Yes, there are reasons why one or many might wear a mask in public, Allergies being just one prime example. What gets me "crunk" however, is seeing these sheeple riding around in their cars by themselves with masks on pulled up to their bottom eyelids and being in total panic when someone pulls up to the gas pumps in the next bay 25 feet away. I walked into our local Wally World two days ago and noticed that 99% of the employees had their masks OFF. I asked a member of the Church whom I know, in a light-hearted manner, where her mask was. She said, the store manager announced to the entire staff, a couple of days prior, that they no longer would be required to wear masks, and before he could say the next word, they all cheered and the vast majority of them jerked their masks off and threw them on the floor. The manager could not finish his daily brief due to the cheering and applauding and excitement.

This past Sunday, it was fantastic to see almost every single person in our Ward with maskless faces. A couple of sheeple had them on, and naturally they bore their testimonies of how the masks and vax were godsends and thanked a knowing Prophet for his wisdom and wonderful ability to receive direct revelation from on high for all of us....

I can’t follow somebody that loves Babylon that much to be an ecclesiastical leader of mine. This was in Florida of all places. Good for you Lex, your example for your family will always be remembered though you may feel it's insignificant... You remind me of a great theme from one of the stake conferences and it directly applies to what y'all did... 'WE CAN DO HARD THINGS'.
We may be ostracized and ridiculed for it.... But guess who else lived in constant ridicule and torment for teaching and following truth even though it was hard? THE 12 APOSTLES from our Lord's own ministry. I love their example and am so grateful we have a record of how true disciples of our Savior are to be and live. We can do the hard things that our Master expects of us, TO FOLLOW HIM AND FOLLOW TRUTH AND LIGHT.

If you KNOW masks are unnecessary and are being enforced as a mark of conformity like the yellow Star of David, but you still wore/wear one for any of the following reasons...

You don't want to be judged

Your nagging wife/husband gets snippy with you if you don't

You hate it when your bishop looks at you with disappointed eyes

You want to feel accepted by your community

You just feel too scared to openly defy a rule even when you know it's wrong...


...Well, brother or sister you now know which is REALLY more important to you - God, Truth and Rightness or the Arm of Flesh.

You were challenged and you made your choice. Sitting in the chapel feeling accepted and approved of by those people around you is more important to you than following your conscience.

I was wearing a mask back before it was mandatory and our churches had even shut. I got odd looks back then! I had thought this disease was worse than it turned out and had no desire to infect any of the elderly members. Back then I was about the only one wearing one, and the government had said nothing about folk wearing them. Now there are only a handful not wearing them, but it is gradually spreading. Strange how these things go.

Wearing a mask in good faith, even if misguided, is a different matter than wearing one through fear or weakness. All truly free choices require a level of respect.

What matters is the preparedness to put conscience before personal comfort or wellbeing. Does a person act on what he/she KNOWS or believes is right, or do they take the easy route and make queasy bargains with capitulation?

At our last Sacrament meeting, I saw just one person wearing a mask (not me).

I don't count mask wearers as evil, but I am very, very tired of it. here it seems a sign of the ultimate virtue signaling. Men wearing masks to jog with their dogs, hikers pulling up their masks when they pass me on a remote hiking trail. Folks wearing masks as they bike up hills.

I suppose my biggest weakness right now (next to despising the ultra-liberal folks I meet that fall all over themselves about social policies) is not being offended by the mask wearers. I mean I heard for years now about following the science. And like the statement above, now that science says it is bad, hurtful and just not required, they want to continue. I am abhorred by it, sorry, but I am. I don't count the persons doing it as evil, but I do seem them as something less than valiant.

A good friend of mine came over yesterday. He claims to be conservative, Republican, anti-government over reach. He was wearing a face shield as we talked outdoors and in my garage. I asked him to remove it. I told him it was worthless and he was on my personal property. He quoted the governor's mandate. I told him the local mandates, the county mandate were over and that the governor's was over in 36 hours and none of them ever affected private property and never were mandated outdoors. He said that at 8:30 am on Friday he would remove his mask and face shield. I was pretty unhappy and became a bit rude trying to show that he was not exemplifying any of the traits he had claimed for the 30 years I have known him. It is as if COVID and his proud vax (he always wore his vax status card on a clip around his neck) have made him push, push, push his virtue signaling.

Anyway, I will admit it. I will have to try very hard to meet the PSR's statement of forgiving and forgetting to be angry at those that went along so sheepishly. But, I will have a difficult time for those who continue to wear masks. So, for those on here that say they will continue and see benefits. Please stay away from me as I am unlikely to judge you in a good manner. I'm old and outside of seeing a few people in Asia where masks when they were very sick and contagious and going to work in crowded conditions, I've NEVER seen anyone wear a mask for health or privacy reasons. It is your right, but it is my right to see people continuing to act like it is virtuous and see a sheeple behind the mask.

Sorry for the rant, but I am convinced that blindly following the guidance from NOT wise and NOT well meaning leaders with something as obvious as a mask is a sign to those in charge that they have the power to do what they want in many more fronts. I'm DAMNED tired of it, I want people to stand up for their freedoms, like a few of us have. Pick a side, Please!

Had a temple appointment yesterday. Called and asked if they were still requiring masks. They were very apologetic and said that they were required but they didn't want them to be. They said they were sorry multiple times. Said thank you and then canceled the appointment. Clearly the temple ordinances aren't that important if in order to attend I have to wear an uncomfortable, useless item for 1.5 hours.

Last time I went to do sealings a few months ago, the sealer came in the room wearing a mask. As soon as he sat down, he took it off and said that sealers had special permission from the FP to not wear masks because it is difficult for some patrons to hear the blessing. We proceeded with an hour long session of him not wearing a mask. As soon as we were done, he put his mask back on and left the room.

I attended a wedding last summer in the temple. Again, no mask for the sealer one he sat down. Mask back on after the sealing.

It is abundantly clear that the FP don't believe masks make much of a difference. Their policies and exceptions reflect their lack of seriousness. I would actually respect them more if they were hard-line about it, as that would indicate they were doing it out of actual belief. Instead, they make us wear masks so that we look and act in the way the friends and peers of the FP desire. We are being forced to sacrifice so that they aren't embarrassed in front of their country club and UN buddies.

It is all theater. The question is, who are we performing for and why? And why is their approval more important to our church leaders than even temple ordinances?

Christ defined loving your neighbor as helping them when they are in trouble. I guess the new commandment is "Hide from your neighbor as you would have your neighbor hide from you"

I thought it was love your neighbor as yourself....... I do exactly that, I don't wear a mask and so shouldn't my neighbor. I would never ask them to do something I wouldn't do.......... Lead by example.
