Re: General Conference April 2022 - Rumors / and live thread
Mark 16: 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
I cannot recall ever hearing the account of a healing that these brethren have done. That is a gaping condemnation of the true Spiritual state of the Church. When Joseph established the Church, healings, and miracles were common. They were told about for all of the 19th Century. Then in the 60s and 70s, miracles started to be hushed up. Church leaders didn't want them discussed any more. I know this, because of an old BYU textbook on Church History I have, Joseph Smith and the Restoration, by Ivan J Barrett. Turns out the copy I have is a watered down version of the original text. It was revised, specifically, to remove the many miracles that were in the 1st edition.

Once again...in response to the ongoing comments:
Lots of murmuring and complaining. Why are you even watching if you're just looking to find fault and pick apart these talks? Go find something else or quit fault finding.
We find what we focus on!

Why are you participating on this thread if your only comment is to find fault with others’ finding fault? Who has the right to call out a fault? And when does it become a duty? Are you the judge? Are you judging righteously?

Well...it's a credibility issue.
When "urged" by Q15 to take a poison death-jab that has killed and injured hundreds of thousands of God's children...
...you begin to see the man behind the curtain.
Most people on this forum just want the truth. They value and cherish it...they expect it!

If you're going to claim being a prophet, seer and revelator, what you say and do will be judged. Especially by people who believe in the Book of Moromon when you claim authority over what God is using the Book of Mormon to do
I am so disappointed by what this institution became. The day will come when God will show them and the world what a Biblical plague is and God will show them and the world what Honest-To-God true Biblical prophets are and do.The Red Pill wrote: ↑April 2nd, 2022, 2:33 pm Holland... Re: General Conference April 2022 - Rumors / and live thread
Is it forbidden to look to the counsel of the Prophets in scripture, and see how the current Church is doing?
Mark 16: 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Do you see any problems with the specific ways to identify true believers as outlined in the scriptures? Are you saying that we are not to use them as a guide? If we are not to use them as a guide, what are we to use? Just the words of the current Prophets and Apostles? Isn't that how many generations of Churches fell into apostasy?
Suppose we do use them as a guide, against the popular opinions of our day. "That will surely annoy many Saints." What will we find?
I have found much to be concerned about. In fact, President Nelson just posted on Twitter:
That is simply not true. The scripture I mentioned before, Matthew 10:34-36, states that Jesus taught contention. There are many other examples. How is the battle of Jericho not contention? How are the plagues of Egypt not contention? God taught contention, Jesus taught contention. Both were, and are contending with evil, for all of history. Now, somehow the Church thinks we shouldn't contend against evil. If we have courage and speak the truth today, it is possible that we can save some of our loved ones and God's children from the judgements of God, that surely will come, such as the events in Sodom and Gomorrah, and Egypt, and Jericho, etc. Are we here to save, or are we here to pacify? If we are to pacify, recall the scriptures always add the words, "and lead them carefully down to hell."Since last #GeneralConference, difficulties in the world have continued. The pandemic still affects us. The world has been rocked by conflict. The gospel of Jesus Christ has never been needed more than it is today. Contention violates everything the Savior taught.

Aka: get the jab
And
You can be gay (just don’t act on it) and serve a mission
I’m sorry but boys who are mission age do not want to serve with someone who might be gay.
They will have a shortage and they deserve it. They bowed to the crowd. Game over.

There is a sense of urgency in many talks, yet they are careful not to step on those that could easily silence them.

Plus my mom is German. "Liebe Geschwister" is very common, especially with the older members. But not everyone says it.Robin Hood wrote: ↑April 2nd, 2022, 12:57 pmI lived in Germany and attended a normal (non-military) German speaking ward. They would say "liebe schwester und bruder".
The point is that they do frequently say "dear siblings" while in the U.S. we have traditionally said brothers and sister. I have never heard anyone say "dear siblings" in English.

