Missionaries at Provo MTC no longer need COVID-19 vaccination, testing; masks now optional
“You will now determine for yourself whether to use a facemask in all settings at the Provo MTC ... We encourage all to extend love and respect to others and their decisions.”
“Please remember that these changes apply to MTC training only,” the letter said. “You may still be required to wear masks, be tested, and/or be vaccinated depending on travel requirements or requirements for your assigned mission.”
The guidelines were updated as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention relaxed mask guidelines for the majority of the country.

A big slap in the face to all of those missionaries who got the shot in order to go to the MTC even though they didn’t want to.

I've heard part of your story. Do you think you would have stayed on if it weren't for the Covidiocy.

That’s the required action as a result of those wise and thoughtful government leaders that our PSRs are listening to.

In one sense, they are right. Many countries won't even let these people across the border without stab papers. It's not even in their hands.Fred wrote: ↑March 1st, 2022, 6:24 pmAlexander wrote: ↑March 1st, 2022, 5:48 pm “You will now determine for yourself whether to use a facemask in all settings at the Provo MTC ... If they understood the scriptures, and were good intentioned, then it’s absolutely in their hands. But you won’t see them fight against those who serve their same master.

I still want to thank you for your service you did, because it continues. Your testimony of Christ continues and I hear you. My bets are that you will continue to be a mighty disciple of Christ. Not really. Border control is nothing to do with them. They can protest as much as any other person trying to enter a country but it is to do with the governments which run it. I don't think LDS missionaries would be enough to shift, say Australia. Tourists will be a bigger factor in the years to come.Gadianton Slayer wrote: ↑March 1st, 2022, 6:45 pmIf they understood the scriptures, and were good intentioned, then it’s absolutely in their hands. But their response and what they decide to do is completely in their hands. Rather than bend over for unjust law, they should oppose. Vocally at the very least.Niemand wrote: ↑March 1st, 2022, 8:16 pmNot really. Border control is nothing to do with them. Maybe. They can offer prayers. They can't really offer legal challenges, unless a missionary is detained in a country rather than not allowed into it in the first place. The rsst is between individual missionaries and the governments of wherever.Gadianton Slayer wrote: ↑March 1st, 2022, 8:26 pmBut their response and what they decide to do is completely in their hands. Or they can stand for freedom and stop sending their missionaries to countries that have those mandates.Niemand wrote: ↑March 1st, 2022, 8:33 pmMaybe. They can offer prayers. Hurrah.... for what? This does nothing to bring to light the crap they've been doing all along. The jab is still "safe and effective".

Re: Missionaries at Provo MTC no longer need COVID-19 vaccination, testing; masks now optional
A step in the right direction. Let those that mask, mask, let those that don't want to mask, don't mask. Let those that choose to get vaccinated, get vaccinated, let those that choose not to get vaccinated, not to get vaccinated (except if the local mission where they will be assigned requires the vax, in that case, reassign the missionary to a freer country or stateside.Alexander wrote: ↑March 1st, 2022, 5:48 pm “You will now determine for yourself whether to use a facemask in all settings at the Provo MTC ... Mexico's area is still adamant about the masking policy in church. People have got to learn how to relax.
