chris Rock felt real, but Will Smith was all an act, probably the biotech/phizer Alopecia treatment deal.

I'm pretty sure the "woke" crowd is actually cheering this supposed violence on. They're the ones who generally take jokes too seriously. Getting into a fight because you took a joke too seriously seems more like emasculate behaviour to me.

On Sunday night, at a Hollywood awards ceremony no one watches any more, host Chris Rock made a joke about actor Will Smith’s wife’s hairstyle. Smith stood up, walked across the stage and punched Rock in the face. Social media began its entirely predictable descent into some of the most outrageously nonsensical takes on what was very clearly criminal assault.

Putting aside for a moment what would have happened if it had been Benedict Cumberbatch who threw the punch, this is a perilous development in the woke assault on language, their insistence that words are violence.

The Los Angeles police are not investigating this, it would seem. To be fair the LAPD don’t investigate much nowadays if the unending scenes of looting pharmacies are to be believed.

But a Rubicon has been crossed and a precedent set. It is now acceptable for an audience member in any theatre or auditorium across the Western world to leave their seat, walk on to the stage and assault anyone who says something they don’t like. Performers of all kinds, but particularly comedians, the most hated community by the woke, will sweat just that little bit more pre-set, in case saying the ‘wrong thing’ on stage puts them in hospital or worse. The suppression of free expression through violence is now permitted.

Back to Benedict Cumberbatch. Do you think he would have a career this morning if he had done the same? My bet is that he would be in hiding in fear for his life. Will Smith went on to accept his Best Actor award for whatever film he was in and received a standing ovation. Showbusiness folk once again proving how totally out of touch they are with reality.

The Oscars used to be a big deal in our family. We would stay up and watch the whole show together. Now I couldn’t name you a single nominated film, even the one about the gay bloke and the mountain. Oscar viewing figures, and film viewing figures more broadly, are tanking as each filmmaker genuflects to the permanently offended woke mob. The Oscars has become an annual woke wake as the once great industry eats itself.

In any sensible world, Will Smith would have spent the night in jail and been charged with assault, but apparently it’s ok when a black man hits someone. Applauded even. I’m starting to wish I could swap some of my ‘white privilege’ for the one Will Smith benefits from. My career was ended for saying England was a warm and tolerant place. If only I had more ‘black privilege’.

I took Drama class back in high school. I was more interested in learning how to write scripts etc than actually acting (which I can't do for toffee)... but this is one of the things we did. It was actually quite fun.

It's far easier to fake a slap than a punch. With a punch it has to stop within less than an inch of the face, with a slap your hand covers up the distance.

Maybe Chris Rock really does know how to turn the other cheek.

I'm not one for encouraging physical violence. Usually, but it was rather refreshing to see a man willing to go to bat like that when his wife is insulted. It was obvious by the way she rolled her eyes at the joke that she was not amused one bit. Used too, it was considered bad taste to tease a woman about her appearance, oh well