This was not said. The 15 have been moving away from the food storage message for a while now. What would you need food storage for anyway? The world has a bright future, particularly led by their globalist cabal pals. Don't believe in "baseless conspiracies"kittycat51 wrote: ↑March 26th, 2022, 11:01 am
"My dad's chiropractor was in a temple session with Pres. Nelson this week. The officiator asked if he wanted to say anything to the patrons. He said, get your food storage."
No offense to that post but anyone who has been paying attention the past 2 years should know this!
^^^ Made by one of the members of the forum I believe.
In fact, when push comes to shove, the area leadership will be asking all prepped members to turn over their food storage to the civil authorities, in an attempt for the “influential” church leaders to curry favor and respect with the kings and princes of Babylon.
Pathetic…
Pathetic indeed.
I recently listened to an LDS couple who have dedicated much of their lives to preparedness and teaching others their knowledge YouTube.
They explained how people have made comments such as 'we know where to go when things get bad' or 'we'll just come to your house' and yet these people don't want to put in any effort to do anything themselves.
They explained that the people who say 'well of course when things get bad we will all share because it's the Christian thing to do' are the ones who have done nothing and realistically if they just freely gave out what they had put away everyone, including themselves would be starving within a couple of weeks.
That being said while there may truly be some in need, I think those cases may be few and far between because we have lived through very abundant times where most can afford to do something.
I see people spending money on all sorts of things yet seem to be giving little thought things that would help their family.

Suppose for example that the hundreds of thousands of people have been whacked by the jab is a true, verifiable number. There have been more Covid vaccines applied than there are people living on the Earth.
The death rate of the vaccine would be about 1 per MYRIAD.
The verifiable numbers of Coronavirus indicate a death rate of about 1 percent.
Then you have the issue of grabbing the numbers from each and every vaccine. The truth is we simply do not have the numbers to make these claims. This would be preferable than making an emotional statement against all vaccines in general or even all COVID vaccines in general.
If we could verify the numbers spouted off by RedPilled, we could still see the vaccines are better, but then we get to the next question: which vaccines

This is a great point.
Anyone who is honest with themselves must concede that almost everything that has been said so far is edifying and doctrinal.
Most of the things people are griping about either weren't even mentioned in conference. And for the rest, people are worked up because they are trying to "read between the lines" and are actively looking for something to get worked up about.

there are two choirs , maybe more . . . .one to go on tour . . .one to stay at home . . . .California mormons claim they have a tabernacle choir, tooSubcomandante wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2022, 8:52 pmThis is an example of following local and international regulations.crabman wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2022, 7:33 pm The choir is mandating vaccines still and will put anybody not vaxxed on inactive status by May 1st, and will drop them from the choir after a year if they don't comply. Absolutely mind boggling that with as much information as is now available if only you open your eyes and just see, that they're doubling down on the ineffective and harmful vax.
Many countries still require the C-19 vax to enter them, and the Tab Choir goes on international tours. If they only sang domestically, I would get your point.
Your nephew missionary likewise while he resides in the country where he is serving his mission, if they require the shot, he has to get it (or leave the country, assuming the country he goes back to doesn't also require the shot). It doesn't matter how many studies have come out against the vaccines (and there are quite a few of them) or for them (likewise quite a few). Missionaries are not trained to go out and take a gun and fight for liberty, or inciting rebellions amongst the people where they serve. They are trained to preach the gospel, and they do so in many ways.

Re: General Conference April 2022 - Rumors / and live thread
While you won't generally find me defending the GA's, in this case I think we need to be fair. There was this little thing called WWII followed by the Korean War. Looking at my husband's very True Blue Mormon family, in his father's generation, out of many brothers, only one served a mission (and I think he was the youngest, and it took a divine intervention to put him out in the mission field) but the rest served in the war effort. No, there was no missionary deferment available during the war. That came later. Nelson was finishing medical school, then it was out into the medical units (in his case I believe he went right to Walter Reed hospital as a surgeon.) Oaks was stateside serving as Nat'l Guard, I think, and Eyring was Air Force serving simultaneously as a district missionary. Because we have been doing these little fake wars since then, younger folks don't realize it was all hands on deck for the war effort during WWII and for a few years afterwards. IF you weren't in the military of some kind, people would have been looking at you like what the heck was the matter with you, and they drafted a lot of older men, also. And if you were home, you could expect to be buying "war bonds" and having just about everything rationed to support the war effort. Most of the missions were all shut down during the war, anyway. Most all of these men married right before going out or during the war, because who knew if they were coming back alive? Many didn't.Robin Hood wrote: ↑April 2nd, 2022, 11:24 amI hadn't realised that.SempiternalHarbinger wrote: ↑April 2nd, 2022, 11:03 amAnd yet, none in the first presidency served a full-time mission.“Today I reaffirm strongly that the Lord has asked every worthy, able young man to prepare for and serve a mission. … For you young and able sisters, a mission is also a powerful, but optional, opportunity.” -Russell Nelson
A tad hypocritical methinks.
Even my newly wed mother-in-law was working in the ship yards in California, and my mother was working doing civil service jobs in the naval ports on the west coast since her husband was deployed out of them.
