What is lust?

You're definition of lust is not biblical. Try the 1828 definition.

LUST, n.

No, that is not same sex attraction.

Same sex attraction refers to sexual feelings, not necessarily lust, for someone of your own sex. It can also mean to be physically and emotionally close to others of you own sex as much or more so than the opposite sex.

The reverse is also true. Opposite sex attraction are sexual feelings, not necessarily lust, for someone of the opposite sex. It can also mean to be physically and emotionally close to others of the opposite sex.

Lust does not have to factor in unless you let it.

And again, yes lust is a sin.

What is lust?

Lust = lŭst, noun:
1. Intense sexual desire.
2. An overwhelming desire or craving.
3. Intense eagerness or enthusiasm.

Lust is not attraction.

You cannot use the word "attraction" for the same sex

When using the word "attraction" for people,

God made man and woman to be together.

You can not say the same thing - a man for another man.

When two guys are friends, you really wouldn't use the word
attraction, and say that "I'm attracted to him" would you.
but just friendship, is not what we're really talking about here is it.
We are talking about a man having a physical attraction for another man - and that, is simply WRONG,
no matter how you want to twist and justify it.

Have you ever thought - why ? did Jesus make the distinction
between what the people thought was lust, and what it REALLY IS.

the people thought that "adultery", was something that you actually
had to act on, and do.

" But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."

There is a very short time window to canonize the Proclamation. Almost everyone who signed it is dead. Holland is the last one and he is 81.

Even if it is canonized it won't matter. You clearly haven't seen LGBTQ+ crowd in the Church who proclaim how LGBTQ+ is compatible with the Proclamation.

It's changing the way you've been seeing it, and fixing the way and how you see what's right and what's wrong.

Lust is not a desire or feeling for the love you have for your wife.
Or a desire you can have for JUST your wife.
So you can't just lust after your wife, and then it's ok because shes your wife.

If you lust after your wife, you will most certainly want to look at another body that way.
Because if you're looking at your wife in a lustful way, you're really not looking at her, but just a body - flesh,
and many woman have bodies that you will like and lust after.

I think you are thinking about things a little too hard. Exactly how does one look at their spouse in a sexual way without being strongly attracted to their body? I suppose you might say that it can't be just about their body. But sometimes the attraction to your spouse should be overwhelming. It is not just fine to be sexually attracted to your spouse, it's good. After all, Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother are the Ones Who created sex.

To be honest, I think by definition one can't look at their spouse in a lustful way because lust is looking at something that isn't yours in a sexually covetous way and spouses are each other's. We can certainly think about sex in a marriage in a selfish way, but that's a very different thing and selfishness can cut both ways. The person who is always demanding sex is obviously selfish, but so is the prude who is always withholding themselves and putting their desires over their partners.

And will that be occurring by common consent or in the same manner as the other policy declarations, or like the removal of the Lectures on Faith? If this occurs, it may only signal yet another policy statement being retroactively categorized as a "revelation" -- what other purpose could it possibly serve?

Just being honest. My bishops wife is super smoking hot. 25% of the church leaders are effeminate homosexuals and so many of your most anti-gay preachers/politicians/loudmouths end being busted with a same-sex prostitute or relationship.

Here some more truth to go along with what you have said. I'm not going to go along with some moral fantasy that so many LDS people live in. Just cut and dry so here it is. 1)The LDS church WILL allow gays to be sealed in the temple since 25% of the current leadership are effeminate men and probably deeply closeted homosexuals anyhow. 2)All of those people on here who argue about whether gays are born that way, a result of sin, demons from Hell etc. are probably secretly gay themselves. "Me thinks though doest protest to much," comes to mind. 3)You know that really super hot wife of the bishop? 80% of the Elders quorum, Priests quorum, Deacons quorum and 10% of the Relief Society has fantasized or had lustful thoughts about her. That's it. That's the real truth about life. You might disagree but only because you are in the 20% category who averts their eyes from the Cosmopolitan at the checkout counter. Quit acting like your some super moral human being who doesn't ever look on another person in a less than appropriate manner. Oh wait, I forgot. Only the flags do that. Right?

Why should Mormons have to reevaluate their views though? They want everyone in the world to be ready and willing to reconsider their views, even if it is a painful experience that brings familial and social difficulty. But should true, blue members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints be expected to do that themselves? Of course not! They are led by prophets. There could never be a falling away of truth for them.

It doesn't matter if there is no Judaeo-Christian precedent for a people to be spared of the possibility of falling into apostasy. It doesn't matter if the Zion-like community set up by Christ among the Nephites fell into apostasy. It doesn't matter that Christ's Millennial Reign ends up falling into apostasy as well. It doesn't matter if the foundational text of the LDS church is a book warning of the reality and constant threat of people and society drifting into apostasy. It doesn't matter if the "prophets" of the LDS church are devoid of true, sincere prophetic examples to evaluate following Joseph Smith. Members of the Latter-day Saints do not need to reevaluate their views. Everyone else in the world does, but they don't. They've got temples. They've got money. They're fine.
