I decided to add more Mexico since it is important for you.Subcomandante wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2022, 12:18 pmExperiences at one ward out of nearly 30,000 is an extraordinarily small sample size (though I have heard of other units within the USA that have gotten quite woke).JuneBug12000 wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2022, 11:58 amMaybe it is because this isn't just "what if" for most of us.Oldemandalton wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2022, 10:24 am Reading these post I am amazed at the depth of the cynicism and antagonism from the backbiters and murmurer on LDSFF.
Family who support and claim to be LGBTQA.
Yes.
Friends whose kids discovered they were "gay" on their missions.
Yes. At least 2.
Present for TWO RS meetings taken over by LGBTQ.
Yes
1. The teacher had her former mission companion, inactive, Queer friend "teach" an entire lesson one Sunday. (Luckily the bishop apologized the next week and we had a lesson the the family from the Gospel Principles manual to make up for it. Of course, that bothered the teacher and some other younger RS members.)
2. A woman in RS asked a question about protecting her children from the LGBTQ activities that were happening. She was shouted down, multiple women stood up and moved toward her in a threatening manner. The meeting was ended on the spot, but no verbal offer of support for the woman who was attacked. Luckily, some of us moved toward her to protect her and comfort her. She was so afraid she never came back to RS, only sacrament meeting with her family.
Former "friend" who was kicked out of BYU for attempting to engage in sexual activity with an unreceptive roommate during a BYU sponsored performance group trip. (At least they kicked him out! But that fact that it happened.)
This was the same former "friend" who told me how gay people would signal they were gay, meet up and hold gay mix and mingles at BYU on BYU's dime. And that was like 20 years ago!
Yes.
Ward were bishop, YW leaders, RS President, and more were over the top "in love" with the LGBTQ kids. All praise, no corrections. Bishop even gave a "testimony" about special kids and being nice and accepting.
Yes.
Stake RS President encouraged all leadership to attend Gay Pride Fireside with Ben Schilaty. Pretended it was church sponsored and invited youth using the church's email contacts without their parents knowledge MULTIPLE times.
Yes.
Friend's dad who was branch president, public school teacher, etc. and abusing one of his sons for this whole life. No one knew until the kid was an adult. The dad though he should be given credit for only doing this to one of his sons, not all. He thought it showed self discipline.
Does this make you want to puke and cry yet? To rend your clothes, sit on the ground and put dirt on your head? It does me.
I could go on. And this is just me. Others have their own stories.
My experiences in Mexico:
A father that flat out told me he would beat his son who confessed to him openly that he was gay, until he said he was straight.
The Sunday School teacher straight up saying that Sodom and Gomorrah was because of homosexuality and because of pride.
The Sunday School teacher straight up saying that BYU should go the way of Benemerito, that is, a complete disbandment of the university, after showing him one of the threads here.
Stake President mentioning off-the-cuff that he feels thankful for living in a country where he can still make the remarks he can make about homosexuality, and comparing that with the USA and Canada where that becomes increasingly problematic. Also noted a rumor that after Elder Packer had denied that people were born with same sex attraction, the Church faced a lawsuit unless they changed the words in the subsequent Liahona / Ensign.
Bishop telling me straight up: This is why we will be the new leaders of the Church (the Lamanites) and why you (referring to the Gentiles) will fall. Correction, are falling. We are stalwart in defending the truth. The Gentiles have abdicated that responsibility.
Father in law was an active member and didn't want to be unchristrian when is brother and nephew sexually molested 4 of his sons as children. So they kept visiting. Abuse continued. All 4 boys and their wives and their children suffer to this day from this abuse. Some divorced, some abuse husband to wife. The story above about the BYU performance group member who was kicked out of BYU: his son. Also one of his sons who engaged in homosexual behavior on his mission.
I don't want to add anymore. I am done with this topic right now. It is too much for me to dwell on.
