Recently I heard about Russia eliminating birds that were eating crops. Then the bugs didn’t get et, and things were much worse.

Mosquitoes can likely be eliminated in populated areas without dire consequences.

Heaven knows Alaska is 99% sparely populated, prolly because the mosquito is the state bird.

Part of me wonders if this is one of the reasons we appear to be close to the end times. As our technology increases, our threats to ourselves multiply. Not only can we poison rivers and lakes, conduct murder on an industrial scale and wipe out entire cities, we can also do things which will cripple and distort the natural world forever. We now have means of enslaving people which Stalin or Caligula could only dream of.

I think this may be why Jesus will have to come back - to save us from.ourselves and our mess.

True that “mosquito kills more people than any other creature in the world.” Seems their supposed intention is to decrease disease-carrying mosquitos, by these GE male mosquitoes impregnating female disease carrying mosquitoes with eggs/mosquitoes that will die out prematurely.

I’m not sure what the update of approval is but it seems it was approved by the EPA, but has yet to get approval more locally, in some cases…

The theory is that these GM male mosquitoes’ offspring will essentially cause infertility in the female. If the infertile female bites humans, might it have adverse effects on humans? Even if not immediately? Have there been longitudinal studies with this?

They have very different physiologies from us, but they could be used to do that to humans, probably by a slightly different method.
