Hmm, I never thought about what they might be spraying on the hay. The Timothy hay seems to be the worst. The alfalfa and coastal aren’t as bad.
Is there anyone you could ask about specific hay crops you have to handle?

I was shocked when I found out. We get our oat & wheat bedding straw from neighbors who grow small grain crops which they spray to stop grain heads from shattering while harvesting. When we clean out the stalls we use it on our garden plot. Of course, every farmer within a 100 miles uses every form of GMO seed plus herbicide cocktails of various chemicals! I can't work outdoors when the aerial spraying is going on.

We put up our own hay and do not spray. I believe I recall that Timothy hay does have a higher pollen output, but it doesn't grow here. Not sure why Timothy hay would be sprayed. GMO alfalfa seed is now available and it is sprayed to keep down competing plants. Dairy cattle are fed alfalfa to keep up milk production. We are probably drinking herbicide laced milk. Seems crazy to me!

When my seeds started failing to germinate in the spring, I thought it was because of our well water being too saline. Since finding out about the manure from animals fed herbicide sprayed hay and grain, I began to think there is a broader issue no one is talking about. Well, yes, there is!

‘Twas jest. I’ve never read anything from Snuffer, but vaguely know of his stances from posts on this forum. Seems he and I agree about many things.

Christianlee wrote: March 2nd, 2022, 12:18 pm Even though mask requirements have been abandoned almost everywhere, I still see people at church donning them. Do you think the time will come when everyone gives up their masks? Young people are the worst. I sometimes attend a large evangelical megachurch with many attendees, but none of them are wearing masks.
I thought this was going to be a metaphorical post about how we each have beliefs about ourselves we want to believe and want others to believe and are we willing to challenge our deepest hopes/wishes for ourselves.

From what I have seen of the movement, it can't really be called a church. There are no church officers, church employees, church headquarters, lesson books, etc. Some people have organized into loose groups who do not work together. Some groups will organize a "conference" and invite anyone to come. I went to one once. Denver usually speaks but is not involved in the organizing.

I love finding truth wherever I can find it. That is why I love this site. I can enjoy truth from a poligamist, former LDS members, concerned LDS members, current TBMs, etc. I don't buy into everything that someone says, but find that everyone has some truth that I can learn. I enjoy learning from all of you. Thanks for all of the good quotes that are posted here. Thanks for the many thoughtful opinions.

I went to see my doctor to get a prescription renewed. He said I have to wear a mask. I told him that if he isn't smart enough to understand that a chain link fence won't keep mosquitos out, then he has no business making decisions about my health. There are thousands of doctors. Why should I patronize an idiot?

I'm in an odd position, I actually have a provable medical exemption to masks and yet I wore them before everyone else did, back when it was said to be useless. I have gradually been phasing them out. Church and the chiropractors are about the only places I still wear them now.

Anyway, I got outed on the bus yesterday. I very rarely bump into any church members on public transport. The bishop's wife got on, pretended not to see me and rolled her eyes. I did say hello to her and started a conversation, but I think she was uncomfortable speaking to me so it wasn't a very long one. Normally she's alright, but yesterday she acted like she was in a bit of a snit. I know she works around there, so was it work related or talking to someone on the bus without a mask?

It was one of those social situations where I would have felt bad if I'd ignored her, and it didn't feel great to just give her the time of day. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I used the experience as part of some writing I did later in the day.

I think the coming Sunday I will drop the mask altogether at church. But then people will point out I've been wearing one longer than them. If the worst comes to the worst I will point out my exemption. Our Scottish Government mask restrictions are being dropped on the 20th/21st anyway.

Finally, no more mask requirement in our area, starting Friday. Last week there were 3 adults and one youth w/o masks, but attendance was down way more than half. We'll see who gives up their masks this next week. And if they kill the zoom meeting after that?

This last Sunday the bishopric finally all had their masks off. They also allowed the young men to pass the sacrament without masks for the first time. There was still maybe 20-25% of the ward wearing masks. I'm assuming they all have their own special reasons but I think this is really about over. My clinic also sent out an email saying that they aren't going to require weekly testing for those that aren't vaccinated. I wish I could say that sanity has finally prevailed on this but I think the reason most of this is being dropped is because the mainstream media has moved on to Ukraine and are pushing new agendas on that front. I really don't see masks coming back for COVID again though, even with a new variant. I believe it would have to be a whole new much more deadly disease for your average person to EVER be willing to mask up again.

No one wearing a mask this past Sunday. Of course, most people in North Dakota weren't wearing them ever - inside or out. Too much hard work requiring breathing.

Church and Temple required masks until recently. No hugging, either! One of my dearest temple friends gave me a hug when she and her husband returned from Florida in the spring of 2020. She was taken aside and admonished by the Bishop - who is a doctor. He is a sweet guy, but new to the job of keeping his flock safe. Sadly, pharmaceuticals - including steroids - prescribed by her doctor in Florida for a mild stroke compromised her by-pass surgery a few weeks after returning to North Dakota. The procedure was successful, but tissue was so thin & fragile from the meds prescribed in Florida, incision stitches would not hold. I'm glad I had the chance to hug my friend before she left us.

A man who was excommunicated for writing a book about LDS Church history that did not make the leaders look good. He used real documents, and went about it with the view of looking at history from the perspective of the Book of Mormon.

He made a 10-lecture circuit. The Church thought he was going on a book tour (he was not. The Lord told him to do the lectures). They told him to withdraw the book and not do the lectures - from his stake pres as directed by a couple of general authorities.

If you're interested in perusing, the lectures are here - recordings and pdfs (the pdfs are a little different, as he corrected errors or made things more clear). No charge for any of it. Scroll down to where it says "40 Years in Mormonism".

"Masks will continue to be required for all settings with children under 5 years of age, including programs contracted by the New York City Department of Education with 3- and 4-year-old children as well as 3K and 4K classrooms in district schools," he said on Twitter. Political commentators and personalities were quick to criticize the decision.

I seriously love wearing a mask, not for medical reasons but for privacy and not for long periods, just when walking in stores to buy stuff. Im shy, quiet and an introvert so that explains it. When the mandates are lifted I will probably not wear them anymore if it draws negative attention to me.

If you KNOW masks are unnecessary and are being enforced as a mark of conformity like the yellow Star of David, but you still wore/wear one for any of the following reasons...

You don't want to be judged

Your nagging wife/husband gets snippy with you if you don't

You hate it when your bishop looks at you with disappointed eyes

You want to feel accepted by your community

You just feel too scared to openly defy a rule even when you know it's wrong...

...Well, brother or sister you now know which is REALLY more important to you - God, Truth and Rightness or the Arm of Flesh.

You were challenged and you made your choice. Sitting in the chapel feeling accepted and approved of by those people around you is more important to you than following your conscience.

Enjoy your new self-knowledge.

I was wearing a mask back before it was mandatory and our churches had even shut. I got odd looks back then! I had thought this disease was worse than it turned out and had no desire to infect any of the elderly members. Back then I was about the only one wearing one, and the government had said nothing about folk wearing them. Now there are only a handful not wearing them, but it is gradually spreading. Strange how these things go.

Wearing a mask in good faith, even if misguided, is a different matter than wearing one through fear or weakness. All truly free choices require a level of respect.

What matters is the preparedness to put conscience before personal comfort or wellbeing. Does a person act on what he/she KNOWS or believes is right, or do they take the easy route and make queasy bargains with capitulation?

Acid test.
