Anti-Americanism and anti-Zapadnism is at an all-time high there.
For the same reason why missionaries were evacuated from places like Nazi Germany and Poland in the run-up to World War II.

I said foreign missionaries, not necessarily Americans. I know they sent all Americans home, but what about other countries? I think we still have many foreign missionaries in Russia. So, I'm thinking that if our church leaders do a blanket "send them all home", it'll sound that they're making a political statement.

They hate the NATO countries too.Subcomandante wrote: ↑March 8th, 2022, 11:59 amLet's see...InfoWarrior82 wrote: ↑March 8th, 2022, 8:10 amWhy would they think missionaries are in danger?Subcomandante wrote: ↑March 8th, 2022, 7:25 am

You still have Russian volunteers in Russia, but no more foreigners. Keep in mind that a credit card issued outside of Russia is not going to work in Russia. And vice versa.

You didn’t read my response. Foreign missionaries were moved out of Russia already before the war started.InfoWarrior82 wrote: ↑March 8th, 2022, 12:05 pm I said foreign missionaries, not necessarily Americans. “I can confirm that as of mid-February, approximately 50 young volunteers have taken assignments outside of Russia, given the recent recommendation of many foreign governments advising against travel to Russia,” he said.

So which countries are they listening to? Russia certainly didn't say anything.

I don’t know, but I would guess that the general answer is that they are listening the countries whose citizens the missionaries are.InfoWarrior82 wrote: ↑March 8th, 2022, 2:09 pm So which countries are they listening to? Russia certainly didn't say anything.
And to be honest, I see no problem with that. This is not an issue where I would see a need to critize the church.

Re: What happened to the LDS Missionaries in Russia?
When did the church join up with WEF/UN 2030? Was it before or after the Russia temple announcement?I suspect this is due to the Church’s own self-interest. In 2018, President Russell M. Nelson announced the creation of Russia’s first-ever Latter-day Saint temple. The fact that the location for the temple has not been announced suggests it’s still a sensitive topic of negotiation. It seems likely that LDS leaders have no wish to antagonize Putin, regardless of what he has done in Ukraine and at home.
